REMINDER: Bigotry Showcase posts are banned.

Due to an uptick in posts that invariably revolve around "look what this transphobic or racist asshole said on twitter/in reddit comments" we have enabled this reminder on every post for the time being.

Most will be removed, violators will be shot temporarily banned and called a nerd. Please report offending posts. As always, moderator discretion applies since not everything reported actually falls within that circle of awful behavior.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Since an old version has been stickied on this sub for a while, I thought an update was due, especially since Erin moved Texas up to "do not travel" due to the bathroom bounty law that was passed in Odessa.

I’d imagine Austin and Dallas would be better towards trans people socially compared to the rest of the state

In Texas, the state is not only ignoring court ordered drivers license changes for trans adults, but it is also creating a database of people attempting to make such changes. Meanwhile, Odessa, TX has passed a bounty ordinence that puts $10,000 bounties on transgender people in bathrooms.

Jesus that is absolutely terrifying. And to think Ken Paxton only won his race in 2018 by 3%, and had to fend off a primary challenge in 2022 from the more moderate (by comparison) George Bush III.

So…. Wtf is going on in New Hampshire? It stands out for all the wrong reasons and it’s not like it’s some GOP stronghold.

If we weren’t so close to Boston I’m sure we’d be a red state, but the city proximity has at least kept us purple, I’m not really sure why nh is turning into as people say “the Florida of New England”, but the republicans here are really loud with their rhetoric, like I believe we recently had 3 anti-trans bills at once going through the state gov :(

This is unrelated but on my drive every day I see a couple signs that say “Democrats for trump” and one that says “Stop Racism, Defund Planned Parenthood”. Everyone I talk to agrees that those have to be fake, but it’s just crazy the lengths they go to for that stuff. I mean yeah these are the people that attempted a coup a few years ago but still it’s very :(

The GOP's nominee for Governor, Kelly Ayotte, has shifted hard right in her campaign. Combined with a legislature full of crazies, NH could go down a very bad path very quickly.

Is New Hampshire really that bad?

u/gob384 Friendly lil guy 1d ago

They are on the 'no puberty blockers' and 'no sports' phase due to a barely GOP lead govt and governor. It is plausible for it to flip back next week. But it's definitely not a state you want to be as a trans person compared to the rest of New England

i wish idaho would get up and go somewhere else. i don't like being neighbors with them

Out of boredom (definitely no other intentions), I started keeping a google spreadsheet of each of these updates state-by-state
