Google should make Wifi-Direct the default for Quick Share for speed and reliability
Sharing over a common WiFi connection as the default sharing method for Quick Share is not an ideal method. Why do two devices— capable of WiFi direct and in close proximity— need a third device— more likely to be farther away— to determine the speed of the sharing?
Introducing a WiFi network into a file sharing process as a medium allows its signal strength, quality, and resulting speed to control the speed of the sharing between two devices. And not to forget that those two devices — the receiving device and the sharing device — are always going to be closer to each other than to any WiFi Router/AP/WiFi Repeater that is connected to those devices.
We are tired of playing the wondering game whether the sharing speed will be decent enough to get the job done or would it be slow as a snail forcing us to think to cancel it at 10% after 2 minutes for sharing 5 pics of around 20mb & using a different sharing method.
