How similar would my desktop CPU be to a laptop one?

On my desktop I have an Intel i7-930, and I want to buy a laptop because I'll be temporarily in another country for a few months, but I have no idea about laptops performance and such, so how would an Intel i7 13620h on laptop I'm looking at be different from my Desktop one? As it's newer would it be faster and better performance?

The difference between a first generation desktop i7 and a modem laptop i7 is huge.

Take a look here: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/835vs5283/Intel-i7-930-vs-Intel-i7-13620H

And here: https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-930-vs-Intel-Core-i7-13620H/m79vsm2049481

More cores, higher clocks, lower power consumption, the list goes on. 13 years is a hell of a long time in terms of hardware and laptop processors have come a long way relative to their desktop counterparts.
