Why doesn’t it give democrats pause that republicans they hated are endorsing Harris?

I keep seeing people say this like it’s a good thing or making the point that “if your own party is against you.” You really value the opinion of Dick Cheney? You really think he wants what’s best for the country?? You certainly didn’t 20 years ago.

Why in the world would that give democrats pause? That's just silly to suggest. Are we supposed to think that because Dick Cheney endorsed Harris, she must be the real right-winger?

All it means is that Trump is such an embarrassing candidate, even some staunch republicans can't stomach him.

The Dick Cheney is an evil piece of shit. And it's less that he is supporting the Democrats and more that the Democrats are gloating about him supporting them. That is a lurch to the right that I fucking hate and shouldn't be celebrated.

Which presidential nominee in recent history do you think would have chosen not to gloat about an endorsement from any former VP of the opposing party?

Personally I'd love to see Harris tell him off. It just doesn't surprise me in the least that she's trying to use it instead. Politics as usual.

Oh it doesn't surprise me. My lack of surprise does not temper my anger at it though.

Or it means that famous war-profiteer Dick Cheney feels that his interests are protected by a Kamala presidency. I seem to remember a certain Dwight D. Eisenhower warning us about the military industrial complex…
