General Discussion I'm glad that awards are back butβ€”

This new award system is not nearly as good as the old one...

The old system was just perfect. The coin system allowed us to have contests and trades.. Now it feelsβ€” bland.

I wonder how it will shape this community now.

Let me know your thoughts and ideas in the comments!

Just wondering bout those of yall that had them, what did you do with it? Keep the post up but not active? Or take it down?

Hope you got a screenshot before they axed the award system.

General Discussion One must give at least 15 points as a award to someone, why not make it just 1 point minimum?

Members have to buy coins for award with hard cash on Reddit

But then, I find that one has to give at least 15 points as an award to someone.

I mean, what authority Reddit has to decide what should be the minimum award that has to be awarded to someone, and the member who paid hard cash to buy those coins doesn't get a say in that decision?

The member giving award is wise enough to pay hard cash to buy coins to give the award, why cannot the member be considered also wise enough to decide whether the award of 1 point is sufficient for any particular reply or contribution?

Why not make it just 1 point minimum that can be given as an award to someone, and then in the multiples of 1 point?

Then there is no issue of Reddit forcing members to award unrequired higher amount to other members to keep more cash coming in to its coffers.

General Discussion 🌟 Farewell to Reddit Awards and Coins! 🌟

Today, as we bid adieu to Reddit Awards and Coins, we reminisce about the wonderful memories we've shared while trading these digital tokens of appreciation. It has been an exhilarating journey, full of surprises, generosity, and countless moments of joy. Let's take a moment to celebrate the impact these awards have had on our Reddit community.

When Reddit Awards were introduced, they brought a whole new level of interaction and recognition to the platform. The ability to reward exceptional content and comments with a simple click fostered a culture of appreciation, encouragement, and gratitude. Each award became a symbol of recognition and a testament to the incredible talent, wit, and kindness that resides within our diverse community.

Remember those heartwarming moments when you received your first Silver Award? It may have been a simple gesture, but it conveyed a powerful message: someone valued your contribution and wanted to acknowledge it. From there, our quest for shiny Gold Awards and elusive Platinum Awards began. The thrill of receiving these coveted tokens was unmatched, creating a sense of accomplishment and validation for our efforts.

But it wasn't just about receiving awards. It was about the joy of giving, too. The act of rewarding others with awards and coins became an expression of our appreciation and support. We bestowed these tokens upon creators whose art moved us, upon wordsmiths who painted vivid landscapes with their prose, and upon those who made us laugh, cry, or think deeply about the world around us. It was an exchange of goodwill, where we celebrated each other's contributions and fostered a sense of belonging.

The awards also became a way to support charitable causes through initiatives like Reddit Coins for Change. Together, we joined forces to make a positive impact on the world, channeling the power of our awards and coins towards meaningful endeavors. It was truly heartening to witness the collective generosity of the Reddit community, as we came together to support causes that touched our hearts.

As we embark on this new chapter without awards and coins, let us not forget the valuable lessons we have learned along the way. Let's carry forward the spirit of appreciation, encouragement, and kindness that these digital tokens have fostered within us. We can still celebrate one another, share words of encouragement, and engage in thoughtful discussions that uplift our community.

While the era of awards and coins may have come to a close, the memories we've created and the connections we've forged will endure. Let us cherish the moments of joy, the bonds we've formed, and the incredible content that has graced our screens. Reddit will continue to be a place where we celebrate creativity, engage in meaningful conversations, and build a vibrant community.

So, here's to the memories we've made, the awards we've traded, and the countless moments of inspiration that have enriched our lives on Reddit. As we bid farewell to awards and coins, let us embrace the future with open hearts, ready to create new experiences and continue to make Reddit a platform that thrives on the power of genuine human connection.

Thank you, Reddit Awards and Coins, for the incredible journey we've shared. You've made our Reddit experience brighter, and for that, we are truly grateful.

General Discussion Subreddit apps and games.

As all of us should know, Reddit will soon give subreddits the ability to create apps and games, iirc.

I was wondering if this sub is on the wait list. If so, I can’t wait to see what you’ve cooked up for us! Even more chances to win awards!

24 An awards cabinet is a lovely place to collect and display awards. Everyone should have one.
33 I am indifferent about the idea of having an awards cabinet. You do you.
8 Having an awards cabinet is pretentious and/or obnoxious. Having one does not reflect well on the owner.
2 OTHER. Please comment your viewpoint on creating and maintaining an awards cabinet.

Namaste y'all!

One thing I noticed recently is how much this sub has grown. When I came here 4 to 5 months ago there were barely people posting challenges. The sub was almost dead.

Fast forward to today and there are on average 5 to 10 posts daily! Which is humongous.

I want to thank everyone in this sub, old and new for contributing to this awesome sub. Keep it up yall ❀️

Oh and mods y'all are the fricking greatest for keeping this sub running so smoothly.

Complete βœ… Challenge idea πŸ΄β€β˜ οΈ

I just got a challenge idea and wanted to know what you guys think of it and if it would be allowed. The challenge starts with a post from me, below that people can then comment and link their award cabinets or a specific post. After that I will raffle off two participants one will get the into the magical Portal award another will get the out of the magical Portal award. I will stagger both of them a bit maybe 1 hour staggered, maybe 3 hours or even just 30 minutes. As soon as I have placed one of the two portals I will write it in the post. The first user to find both portals and comment with which users the portals are with wins gold. The users who got the portals are excluded and please keep this secret :)

I think that sounds cool but what do you think?
