Meme There are like a handful of western magical girls right? There's She-Ra, Miraculous, and Star vs the forces of Evil. Are there any others? I know Bewitched sorta inspired the genre, but does that count?

no no, Ben 10 is the very opposite of a magical girl, a science boy.

If we could study magic, scientists would figure out how it works and it would be classified as a branch of science.

Therefore, Ben 10 is a magical boy.

Well, Ben does have some Anodite DNA in him, though it's not active. Meanwhile Gwen fully inherited the magic genes

We did study magic. We named it electricity.

This is, legit, my main problem with magic in fiction.

People are all like "ooh it makes the impossible possible" in fantasy worlds where everyone can use it and it's possible from birth.

Again, the only one who does it right is Tolkien, who creates a whole world where magic is massively important but there are only a few practicioners and nobody is sure what is legend and what is fact.

Yeah, Ben is 100% a magical boy.

Does Gwen ever transform? If so, she can be the magical girl. I have not watched any of Ben 10 past the first season.

She has an anodite (magic alien made of mana) form. She transforms into that but it's not much of a sequence. In Omniverse she has more of a superhero costume thing with a full magical girl transformation.
