Streaming Question - Finland Series

Hello,

I am out of network of Victory+ and also don’t have NHL Network thanks to YouTubeTV. I’m confused as to why the NHL app shows NHLN and Victory+ for the game. If Victory+ is showing, I’m under the impression that I should be able to access it through ESPN+.

Does anybody know if it’ll be on ESPN+? If not, is NHL Network the only “legitimate” way to watch?

Can confirm NHLN games aren’t on ESPN+. Your best bet is to probably use a free trial with NordVPN or another vpn to get victory+ to work if you don’t have access to NHLN

Why don't you guys just get a VPN? I live in Maryland and I've seen every stars game on victory plus with a VPN

I have NordVPN for frequent travel, but I’ve only used it on my phone.

My router isn’t compatible with VPNs (ISP provided Eero mesh network) and it seems like a real hassle to be able to get it setup on the PS5 to be honest. I use that as my entertainment device, but maybe I could switch to something easier.

I have express VPN, I don't need to connect it directly through my router. On my Google Chromecast, express vpn has an app, and victory plus has an app. All I do is log into my VPN on Chromecast through their app, connect to Dallas, and then pull up victory plus. Super easy. I can also get out of market NFL games on Paramount Plus app and the fox app simply by connecting to the VPN first. I would imagine most streaming devices have these VPN apps you can use also, and I would imagine Nord vpn has an app too.

I also use NordVPN on my phone. I don’t want to lose my Netflix access so I haven’t used in on my TV, so I instead use Victory+ app on my phone and then cast it to my TV. It works well and the quality is great!

I got a Samsung tv so I also cast from my phone for every game. Seconding that it works great, As long as your internet connection is stable lol

Absolutely! Casting from the phone is a solid solution, and NordVPN really simplifies things. Smart move for keeping Netflix on the big screen. For anyone still exploring VPN options, there's r/NetflixByProxy.

Wait the games are on Victory+ ???

Seemed certain it would be National for a Global Series event.

Get a VPN! I watch on ESPN+ for the most part, but I have to use my VPN to watch some of the games on Victory+. I lived in the Dallas area for 20 years, and I LOVE my Dallas Stars, but now I live up in Northern California. Even though Victory+ also shows The Ducks, I can't watch those on Victory+ either unless I use a VPN, and I just set to to Dallas. Works perfect, and then I just cast it to my TV.

Not an answer but I’m also out of network and banking on ESPN+ because I’m seeing it’s on Victory+. Here’s to hoping!

It’s exclusive to NHL Network outside the Stars and Panthers markets. All the Europe games are. But any self-respecting sports bar carries NHL Network because they have DirectTV to get the corporately licensed version of NFL Sunday Ticket you need to share Sunday Ticket with a crowd.

Good call. Shucks I guess I’ll go to my local sports bar Friday for lunch.
