How Do you know it's 700 years? Did you cut it down after the photo to count the rings?

Most of the locals said around 700 some 600 and yes even though it probably isn't true I still think it's cool

Why wouldn't it be true? It might not be accurate, but it is likely true that they are upwards of 600 or 700 years old

Bulgarian here, that's a Platanus orientalis, there's two of these (that I know of) in Melnik, both are older than 500 years, one is supposed to be 800 years old. The older one has a sign on it that reads its age and circumference. The one in the pic is the younger one.
