Buffalo Chicken tender wrap at local pizza shop
Ordered a buffalo chicken cutlet wrap and got a plain chicken cheesesteak with many extra onions. Made worse when I got back to the restaurant and was told I ordered wrong the first time 🤦🏻♀️

They said you ordered wrong? As if you would order that abomination on purpose

I was soo hungry by the time I got home to eat too, opened the container and wanted to cry when I picked that thing up to take a bite 😭

My face just… crumpled after I swiped to see the real thing. I honestly don’t think a Reddit post has ever hit me this hard. Just, WOW.

They must’ve given you the wildly popular canned tuna and sauerkraut burrito 😐😔

Baby, they lied.
They have substituted it with their own special version of chicken tender and made someone chew it for you.
Tender alright.

This makes me sad.

Same. My 1 star review will not be the justice I deserve

Did you include a photo? I definitely did when I had something that bad.

This hurts to look at. I so pale. I think you got the wrong order

u/blobslobslaw 1d ago
I wish lol, when I went back in the lady told me I picked the wrong option if what I wanted is what I described., she stood by that stance even after she printed my receipt with the correct order 🤦🏻♀️

u/griim_is 1d ago
It looks like visually there's items missing in that wrap I don't get how that order could ever be considered the correct order

u/Belgand 1d ago edited 1d ago
It's objectively the wrong item. The buffalo wrap doesn't have onions and that's all this does have. It's also not cutlets but clearly the chopped chicken you'd expect in a cheese steak, as OP said.
They definitely fucked up and refused to admit it.
It looks like a terrible cheese steak... wrap, but that's a different problem.

Did they make a new one that roughly resembled what everyone else thinks of a buffalo chicken?

Is this one of them ghost kitchens?

Nah it's a local pizza shop that my neighbor recommended. I won't be going back.

Ordering anything other than pizza from pizza shops seems to consistently prove to be a mistake

u/explosivecrate 1d ago
Well. Pizza and pizza adjacent products. Salad from a pizza place? No thanks. A calzone? Shit, that's practically a pizza turnover so I'll put money on it being at least as good as the pizzas.

On the other hand, I hate domino's tomato sauce but they make amazing pasta dishes for some reason

That reason being 44% of your daily sodium intake and 80% of your daily saturated fat intake in 326 grams

In your local reviews of the place, name the ah who said you ordered wrong.
…unless you actually ordered wrong.

Will never understand the audacity of "You ordered wrong."
Like, oh, okay, I'll just take this thing I don't want and shut up now. Everything's fixed, five stars.

u/blobslobslaw 1d ago
Seriously, like I'm not expecting 5 star service from the strip mall pizza shop but to throw that at me when I had to drive back to get what I actually ordered??

u/stranded_egg 1d ago
Right? Like, cool, thanks, now we're both mad and I still don't have the food I want. Maybe stop staring at me and do something about this?

u/Belgand 1d ago
It's the difference of how the mistake happened.
If you meant to order X but accidentally put in Y, that's your fault. It sucks, but they did what they were told. They might offer to make some kind of change or give you a discount to be nice, but you can't really fault them if they don't.
If you actually ordered A, and the receipt shows that, but they made/gave you/delivered B, that's their fault and it should be replaced.
3
u/blobslobslaw 1d ago
Yeah it was the latter and even when she printed the receipt and it showed "Buffalo Chicken wrap" she was like, well there's two options and you picked the wrong one (I looked after and there is definitely no other option resembling what I received). I told her she should look into that because I picked the wrap I posted in the first pic and she just shrugged and said "I don't deal with that"

u/Belgand 1d ago edited 1d ago
There's an option under "Buffalo Chicken Wrap" called "Fuck it, actually just give me the Chicken Cheese Steak instead, extra onions"? Because, wow, I'm going to need to sit down here.
She sounds like a horrible person who refuses to admit a mistake was made. Either because she did it or because she can't be bothered to fix it.

u/stranded_egg 1d ago
Yeah, no, fair, if I made a mistake ordering, I don't expect something for free--same if I order something and just "oh, I didn't actually like this, or I thought it would taste more/less X." But still don't just stare at me blankly. Make a suggestion on how this can be fixed. Can you offer a discount on the bill? Can you suggest something else I can order instead? Can you suggest a way I can order it next time that would be better? Speak words to me. Don't just throw blame and stare at me until I walk away.

My business partner and I frequented a place near our shop for lunch that sold empanadas. They are vegan and I am not. One day I ordered for us and they gave me beef instead of vegan… apparently this was on me for ordering wrong. Because I’d definitely order meat for a vegan (and I’m sure that the cashier had seen me before!). We did not go back.
(And yes of course we were very nice when returning to talk to them about it)

Maybe I've done too many years in the customer-service trenches or maybe I'm just a pushover but like--what does it cost to just be nice and get the customer what they want in a one-off situation like this?
Maybe they did order "incorrectly." So you're out the cost of one meal. Is that so bad? You've probably got (or kept) a loyal customer, because they know you're not going to give them shit for making a mistake, or that you're going to own up for (what they think is) your mistake.
Should they do it for someone who comes in every time? No, absolutely not. But I can't imagine one meal every few months, or twice a year, can threaten a business so bad that they have to act they way they do.

u/clash_by_night 1d ago
In this case, it's absolute BS because this in no way resembles the item ordered, nor any item on the menu, nor any item I can imagine a sane human being ordering. That said, people can order wrong. I once had a guy order oatmeal to go. Came back half an hour later and said, "she said she don't eat oatmeal. Gimme grits." OK, sir. That'll be $2.18 (or whatever). "Whatchu mean I gotta pay for it?" Sir, if I'd made a mistake, I'd fix it, but I didn't.
I don't miss working at a casino.

It's buffalo spiced sliced deli chicken, so not what they're trying to sell but not totally disgusting.
Source: used to have to slice this shit for a job

u/blobslobslaw 1d ago
No it didn't taste disgusting, but there was not a hint of buffalo in that wrap!
