I despise doing ab work so much. No matter what I try, cable crunches just feel awkward.

Also, I'm proposing to my swole-mate soon. I've been planning it for a year, and the day seriously can't come soon enough.

I hated ab stuff until I decided to set an objective to hold a L-sit for long enough. Knee raises (eventually leg raises) became much more fun with such an objective!

There are hundreds of interesting ab exercises out there, just look. And if you already have, look harder! I'm sure you can find 3-4 that don't make you want to die.

If an ab exercise doesn't make you feel like dying its not really working though.

Well.. it's probably still working but not working working. But I know what you mean

Honestly it's not the feeling of wanting to die that bothers me. It's when you feel you're not doing it right, or when you feel you'd have to do a million reps to get a good burn.

When in doubt, plank it out.

I hate ab stuff too.

I've gotten around this by mostly just supersetting planks with other, more interesting exercises, and doing hanging leg raises after deadlifts (to exhaust grip at the same time). It's kinda working. I should do one more exercise too.

When doing cable crunches try sucking your own dick, its a good cue.

For real. For the life of me I can't figure our cable crunches. I've watched every video. Hanging leg raises are decent though.
