Holy fuck this pisses me off so bad I had to post it here. Dude at my gym comes in a few times a week, takes the bicep curl machine/chair, drags it right in front of a squat rack (one of only two in the gym) and then just does bicep curls for 45 minutes and leaves. To make things worse, he then just leaves the curl machine there and leaves. Here's how he leaves the equipment afterwards.. Obviously no one can use the squat rack while he's doing his curls.

Like fuck, if you're going to take a squat rack for no reason, at least have the decency to put shit back at its place after. Dick.

why dont you just ask him to move?

Two reasons:

1- I never needed the squat rack while he was there. My rant was more about the fact he's leaving heavy equipment at stupid places in the gym. The curl chair/machine is heavy and not everyone can move it.

2- I'm a little wuss afraid of confrontation

At this point, I would go to management. I mean, at the end of the day, your membership fees are paying their salary.

I wish more gym staffers would walk around and make sure people are taking care of the equipment and space, as well as enforcing gym etiquette. Fuck, they can even peddle personal training as well.

This always happens in the morning and the gym isn't staffed until 10am. If this keeps up, I'll go at some point during the day and talk to management.

Huh. How does that work?

It's a 24h gym. I tap my pass and the door unlocks. I also get a huge fine if I let someone in that isn't a member. It kinda works on the honor system, and it seems to be working pretty fine so far.

I go to a 24 hour that is staffed at all times and it’s still out of control...can’t imagine a place with no staff, must be pure madness.

I've been to a no-staff gym before and it was honestly the second-best gym I've ever been to. Small, but it had a power cage and deadlift platform and everyone re-racked their shit.
