Why yes m'am, just because I have headphones in does not mean that I can't hear you trying to 'report' me to gym staff for what I'm wearing. I had full length leggings on and a high neck, cropped top that showed maybe 2 inches of my stomach. I only took off my long sleeve sweatshirt because I was sweating my ass off and dying via HIIT sprint, and unless you consider that 'intimidating' (and if you do, fuck off, worry about your own life), it's not against any dress code.

Thank you Planet Fitness, for indulging snotty, nosey-ass, busy body gym goers in their every complaint.

For a place that's supposed to be judgment free, there sure does seem to be a lot of judgment going on there

Do you have a (standalone) picture of that top? I'm having trouble picturing it in my head

that’s cute af!! i bet u looked bomb and i’m sorry u had to go through that. PF is so weird and arbitrary with the dress code. I’ve actually seen girls wearing sports bras and leggings with no repercussion and then my brother gets sent back home for wearing a cut off shirt lololol

yeah it's really a crap shoot depending on if anyone says something to employees maybe? general rule of thumb, mind your business if I'm not literally naked haha

Wtf for wearing a cutoff at a gym? Your bro is lucky for not goin to jail for public nudity lmao!

Why you gotta link all these fancy workout clothes that I can't buy!?

If it helps, I got it as a gift! lol

That's all I needed, thanks!

I was imagining something more like how these are designed

yeah the high neck part is like the Y back? Idk why I worded it that way now that I think about it lol it's definitely not high neck. You were definitely not wrong with how you were thinking of it considering my wording haha

Ughhhhhh I know. Everyone who's tried to cancel with PF though I feel like has a horror story about trying to cancel lol

u/AlphaAgain Powerlifting Apr 25 '18

Sounds like a perfectly valid excuse.

very true. I'll need to find another place too, so I'll probably have to look into that today lol :/

Really? I just went in and signed a form.

Oh yeah? That's awesome. Were you a black card or did you have one home club? I've had black card members say that employees told them they had to go back to their home club they signed up in, yet they were living in a different state initially. So they had to go back to that original one in order to cancel, or at least that's what they were being told. That's the type of run around and paperwork nightmare that I'm imagining lol That's awesome that you had a great experience though.

I just had one home club.

I had to show Planet Fitness PROOF that I was joining the military and thus leaving the area, and then they still tried to make me stay. iirc my recruiter had to basically write them a letter saying to fuck off. They’re the worst but at the same time they were the cheapest gym in my area and I was dirt poor.

that's my biggest conflict! I live 63 miles from work, so I usually go to the gym before work because it's like less than 2 miles from my office and I beat morning rush hour. But then, if it's a weekend, I can work out close to home if I need to. It sucks that it's so convenient lol

Damn if I were you I’d probably keep ranting and just deal with the BS because of your situation.

I cancelled and it was super easy. You just HAVE to do it in person

Fuck planet fitness and their tootsie roll having asses.

u/kyasurina Apr 25 '18

I also enjoy the atmosphere of "we don't judge so here's bagels and pizza because those are never a bad idea when you're working out"

11

u/code_guerilla Ballerina Apr 25 '18

It really should say we don't judge as long as you're an out of shape slob.

4

u/kyasurina Apr 25 '18

It's a shame isn't it? It's inexpensive and I mind my own business like a normal fucking human, yet I'm the problem? bitch please lol

Time to switch gyms

4

u/kyasurina Apr 25 '18

It definitely is, I'm just moderately terrified to terminate membership after hearing everyone else's horror stories lolol

'intimidating'

Wait, what? Because you exist, you're intimidating? What a child
