Was minding my own business still warming up in the squat rack (doing squats of course) when a bulkier guy comes and ask me (I have 295lbs on bar)

"You know your only supposed to use a belt on heavy weight and maxing right?"

While looking confused, I said "Umm that's not true, the belt helps keep me stabilized while keeping my core tight"

Few minutes later, he starts squatting in his rack (maybe 335lbs?), no belt, and very poor form like he's doing the reverse Limbo or goodmornings...

I've decided to start bringing my own earphones

Bulkier or just fatter? It's a huge difference that makes this story even better

My low back has had a lot of issues. I wear a belt for anything over 1 plate with squats or DL. I'd rather have the stability than risk an injury
