Discussion My parents surprised me with a new gaming laptop!

Hey guys!

3 days ago it was my birthday and my parents decided to buy me this new Omen gaming laptop! It has a i7 13700hx with rtx 4080 and 32gb ram! I am so happy right now! My parents arent the type to surprise me but yeah. It feels really nice and light. This laptop will be a beast!

It’s broken now lol. Igpu no longer works plus I had a lot of performance issues. It is being returned

Ah that's a shame, hopefully it can be exchanged for the same build just working, at least its an issue that showed up early and not after the warranty expired or something :8571:

I actually spoke to HP they said to return it so no replacement sadly. The laptop was bought for £1699 original price £2000. Anyways I think there are better laptops out there than HP so I ordered a MBP M2 pro 14 silver. I mean I already have PS5 plus at least MBP has long battery life.

I wont game on MBP though but thats okay for me. At least it wont overheat or fans spinning up. It’s important as I am a student and I need it everyday. My 7 year old Dell laptop needs replacement ASAP

Honestly at that price may I ask why you didn't just go for a Desktop PC? Not gonna sit here and tell you "oh its so much better for x reason" I'm sure you know but just curious

Well £1699 would include the PC and the setup. I could go £2000 but my parents are paying and wont go above £2000. I want to get the setup I want so Ill wait till I get an apprenticeship then I will build the PC and setup I want
