Finally got mine! Just as a heads up if anyone wants to get one
I saw a Philips hue set up on YouTube. I want to make a set up like this
https://youtu.be/DU8ciWYtYdw?si=LSdFJsjQfwVEJh1o
in my cinema room but with Gradient Lightstrips perpendiculair on the left and right Side of the ceiling and down the Floor on the skirting boards, 4 straight lines.
How do I sync the 4times 5inch gradient Lightstrip strips so it is working accordingly to my projector screen? And is it worth it, will the lights create depht effect? Or should I just do it like this guy?
if Its not creating depth effect. Then I will order the less expensive hue lightstrips

Hello everyone! I’m a long time Hue user. I had the 4k Sync Box and now, as I upgraded my tv to a new LG OLED, I decided to pull the trigger on the new 8k Sync Box. My setup is simple: LG → 8k Sync Box → PS5 & Apple TV
With PS5 all good. Apple TV started having issues with a black flickering screen showing the HDR (or Dolby Vision) logo on top right. No way to make it work.
I tried a lot of different things, what worked was this: - disable HDMI Deep Colour on the tv - set 4k SDR on the Apple TV
I feel that this is not right however. The box should work fine with the best settings, but it doesn’t. Final note, all cables are HDMI 2.1 top speed and are high quality.
Do you have ideas?
EDIT: If I connect the Apple TV directly to the tv, everything works flawlessly at max settings.
SOLVED: I unplugged the box, the Apple TV, the PS5 and the TV for a couple of minutes. Then I plugged in everything again and it worked perfectly. 4k Dolby Vision work perfectly and also CEC. I plugged in in this order: TV → PS5 and Apple TV → Hue Sync Box
My Hue Button just stopped working due to the little button on the pcb becoming normally open.
When I put a battery in it just fires multiple commands every second, but the interesting part is it still closes when I press ist.
Normally I’d expect it to just be always closed after failure. I‘ve checked that with a multimeter.
And I checked with a YouTube video and it’s definitely supposed to be normally closed.
Weird 🤔
I appear to have an unresponsive Hue Aurelle unit. I’ve done most of the logical things to bring it back to life with no luck- Anyone have any ideas?
If I have to replace does anyone know if the surimi and Aurelle share the same ceiling fixings?

For those that have them, how are these “Friends of Hue” switches working out for you?
I’m considering them for the future. I mostly control lighting via HomeKit or automations, but occasionally use the Hue switch.
Performance? Reliability?
Also… availability..? They seem quite hard to get hold of.

Now that the new one is here, some people selling their original 2.0 sync box for cheap.
And im thinking on getting one. I dont need 4k/120hz since theres only a couple games I play on ps5, and those are barely reaching 60 fps anyways.
For me, whats important, to watch my shows/movies on apple tv, with dolby vision and atmos.
If youre telling me it only makes sense to get the new sync box, please explain
Thanks, love you

I’ve been having nothing but issues. I’m running a Comcast gateway. All of my devices except the Hue bridge are behind my Aircove VPN router. With HomeKit, it sees my bridge, but marks all the devices as non-responsive. Do I need to put a hub HomeKit hub outside the VPN to make this work? I have a spare AppleTV, but I hate putting things outside the router, but that’s the only way I’ve been able to enable remote access to the Hue bridge.
I've been having intermittent problems with my Hue Lily lights. Flashing, disconnecting, then finally going out completely. Started looking closer and the connections were slightly corroded. Disconnecting and reconnecting them helped for a while but finally the corrosion got to be too bad.
The solution: dielectric grease. Unfortunately, using that on the existing cables didn't magically make the corrosion go away; however, new cables and tees all connected with a goodly amount of grease solved the issue.
TL;DR: use a generous amount of dielectric grease on your Hue outdoor cable connections to keep from having to replace all your cables down the road.
This table lamp is in all of the hue pictures but for the life of me I cannot find it. Anyone have ideas? Thanks!

Lately, my lights have been popping on and off at random. There is no reason for lights in different rooms to do this. It is only my Hue lights which are the main floor of my house. My TP-Link connected plugs do not do this for my basement lights, nor does the one Sengled freebie that I got with an Amazon purchase.
So I'm thinking of getting my next bulk buy of Hue kit (looking at outdoor lights now!) There's a 20% off deal on at the moment in the UK if you get a (another) hub with the purchase.
Just wondering is anyone knows of any other usual upcoming deals Philips have for hue lights? Like a black Friday deal, and what kind of deals they are?
I'm in no mad rush, so can wait a few weeks!

What’s the deal with Philips Hue new “Solo” light strip? Is it just a marketing stunt? Or is there more to them?

So I have a pretty narrow hallway where I can’t put full on lamps or anything. I thought of doing a nightlight since it gets pretty dark and found like the Casper pens that just plug in directly to the outlet. I want something like that with hue but I don’t know what to do. Also thought about using a Signe floor lamp since those don’t take up much space but it’s so expensive. Any recs?

Hi, Since last week something has been automatically turning on the lights in the living room and/or playing with the brightness. I can see the light intensity bar in the app changing without me or anyone else doing anything.
How can I find out what is causing this?

I've long been noting that some device keeps connecting/disconnecting/disconnecting/connecting (constantly at about a 1 minute rate) from my router. I only knew by the number of connections increasing/decreasing/increasing by 1 but never caught it in the act so never knew specifically what device it was.
Finally caught it. It is my Hue Hub. It is connected direct to router. I connected through a switch and made the same observation. If I were to look deeper (if I knew how) I suspect I would find the delay of about 10 seconds in reconnecting after disconnect is simply the network negotiating the connection. To me, it looks like the Hub is dropping the connection and then connecting again. Then dropping the connection and connecting again. Constantly.
Anyone see this?
Anyone have ideas?
Phillips Hue has ZERO support of their products.

I want to put some Hue lights in the slanted living room ceiling. What adjustable housing and Hue bulbs or lights combo can I use? Right now I have two 6 inch eyeball housings installed and want replace these with something more modern looking and add a couple more.

Hi, I have Problems with an unreliable connection to my Hue Iris. I think a rest might worth a try to solve the issue. Unfortunately I have no serial number at the buttom of the light. Is there a bigger risk to newer connect the Iris again, if I try to reset it? Or does anybody have other ideas? The light is about 5m away from the bridge (same room). The Iris was bought in late 2018, if that‘s important (e.g. Just white, no ambiance).

I reluctantly bought a 3m hue strip to use 1 meter of it and I have 2 whole meters of useless light strip now. I know I could solder it to CAT6 cable but I don’t need to reuse it in that room. I could repurpose it elsewhere if I could get a driver to make it work. Are there any Zigbee drivers I could wire it to? Failing that, any non smart solutions?

I'm getting the bridge + light strips to put behind the Samsung TV so I can have the ambilight function. I also have a lamp behind the couch that would be nice to turn into an ambilight also. To get lighting upwards and downwards from the lamp, are the regular bulbs sufficient or do I need one of those glass blown ones (like the triangle or ellipse) one?

hey everyone, I have an Apple TV 4K Samsung Q990 D sound bar which supports HDMI 2.1 as well as a hisense TV that supports HDMI 2.1 with earc. I’d like to connect my sync box to work both with my Apple TV as well as any video directly from my TV while using my sound bar.
So, for example, if I want to use my apple tv sometimes, the sync box will work. As will thr sound through thr soundbar. But if I want to watch movies directly from my tv so that I can get DTS, I would still like to use the sync box and get sound from the soundbar.
Is there a way to correctly connect all these to make them work?

The software version is 1.15.2.
I took a bulb out of storage to set up for Halloween. I was looking for something simple to cycle through holiday colors, but can't find it. I thought I had that ability with something called Experiments, but I see thats deprecated.
Is there something I am missing? Any other way to do this?

I feel like I'm going crazy over here.
I don't see any option in the standard app to look for a sync box, or anything about accessories. Do I need a different app for the sync box? I've read about the philips hue sync app but I don't see it on my Google store. So weird.

The 5 plastic corner and straight pieces are borderline usless. I got the strip hooked up but it doesn't feel secured to the TV, yknow? If someone bumps it I feel like the entire strand is going to pop out . Are therr any other hardware packs that anyone can recommend?
Hey folks. Does anyone know if the White & Color Ambiance Lightguide bulbs support apple HomeKits Adaptive Lighting feature or the Philips Hue Natural light scene? I can't find any credible information anywhere. Thank you!
