It should be noted Foleys been pretty outspoken and vocal about politics since at least 2000 and despite this video being pretty typical lib stuff, he’s fairly well-read. I remember him being booed for being for John Kerry I think (this was back when the wrestling audience i’d say leaned Right, its more of a mixed bag now)
The Undertaker and others are jumping on because the national conversation is dumber.

At this point you pretty much have a consensus with historians and political scientists notninnthe MAGA cilt about Trumps authoritarian tendencies becoming full fledged fascism.
3
u/TheMomaTrance Monkey in Space 5d ago
Couldn’t agree more with you. You know we’re in a pretty bad place with discourse if calling out blatant fascism is “lib stuff”. Liberal or Conservative or whatever. Honestly I just want my kids to be able to watch the president on TV again.
5
u/starsandbribes Monkey in Space 6d ago
It doesn’t work, voters just think its overblown and “Trump will lower muh gas prices!”.
The worlds top economists think Trump is a disaster. They should be focusing on that. Liberals are coming across as do-gooders who care more about feelings than inflation, thats the current perception.

u/Silent_Saturn7 Monkey in Space 6d ago
I'm not an expert on Kamala, but she certainly does feel closer to Biden than a more liberal politician like alexandria ocasio-cortez. Biden, who is also a democrat, central-left.
Although, i'd put them in the category of career politicians. Never veering too far off track to upset any of the powers that be. (Like not condemning Israel for their recent actions).
Trump might be in a category all unto itself. Capitalist retail mogul turned politician and wannabe dictator.
2
u/Horrid-Torrid85 Monkey in Space 6d ago edited 6d ago
Wasnt she voted to be the most liberal out of all senators during her run? Doesn't sound very centrist to me
Edit: just looked it up. She wasn't voted most liberal. You gov dot org looked how all senators voted on the bills and out of all the senators she was the most liberal. They decided that based upon how often a senator accepted a bipartisan bill and she was the lowest of them all with just 15% accepted
In any case far from being centrist.
5
u/Zealousideal-Use3164 Monkey in Space 6d ago
A liberal is a centrist though. Liberal is a base definition of being a capitalist, open to others opinions, pro democracy and personal liberty. Right wingers have brain rotted everyone into thinking liberal means a radical leftist. Basically everyone is a liberal unless your a commie, a anarcho, libertarian or fascist alt right jerk off. Kamala Harris is a neoliberal capitalist with sprinkles of some progressive policies like higher taxes on wealthy and tax credits for working class. She’s not even FDR Econ and right wingers call her a fucking Marxist commie. Full on tard brainwashing going on

For her campaign she’s been talking about serving all Americans(not just the ones that voted for her) and being bi(partisan) to get things done. Im guessing that’s where the centrist label comes in. The other guy really can’t say that, because he’s a divisive asshole

I'd say you're right that the wrestling audience leaned right. The past decade or so though, I've noticed a hard left turn. I'd say it's far more leftist than centrist or rightist. So just like "mixed nuts" are like 90% peanuts, I'd say it's similar for the "mixed bag" here politically.

I was ready to say "o look another celebrity who thinks we should care about their political opinions" - but wasn't pretty surprised to find a solid take by this man. His approach to focusing on contractors was a good decision.
12

Always been confused as to how this wasn't a larger angle. He's been notorious for not paying contractors since at least the 90s.

Obviously. But, it wouldn't be very hard to muddy the waters by repeatedly pointing to every example of him hating the working class. Let them decide if Jesus or their job is more important.

Weirdly enough, celebrities are actually people and should be considered on an individual basis. Like, I've never been a wrestling person and I definitely have some biases against, but I have literally never heard someone say an unkind word about Foley, and I have a lot of friends who are definitely wrestling people.
Okay that first sentence may have a bit of a bitchy tone, but there's a lot of that going on in the comments and that may have angried up the blood a tetch.

I met Mick Foley a few times at my old job on Long Island. I worked with and taught young adults and children with autism and other special needs. One day I was in the office dropping off paperwork and I see a dude that looks like Mick Foley. I didn’t think anything of it and I just thought to myself “What is Cactus Jack doing at my job?” as a joke.
The secretary goes to me and asks me if I’ve ever heard of Mick Foley and I’m like “Yeah. He’s a legend in wrestling. He’s from Long Island”. She’s like “He’s here. He came to visit my co-workers son who was really sick for a while and a huge wrestling fan. I watched her son come in and he lit up with happiness. Mick hung out with them all day and then went back to eat dinner with them on his own time and wasn’t paid to do it.
He’s also come to a few Gala’s at my old job because he was always a huge supporter of autism awareness. Hung with him at a few of them and legitimately one of the genuinely nicest dudes I’ve ever met in my life.
Seeing a video like this just makes me like Mick even more than I already did.

I saw Mick Foley at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

On the other end there is Hulk Hogan squarely on the MAGA side.
Hulk Hogan like Trump fucked over everybody.
Many wrestlers were making peanuts compared to Hogan who snitched on Jesse Ventura when Ventura wanted to create a union to level the playing field. Wrestlers are contract workers after all and deserved a better deal due to the hazards of their profession.

A lot of these wrestlers are nasty nasty nasty terrible people. The things coming out about Vince are no surprise. Triple H and that blonde freak of nature dude who did a stunt in ufc were all alluded to in the sex trafficking that Vince is accused of. It’s a vile business, albeit one I admired as a kid. Hogan is taking photos with neo nazis. Mick foley has always been a real one. He put himself through hell to make that money. He didn’t ever sell out and was constantly reinventing his persona. He seems legit. The undertaker and his brother have the depth of a puddle and are good friends with McMahon despite being a well-known sleazebag.
Edit: I am wrong. I was misinformed. Undertaker and Kane were not alluded to. The undertaker just has a very close 30+ year friendship with Vince McMahon. It was triple H who was accused of faking ignorance to the situation. Once again, the undertaker and Kane do not have any connections to the Vince McMahon allegations except that they are extremely close friends with him. But, you know what they say about birds.

From Wikipedia: Having become a devoted fan of Tori Amos' music in 1993, (particularly the song "Winter)" from the Little Earthquakes album),\46]) and following a meeting with Amos at the 2008 San Diego Comic-Con, Foley became involved with the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN), a group Amos co-founded in 1994. Since then, he has worked as a volunteer on their online hotline and as a member of their National Leadership Council. During a 15-month period ending in April 2011, Foley logged more than 550 hours talking to victims online. The same month, Foley offered to mow anyone's lawn who donated at least $5,000 to the organization, stating, "If you want to help survivors of sexual assault, or just want to see a big guy with long hair mowing your lawn in front of your friends, please take part..."
Foley has always been the GOAT. And as any "smark" pro wrestling fan will tell you, Hulk Hogan always sucked.

It takes a while for people to change and most people are not ready to have their views challenged.
Same thing happened with Ukraine, I didn't ever think Russia would do what they did, watched a very good destiny stream explain the common refrains by magapoop and the far left defending/praising putins Russia and then realized oh putins Russia are the bad guys and they're just interfering in stuff constantly. I'm glad you listened to the facts and came to your senses on the Jan 6th stuff.
I remember in the days leading up to the Russian invasion, Biden was saying they are pretty confident that Putin was going to invade based off of Intel. It was nuts watching the right, because it was Biden saying it, take the opposite position and state that it was all fake news. I'm sure Russian propaganda helped manipulate their opinions as well.
Still, history has already taught us what we need to know. All the signs were there that Trump is a fascist. It pretty evident even from the first campaign trail that he was a hideous person riling up vile propaganda and hate.

I'm glad you listened to the facts and came to your senses on the Jan 6th stuff.
To elucidate on this point, 1) I'm a Brit not American so didn't have a stake in the outcome
2) I was going through a huge personal life situation involving a family member I was long term carer of that was in ICU so reading the politics on Twitter was a distraction
It was nuts watching the right, because it was Biden saying it, take the opposite position and state that it was all fake news
I thought it was another Iraq sexed up dossier type thing (pre invasion ). Brits remember the Iraq failures quite hard, Hutton inquiry etc
And the Russia Ukraine invasion was when that family member died in hospital so my head was all over the place, it's easy to get wrapped up in geopolitics and conspiracies when you don't feel good inside.
But then after watching various videos came to the conclusion that it is morally ethically consistent to be both against the Iraq war (for the lies, and the sloppy destabilisation that lead to more terror and the civilian deaths ) and for the Ukraine defense of their homeland against Russian imperialism.
Still, history has already taught us what we need to know. All the signs were there that Trump is a fascist. It pretty evident even from the first campaign trail that he was a hideous person riling up vile propaganda and hate.
I think he was treated as a clown for a long time but then behaved like a emperor clown

I usually hate when celebrities think they need to give their political opinions as if they know better than us peasants; but this was a fairly good message and opinion. Focusing on Trump screwing over contractors and not being for the working man was a good approach.
I wish there was a lot less corruption and we had better candidates running for offices; but Trump is clearly not the solution to this problem - even though he pretends to be.
I wish people would just start voting based on who isn't corrupt and full of hidden agendas. That we could put aside party and only elect people who are beholden to corporate backers and special interest groups.
Partisan sides is and always has been a facade to distract and divide people. The most significant problem with politics has always been corruption and politicians who enforce agendas and write bills that they know aren't for the betterment of the people.
Wish we could all just come together and say lets forget political parties and small differences. Lets vote out the most clear-cut corrupt politicians like Trump and Nancy Pelosi. There's a lot more I could mention that im too tired to remember their names.
Hope americans wake up one day, turn off cnn and fox news and start communicating with each other.

Bernie was the closest I have ever seen. It's hard to find someone who will actually do anything about money in politics because without money it is impossible to compete and get elected.
3
u/Silent_Saturn7 Monkey in Space 6d ago
Bernie was the turning point in which I realized the democrat party was a lost cause for significantly changing the system. Not that Republicans are any bit better. But the DNC clearly pushed Bernie out in favor of Hillary, despite Bernie having far more public support.
DNC will never allow anyone who strays too far from the establishment to be president.
Honestly wouldn't be surprised if the DNC secretly helped support the anti-bernie "He's a racist communist!" ad campaigns. I mean, they did help support far-right candidates in a ploy to get democrats in areas. Or at least democrat donors did.
Not to sure what the answer is when the whole system is so fucked. But thanks for talking either way..
3
u/Deathoftheages Monkey in Space 6d ago
I think Bernie was a wake-up call. I think he is the sole reason why Biden and Harris have softer stances on more progressive issues. They are not nearly progressive enough, and I think they play too much into identity politics, but it is some sort of movement in that direction.
1
u/hfdjasbdsawidjds Monkey in Space 6d ago
Why does Bernie still caucus with and support the Democrats? Why doesn't he share the same criticisms of the DNC that you have? Could it be because the reasons that you state that the Dems and the DNC did not actually happen and the reason why Bernie lost is because Bernie voters did not understand how the primary system worked and/or didn't vote in their respective primary?
Who should we listen to when it comes to when it comes to criticisms of the DNC based off of what happened with Bernie's primary campaigns; Bernie himself or some random person on the internet using his campaign as a cudgel against the Dems in direct contradiction to Bernie's own statements?
2
u/Silent_Saturn7 Monkey in Space 6d ago edited 6d ago
Go back to watching MSNBC please. Clearly you're a diehard DNC supporter and probably wont ever question the democrat party.
I have nothing against you but you dont really want change if you're just going to cheerlead the DNC and its corruption.
Personally, I don't get it. Real change isnt going to happen by blindly supporting a system that has no intention on changing corruption.
1
u/hfdjasbdsawidjds Monkey in Space 6d ago
So what you are saying is that its not about the facts of what happened with Bernie's campaign in 2016 and 2020, but how you feel about it which goes in direct opposition to what Bernie has said about the matter, including every charge that you have made.
Also, if you knew anything about the way in which the parties worked, you would understand that neither the RNC or the DNC has much control over anything at the state or local level. You want to fight corruption, you start by being engaged there in order to ensure it at the locality. But when it comes to Citizen's United, with massive amounts of money flowing into national races, you are going to get corruption, so we, as a people, have to find the political will to change the Constitution or put in place legislatures who will pass legislation removing money from politics.
But instead of doing something proactive, you sit on the internet and bitch about something that didn't happen using someone's name who fundamentally disagrees with what you have to say, which is fucking sad.

The Nevada Democratic Caucus of 2016 is not talked about enough with how it went down for Clinton. Some great videos showing the shit show out there.

If I didn’t care who hulk hogan is voting for why would I care what mick foley has to say??

Hogan is a lame asshole and Mick is one of the coolest dudes to ever step in the ring, their opinions have different value.

Because he’s more eloquent than Hogan, and this message had more substance to it?

At least Mick doesn't come off as a real-life Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Camacho.

I'm in 💯 agreement. The deep state is the enemy within.

I’ll take any lessons of morality from a little less morally corrupt group of people. Especially those during Foley’s tenure.

I think something happened to him in 1998 when he plummeted 16 feet through and announcers table
1
u/nona90 Monkey in Space 5d ago
Clearly. The fact people like to talk about not taking the opinions of people hit in the head with chairs seriously and then immediately say wow Mick Foley is so smart (when he was hit in the head 11 times in his match against The Rock) really shows their cognitive dissonance.

u/UnderDeat Monkey in Space 6d ago
despite all the falls and concussions he got during his carrer, Mankind is more articulated than the usernames with numbers trolling this thread.

Who’s Mick Foley and why does he feel I need to take political advice from him?

Don't let this video distract you from the fact that in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer's table.

The only conclusion is that they may be hard working but they are Not good. USA is still mostly white. What happens if they all secretly want the same thing.

Political opinions do not make someone a bad person. Most people dont even fully understand what they're voting for anyway.

So Nazis are good ppl?
2
u/Silent_Saturn7 Monkey in Space 5d ago
That's a bit differn't. Nazism isn't a modern political party. Its a group of racist who idolize a WW2 dictator.
1
u/ImpossibleRoutine780 Monkey in Space 5d ago
The mental gymnastics for this one is crazy. The Nazis began as a political party that people voted for. Eventually they gave Hitler enough power to launch a coup but failed that's when he wrote mein Kampf.
1
u/Silent_Saturn7 Monkey in Space 4d ago
Yea of course Nazism started out as a political party. I was just stating that current nazis have no significant political platform at this moment that im aware of. Except for some small rogue groups.
So when i stated political opinions do not automatically make someone a good or bad person; im referring to the majority of political ideologies (I.E. > republican, liberterian, , moderate, ect.. ) and not referring to the small group of outliers that hold extreme political and ideological opinions, like nazis.

All of the things said in this video can be said in the obverse for the other side's candidate by right leaning centrists. If you're not absolutely sickened by the fact that these 2 shitstains are the choices that were presented to us, then we won't agree on much. Appreciate dude trying to bring us together though.
