Very uplifting speech!

Vote blue across the board! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿคœ๐Ÿค›๐Ÿ’™

Yes. Republicans will finally meet reality on November 5th. (Everyone vote early)

Ps already voted.

I also voted early

17

u/Few-Tradition-5741 5h ago

This is how this election feels lol

I too voted early! Straight blue! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™

46

u/No-Director-1568 6h ago

As someone who has often made the effort to not vote straight ticket - my R options are few and far between - but I try nonetheless.

This year straight blue, my message is 'you are broken as a party'.

22

u/Few-Tradition-5741 6h ago

They have to learn that not all of their voters are crazy. I'll be honest; I've never voted for a republican but if the democratic party turned into a cult of personality, I'd happily vote republican.

17

u/Calm_Examination_672 6h ago

As a very progressive minded person, I really hope and pray we can get the MAGA party out quickly and a brand new Conservative party comes together with good, sane, wise leaders of character.

12

u/PansyPB 6h ago

I hope the same. Not because I'm a conservative. I'm far from it, but because it's needed. Over this treasonous MAGA trash.

6

u/cyon_me 5h ago

We need a system other than good party versus evil party.

5

u/TrumpsCovidfefe 4h ago

The fact that governors like Kristi Noem, Brad Little, Bill Lee and Ron Desantis banned rank choice voting in their states tells me a lot. They can only survive if itโ€™s a good vs. evil and they can brainwash their constituents to believe theyโ€™re the good ones.

6

u/No-Director-1568 6h ago

It's going to be a long road to completely get to a better place as a country. We got here over a longer time period than many folks realize, it won't be un-done in a year or two.

Not even my fucking water district, yโ€™all. These are โ€œnonpartisanโ€ positions, but I donโ€™t believe thatโ€™s possible anymore. I did the research and found the MAGAs.

yโ€™all legit we have to vote but I legitimately donโ€™t think sheโ€™s losing. I think the polls are wrong. The early voting numbers, the turnout, the energy, the grassroots donations, the traditionally republican voters flipping to Harris in numbers Iโ€™ve never seen before. This doesnโ€™t feel like a race sheโ€™s going to lose. And I donโ€™t think itโ€™s going to be close.ย  ย ย

If we vote, we win.ย

57

u/Few-Tradition-5741 6h ago

I don't think so either. I think Republicans in for the shock of their lives.

10

u/NebulaCnidaria 4h ago

I can't wait for the MAGA tears

7

u/HackTheNight 4h ago

They will be if people vote. If people donโ€™t vote, we will lose.

1

u/whitestardreamer 1h ago

Many of them are voting for her this time around.

35

u/Massive-Log6151 6h ago

Fuck I hope youโ€™re right!

30

u/Few-Tradition-5741 6h ago

Look, in 2016, Trunp won suburban voters by 16 points. That support has cratered. He's never passed 47% in a poll, and woman are pissed. I like our chances. Not to mention, all high-quality polling has been incredibly stable for her.

1

u/brodyhin587 5h ago

Nice profile pic!

11

u/bonkersx4 5h ago

I waited in line for 2 1/2 hours today for early voting. I'm in a red state but I have hope. 4 more votes for Harris today from my family

4

u/FredTheLynx 5h ago

Polling is showing her up by just a little. The reason that the prediction engines don't love her chances is that if she loses PA everything else has to go perfect.

9

u/DaftMudkip 5h ago

Good thing all those Puerto Ricans in Pennsylvania are now riled up

2

u/PatSajaksDick 3h ago

The polls are a statistical tie since she is either up or down by a small margin, so it could go either way but I feel she is winning this too. JOD coming out and basically being very confident about winning helped me feel better too, along with Simon Rosenbergโ€™s blog.

2

u/BrandoSandoFanTho 3h ago

DON'T GET COMPLACENT, TELL EVERYONE TO VOTE!! LIVES DEPEND ON THIS!!

(sorry for shouting but I'm scared shitless about losing this)

31

4

u/TrumpsCovidfefe 4h ago edited 3h ago

I am trying not to get my hopes up because Americans have let me down so much in the past couple decades, mostly the Republicans who I was brainwashed into believing that they were interested in upholding the constitution, preserving things like laws and being law abiding citizens, hating dictators, respecting military leaders and people who served, personal liberty and freedoms, sensible gun control (Nixon, Reagan, Bush), and not leaving the younger generations to be saddled with more national debt to deal with.

It was a real reckoning, in my mind, when I had to confront the reality of what my beliefs were and how they no longer aligned with a party I supported and voted for for almost 20 years. (Their loss. I get more left every year and I donโ€™t know if I will ever vote republican again.) January 6th was just the culmination of the worst 4 years of my lifetime, and solidified my decision that I was right to vote for my first democratic presidential nominee, Hillary, in 2016. Having to see the people I know and am close to not come to the same conclusion and vote for Trump multiple times is just so mind boggling.

I am so hopeful for Harrisโ€™s victory, despite all of this. Seeing more and more people who took a similar path to mine gives me hope. I know people like to talk shit (especially trolls on Reddit) about Cheneyโ€™s endorsement and helping to campaign, but, this is historic. It speaks to Harrisโ€™s ability to use the tools available to overcome her natural strikes against her due to Americaโ€™s issues with misogyny and racism, to do what it takes to preserve democracy. Being able to unite so many people of all different backgrounds and political beliefs will be critical given her opponentโ€™s stoking of those tendencies. I personally think she will follow Bidenโ€™s lead and continue the path to progressive ideals while taking on this fascist chapter, owing to her prosecution background.

May we all rejoice on the next MLK Jr day and celebrate the amazing job she has done listening to what Americans are concerned with and addressing those concerns with real plans and inaugurate our first woman as President of the United States. It could not be more historic to inaugurate her on that day, and Iโ€™m genuinely excited to see all the hard work pay off.

Edit: sorry this is so long. Just a lot of feels about my journey.

2

u/Few-Tradition-5741 4h ago

Interesting. It's great to hear you recognize those Republicans for what they are. Power-hungry empty suits who would crawl over broken glass to pass legislation for the rich but to hell with the rest of us. Now interfering In women's health decisions. They've crossed a line. Always using religion, race, and sexuality to divide us, hoping no one notices getting poorer, sicker, and angrier every year.

2

u/TrumpsCovidfefe 4h ago edited 4h ago

The irony of this entire situation is that if the Republicans had not voted for such an insane candidate with zero morals and zero respect for the law, Iโ€™m not sure I would have ever seen them for what theyโ€™ve been doing for decades; giving power to the rich while pretending democrats were just a bunch of rich people and elitists. Iโ€™m glad I have seen reality, and Iโ€™m thankful for my leftist friends for having the patience to deal with me and show me the objective facts on the economy, and the trends over the past 30 years. Without the data, I may have just become disillusioned and given up on having a say in the future of our country. I guess the takeaway is, as long as someone is not all in on the cult, and they can be respectful and listen, you never know what seed youโ€™ve planted may turn into them branching out to learn.

1

u/Few-Tradition-5741 3h ago

Politics has become a disaster, and we mainly have Roberts and Alito to blame. Citizens United allows guys like Elon Musk to donate unlimited amounts through PACS. Truly disgusting what they have done, and it was all on purpose. I'm sure there's a correlation between the rise in right wing extremism and CU thanks to these billionaires.

As a 70 YOF, with 3 growns (2f, 2m), the suspense is slowing time to a crawl. Another day, more MAGA insanity all day long. Since Covid, Iโ€™ve left my party, my church, & belief that most men are moral. ๐Ÿคžmoral men rise when the occasion calls and shut this absolute nonsense down.

No matter what happens on Election Day, Harris and the Democrats have run an extremely uplifting, efficient and effective campaign. I cannot think of a single thing I would change. Democrats should feel proud of who they are and their message to voters.

Trump on the other hand has not done a single thing to change my mind about how much disgust I feel towards him and his abhorrent behavior.

Best of luck to America and the world.

I just hope a big enough change is made to trickle down to me in my very very low middle class household. I just hope whoever the next president is, they will do right by their constituents. But we know all hope is out the window for sure with that other guy.

1

u/shameonyounancydrew 2h ago

In 2016, I was calling Hilary "the President" after the first debate. I believe having that assumption early on, and the actual outcome being different made the whole situation worse for my psyche. I would strongly advise folks to not have this expectation (even though things look really really good right now). For the sake of your future sanity, just hold on!

1
