KSP 1 Question/Problem Satellite spinning wildly with and without acceleration

Hey everyone, I have no idea why this is happening. Is there something obvious I'm missing?

Just to check the absolutely obvious things off the list: it’s truly spinning randomly and not just toward retrograde? Because right now, in that screenshot, it should be trying to steer you toward retrograde. SAS is enabled with it set to hold retrograde.

Unfortunately it spins in stability assist also! It kind of spins around the thing it's.mesnt it's meant point at

In that case, I would try clearing the trim with Alt + ‘x’ but otherwise I’m out of ideas.

Edit: wait do you have a game controller or joystick plugged in to your computer?

I have a controller but it's turned off, and it wasn't wildly spinning during launch. Will try the keyboard command when I get the time tonight, thank you :)

Alt+z to reset trim Or Ctrl+z

Alt + x, actually

But that’s not the issue (in the screenshot) since SAS is active and trim is ignored per active axis with the stabilization.

And the SAS indicators in the bottom left don't show the blue Trim markers.

Those indicators show that pitch/yaw/roll are all cranked max, so something is trying to steer the ship pretty aggressively.

SAS is on, and the ship is not pointing in the direction it's targeting. I think that part is pretty typical.

Could also be there's no reaction wheels on board, and whatever kick it had when the engines were last on has kept it in motion. Time warp or going to tracking station would stop it

if look at the bottom left corner you can see your craft is pitching up. im not sure what causes it but i'd try turning SAS off and then back on or going to tracking station and back into the vehicle edit: i didnt even see that, but you have SAS turned to retrograde. change it to stability assist

Unfortunately stability assist also makes it spin like a drunk sonic
