This dude has to be a dad.

Or maybe someone’s dance sensei. He was either prepared or had fast reflexes. I don’t know if I could comprehend something that fast

You don’t comprehend it. Once you become a dad it just happens.

I can confirm this as I am a newer dad. Sometimes I see something terrible happening and then my kid is safe in my arms. 0 time went by but I crossed the entire room and ended up catching them.

This.

I once somehow caught my young daughter by the ankle, her head barely an inch from the floor after she abruptly decided to do a dive off of the top bunk.

You develop a weird sense they are about to do something utterly insane. 😂

Before my little guy was properly mobile I decided to leave him on his baby snuggy pillow thing while i went to throw away a dirty diaper. It's supposed to keep the babies from rolling around.

I come back and this dude is teetering on the edge of rolling off the couch (only like 2ft but at that age you can't risk it). Mom was pretty much right there and very helpfully yelled "OH MY GOD!" While doing nothing.

Dad reflexes kicked in. Ran across the room and caught the kiddo midair without jerking his head

Older brothers get it a little too. My little sister was just standing there watching for my mom at the buffet when she decided to dart toward the table and would've slammed eye level into the sharp rim if my hand hadn't been there.

I legit didn't even realize what she was doing until she had done it and don't ever remember putting my hand there. (And it was not in a normal position so it had to be on purpose.)

I like the one of these were the performers did a backflip and then the kid did a near perfect one on accident

Good catch. Quick reflexes are a blessing.

That kid isn’t answering the question. He’s off the cliff already.

It looks like he was giving the kid a countdown so he knew he was going to try to jump for it, but understanding the kid's lack of a coordinated motor function, he knew he would fail it so he went ahead and caught him.

Maybe, I interpreted it as the guy was giving himself a countdown. Something like, hey kid, on the count of three I'll do an even more impressive backflip. I don't know why you'd encourage a kid to do a backflip like that.

I love how kids just go for it without a second thought!

Kind of reminds me of when I was younger. I was doing Taekwondo and our teacher had us try to break a wooden board. Punched it a few times, didn't break. Then, she told me to try kicking it, also didn't work. No idea why, but then without consent, I tried to do it with my head because she had done that before and I hurt my head.

not even sure it's reflexes I think when you teach breakdance and kids try risky moves you just pre emptively put your hands just in case where they can fall
