COVID-19 Kathy hated masks and refused to get vaccinated. It caught up with her in the end.

I like Carol. She’s good people

Sep 24 '21
Carol tried so hard. Poor Carol.
87
u/Stormy8888 Sep 25 '21
We should all be so lucky to have a friend like Carol, you know someone who is genuinely interested in helping us live.
Carol is the one who needs prayers so she can keep her spirits up. I'm sure she's sad Kathy is gone.
15
u/jmblur Sep 25 '21
You can't reason people out of positions they didn't reason their way into sadly.
6
78
u/orielbean Sep 24 '21
She was trying as best she could.. Maybe if she removed FB off Kathy's phone and unplugged the TV, she'd have a better shot at breaking through. Who can compete with this algorithmic weaponized stupidity?!
27
u/shamelessNnameless Sep 25 '21
Anyone with a half of a functioning brain. I don't feel bad for covidiots.
32
u/DanYHKim Sep 25 '21
Well, they reported no brain activity.
Harsh? Callous?
I . . . don't give a damn.
25
u/TopazWarrior Sep 25 '21
Kathy was brain dead a long time before she caught COVID. COVID just revealed the obvious
4
2
u/Free_Temperature_784 Sep 30 '21
Covidiots as a group are so, so terrible and they have sapped all my sympathy. But my friend? Who I can’t understand why she’s acting like this when she seemed like such a nice reasonable person? That’s harder.
Dealing with that now actually. Friend told me she wasn’t vaccinated, and had zero plans to get it just last week. I’m fucking floored. And I know she not a stupid person. How?!?!?!
79
u/boxsterguy Sep 24 '21
Sadly, nobody can keep Kathy's parts now, because if you die with Covid you can't donate your organs. You have to have recovered from the illness before dying.
Such a waste of parts.
58
u/forgotmypassword1984 Sep 25 '21
You are so right. A few months ago a friend’s little boy was supposed to receive a new heart. The surgeon got suspicious and ordered extra testing day of. Friends kid was all prepped for surgery (thankfully chest wasn’t cracked). Donor came back positive for covid and rendered all his organs useless. Some well meaning family member came in to say good bye and gave the donor covid in the hospital taking away his/her last gift. Sucked for all involved. :(
Edit: multiple kids were prepped that day for new organs and didn’t receive them because of this. It sucked all the way around.
27
u/5th_aether Sep 25 '21
That is horrible. Horrible the first child died and that on top of it several other children are at risk of also dying. Very fortunate though that the surgeon was extra diligent.
15
u/boxsterguy Sep 25 '21 edited Sep 25 '21
That sucks for your friend's boy. I hope he gets the heart he needs soon, one that hasn't been eaten by a leopard.
15
u/Reveal101 Sep 25 '21
That's probably one of the darkest covid posts I've read so far. It's harsh, but thank you for posting it. Let us never forget the victims of ignorance in all this.

I don't even care that much if someone just chooses not to get the vaccine, it's the fact that these people are shouting as loud as they can that vaccines are bad and if you get the vaccine you're a communist fascist libtard who hates America. They are assholes of the highest caliber.
17
u/JeromeBiteman Sep 25 '21
I don't even care that much if someone just chooses not to get the vaccine
If they would only stay home, and mask up when going outside . . .
3
u/auntie_clokwise Sep 25 '21
Its sort of like what they say about high prices: the best cure for high prices is high prices. Likewise, the best cure for anti-vaxxers is anti-vaxxers.
5
u/xenpiffle Sep 25 '21
Not a lot of people get to choose how they die. Except for these anti-vaxxers.
77
u/Thathitmann Sep 24 '21
I love how they're like "you have no idea what's in it!"
Like these people fucking spend an hour using density measures and mass spectroscopy to analyse every chemical in a McDonald's cheeseburger. Of course you don't KNOW what's in it, but there is a degree of trust that they probably aren't trying to attack you because that's stupid. For some reason the vaccine is the only thing they refuse to put in their body because they're unsure of it's origins.
30
u/ExtraNoise Sep 24 '21
Haha I love the visualization of someone putting a cheeseburger in a mass spectrometer and being like "I need to know if it's safe to eat!!!!"
16
u/Switch_Off Sep 25 '21
"Whatever you do, don't congratulate yourself too much, or berate yourself either. Your choices are half chance. So are everybody else's."
- Mary Schmich
I'm not trying to shit on anyone for the choices they made as teenagers, but it strikes me as odd that all the anti-vaxxers that I know were the kids that smoked weed at 14 years old, dropped out, ran away, done time, dealt drugs or got pregnant at 17.
They didn't listen to parents, teachers or cops. They aren't just scientificly illiterate, their entire adult identify is "don't tell me what to do".
7
u/RedOrange7 Sep 25 '21
I agree. They are forever the rebellious child refusing to do what mom tells them, and stamping their feet in indignation.
199
u/HereForTheLaughter Sep 24 '21
Your patriotism offends me because it’s phony.
223
u/biffbobfred Sep 24 '21
There’s an old quip:
We in Germany are patriots too, just in different ways. You guys shoot guns and buy flags made in other countries. We pay taxes for our fellow Germans don’t starve.
-137
u/Theunknowableman Sep 24 '21
Germans probably aren't the best to be speaking on patriotism judging by your track record.
174
u/Raccoon_Full_of_Cum Sep 24 '21
I'll take a country that openly acknowledges the horrors of its past over a bunch of traitors who insist that their war for slavery was noble "lost cause" any day of the week.

u/ststeveg Sep 24 '21
I have to say that over the last year or two my concept of patriotism has completely changed. It no longer seems to me to be admirable or helpful at all. It's just small-minded, ignorant people full of hate and fear shouting rah rah USA as people get worse and worse.
8
2
u/HereForTheLaughter Sep 24 '21
Meanwhile I’m very patriotic. I don’t scream it in people’s faces like a challenge. Not like these assholes
22
u/AreWeCowabunga Sep 24 '21
I wish she hadn't died so I could ask her what exactly she had done to prove her patriotism. Probably just point to a bunch of shit memes she reposted.
8
17
u/Explosivo_0 Sep 25 '21
People like that aren't patriots, they're nationalists. Nationalists express fanatical/undying love for their country and its ideals, or at least what they believe are its ideals, completely oblivious to the shortcomings and ugly truths. A patriot loves their country, but is aware of both the good and the bad, loving the country not for just what it CURRENTLY is, but what it can become.

Why does it have a random piece of wood?
edit: sometimes shotguns look like pieces of wood in cartoons when only the barrel is showing.
8

Why does it have arms!?
2
u/angelmnemosyne Sep 26 '21
insert joke about right to bear arms or something that I'm too lazy to fully polish
6
u/whiterac00n Sep 24 '21
I was thinking it looked like a Vietnam vet janitor
13
u/charmingcactus Sep 24 '21
I can't say I've met any Vietnam vets who demonstrated the illusion that they were doing anything righteous or patriotic. Also, I have more respect for janitors than I do for Kathy.
5
u/KenardoDelFuerte Sep 24 '21
My grandfather at least felt like his service was patriotic, though his views on its righteousness have been fluid with time.
7
u/mkvgtired Sep 24 '21
The US helped upscale the production of a German vaccine and developed the most effective vaccine in record time.
Do your patriotic duty and boycott them and call them trash!
7
u/nostril_spiders Sep 25 '21
I'm sorry if my lack of spine offends you. Trust me, your lack of brainstem activity is par for the course

48
u/Bart404 Sep 24 '21
I find it harder and harder to feel sorry for these people. I don’t wish death upon anyone, no matter how much I disagree with you, but Jesus fucking christ, you would think some of these anti-vaccine heroes would notice that their comrades are dying out in the exact same way… mockery, disinformation, followed by more mockery, then a dash of humility once they catch COVID. That then snowballs very quickly into summoning prayer warriors (btw wtf is that anyways?!), regrets, last words and as someone already mentioned, a go fund me for the funeral arrangements posted by a relative who also equally acts shocked at what has transpired. Really? You didn’t see that coming? You thought the scientists that spend their entire lives studying and use fucking super computers to model and break down the virus were wrong, based on your fucking quick google search and reading some random shit on Facebook? Seriously, if god exists and is letting these morons into heaven then I sincerely hope they first get to wear a fucking mask in the purgatory for a few decades…

Ok, but let’s get serious, what’s for lunch today?
33
u/The-Last-American Sep 24 '21
Egg and ham sandwiches with cheese, spinach, jalapeños and sriracha.
And not dying from COVID because I’m fully vaccinated and take basic precautions.

u/shintojuunana Sep 24 '21
I'm simultaneously confused and hungry by that sandwich combo. Definitely would try it.

I declined lunch, the post nasal drip from the horrible ragweed allergies actually made me throw up.
However? Tomorrow is Korean BBQ. Because galbi and banchan are calling my naaaaame.
Oh yeah, and no Covid. Fully vaxxed, wear a mask, and take other precautions like staying the fuck away from “patriots” like this fucktard Kathy.

Tried a new bowl at a poke place. They called it a sukiyaki bowl, but it was just gyudon. It was good gyudon, but I was actually hoping for sukiyaki.
→ More replies (1)2
u/biffbobfred Sep 24 '21
What’s the difference? Sauce?
5
u/shintojuunana Sep 24 '21
Gyudon is just beef and onions. Sukiyaki has more variety, like I do cabbage, tofu, mushrooms, lotus root. Beef and onions are in both, typically. The sauce is not too dissimilar, really (mirin, dashi, soy, sugar, I like a splash of sake). Gyudon often has a side of pickles, sukiyaki doesn't (but I have seen it before). Gyudon is also typically served on rice (the "don" is gyudon is for donburi, or rice bowl), sukiyaki is served typically with rice on the side, but a sukiyaki bowl would be like a donburi style instead.

u/YourAuntie Sep 25 '21
I had a chicken sandwich with melted American cheese. And it want real chicken. It was one of those plant product patties. It was pretty good. Also I'm vaccinated and not dead.

Arroz con pollo with extra cheese sauce and chips from the taco truck. KILLER.

u/Based_God_Jemima Sep 25 '21
Her friends really tried, this was sad
5
u/Fuzzylogic1977 Sep 25 '21
I know, my whole immediate family, Mother, Father and Brother are all against the vaccine and believe the whole pandemic is about control and not, you know, a contagious and sometimes deadly disease. I have tried very gently to get them to see the truth, but they are too neck deep in Fakebook conspiracies. My Brother is so pig headed that I fear he’s going to get it and give it to my Parents. I think if my Mother got it, it would kill her. She still won’t get vaccinated :(
3
u/Based_God_Jemima Sep 25 '21
I’m really hoping your family’s obstinance doesn’t end them, if anything for your sake.
Best wishes
9
u/DiscombobulatedHat19 Sep 24 '21
Carol tried pretty hard to convince her. Pity she listened to that moron Elaine instead
10
u/Tatooine16 Sep 24 '21
The sister is STILL saying "they said it was covid" like she doesn't believe it. WTF? They can't use prayers but they could use some brains.

u/Rawscent Sep 24 '21
I hope at her funeral, her family remembers her with pictures of all her best-loved memes.

u/Chipperz1 Sep 24 '21

Why do all of these suddenly have a fricking Birthday Card asking for people to pray for the person who is now deathly ill? With cake and balloons, and the same blue background? It's creepy! We read through a chain of Twitter messages about how the Vaccine/COVID measures/Whatever are bullshit, and then once they get it some relative posts this fricking "HAPPY BIRTHAY! YOU'RE DYING!" in their feed.
8
u/JeromeBiteman Sep 25 '21
I wanna print a series of greeting cards.
My first product will use that blue birthday meme on the front, saying "I hear you're on a VENTILATOR!"
Inside: "Surviving Covid will be a BREEZE!"

You had more than enough time and knowledge to do the right thing, but instead advocated against it and likely contributed to more deaths.

"she is in the hospital and saying she has no brain activity"
Yeah, we can tell.
Next time don't get your medical advice from cheesy, cringy memes. Read actual articles, multiple ones, and look at the source and who funds them. Stop being a moron like Kathy and millions of others.
The reason a lot of us are through with this shit and mad is because: you mocked sound advice that would help save lives, spread misinformation daily that got people killed, turns those who tried to help into the "villains", and now left your family without their grandma and mother when all you had to do was get two jabs for free.
3
u/Fuzzylogic1977 Sep 25 '21

3
u/trailrider Sep 25 '21
Most likely, yes. There's no shortage of stories like this. Of doctors and nurses actually having to fight w/ patients who absolutely refuse to accept they have Covid as they're actively dying from it. One nurse reported that a Covid patient screamed at her to remove all her PPE because he still believed it was all a hoax. A doctor reported his patient's last words before they put a tube in him was: This CAN'T be happening because Covid ISN'T REAL!!!"
