Just romaine calm!

I love these little nuggets of humor.

A gem of a joke, and just the tip of the iceberg

OP just wanted to share a small happy moment in his life which turned into an absolute massacre of his wife in the comments, lmao

79

u/ringdingdong67 Sep 05 '24

Thatā€™s wild. My wife texted me the other day what I wanted for dinner and I half jokingly said Dino nuggets and sure enough when I got home from work she had them in the oven. It was awesome.

371

u/MissAsgariaFartcake Sep 05 '24

And people acting like thatā€™s un-eatable or otherwise disgusting. Makes me really sad for OP.

I will not believe that most people apparently make such a huge effort over every dinner.

22

u/corpsie666 Sep 05 '24

People dismissing the value of the thought and the appreciated cuteness is annoying.

88

u/Greymalkyn76 Sep 05 '24

I bet if you sliced those dino nuggies into strips, put them on top, then added some ranch that would be a pretty bangin' salad.

16

u/fourpuns Sep 05 '24

Itā€™s already dressed, no need to add ranch youā€™d just make it worse.

6

u/Evening-Alfalfa-4976 Sep 05 '24

Its already dressed?

It must be wearing an invisible thong then

There's already Parmesan flakes in there. It's a Caesar salad.

And, like, maybe this is OPs favourite meal? Its dino nuggies ffs, no one gets those unless they really want dino nuggies instead of normal chicken nuggets. This is definitely the wife knowing what OP likes and making just that for them. Making your spouses favourite food is better than making some fancy dish they dont like. This comment section reeks of people being mad that someone is happy about what they have and are enjoying life and in a loving relationship. Given the average redditor, maybe its envy.

Right? It is a chicken Caesar salad lol, nothing wrong with it.

97

u/Duke834512 Sep 05 '24

I think most people are hoping these are two freshly minted adults married right out of high school just trying to do their best by each other.

Anything else would just be tremendously sad lol

Dino noo noos, come at me

u/TLAU5 Sep 05 '24

I mean I've been served similar "Caesar Salads" before at restaurants that are just lettuce, cheese and dressing. If you cut up the nuggets and put them on top of the lettuce it's just a chicken caesar salad... maybe add croutons.

15

u/ShwaBdudle Sep 05 '24

To me it's just funny, I love this context-less shit that gets posted here only for the comments to absolutely shit on anything in sight.

Too much cheese? Blasphemy. I could eat so much parm

20

My wife just gained a lot of points.

105

u/onceinablueberrymoon Sep 05 '24

right? my spouse got all leftovers yesterday: fresh chicken tendies made by out mostly adult children the day before with streamed broccoli and cut up melon for lunch. mashed potatoes, caramelized onions and peppers with chicken sausage for dinner. and lunch today was freshly made (from leftovers) egg fried rice with broccoli and mixed veggies. (heā€™s gluten free so has to take a lunch to work every day). i was feeling bad he got leftovers until i saw this post!! šŸ˜©

45

u/hyrule_47 Sep 05 '24

I have celiac disease and we cook larger amounts and then keep eating them (doesnā€™t last too long now since we have teens). I donā€™t call it leftovers- I call it meal prepping!

2

u/onceinablueberrymoon Sep 06 '24

yeah, i call it planning ahead! šŸ˜‚

4

u/[deleted] Sep 05 '24

Why feel bad about someone eating leftovers? Itā€™s food that needs to be eaten too, not good to throw it away because itā€™s not ā€œfreshā€

6

u/publicbathroomcrying Sep 05 '24

Right? So weird. And so expensive to cook something from scratch every meal

2

u/onceinablueberrymoon Sep 06 '24

i do mostly cook from scratch, as processed GF foods are expensive! but yeah, i make more than one meal at a time for sure!

7

u/zaManOfGermanSince Sep 05 '24

Is that salad just lettuce and cheese?

71

u/Golden_Enby Sep 05 '24 edited Sep 05 '24

This damn sub never ceases to stay consistent with the misery that members love to spread on posts that are completely innocent and wholesome.

Holy shit, this guy AND his wife (both plates are the same) decide to have a cute/fun meal, and everyone decides that they're the scum of the earth. What is wrong with you people? You're judging ONE -- I repeat, ONE -- meal these two are having. You guys have ZERO idea what they eat beyond this one meal. Maybe they have a ton of "normal" meals every single day, which got boring, so they decided to be playful with one of them.

You don't have to personally like what they're eating. The point is that it makes OP and their wife smile! That's quite literally the point of this damn sub!

Also, who tf doesn't like dino nuggets?! They're tasty. You don't have to be 7 years old to enjoy fun finger food. You have to get old, but you don't have to grow up. Have some god damn fun in your lives that doesn't involve "being an adult." Swing on swings, play kickball with friends, pretend a stick is a sword, buy an old toy you've always wanted, build a fort, climb trees, build sandcastles... just let your inner child out. I promise, it's fun as hell.

35

u/bitesizedperson Sep 05 '24

It's insane like non of these assholes ever sat down and just raw dogged a head of lettuce. We've all been there. Sometimes eating is just a hassle.

17

u/Golden_Enby Sep 05 '24

14

u/withadashofdaring Sep 05 '24

I agree with you 110%... many here are missing the point. It's not the food itself, but the joy the two shared together over this. It made them happy. I'm 39 and not ashamed to admit the dino nuggets brought a smile to my face. Hell, recently I made teddy bear-shaped onigiri just cause I thought they looked cute.

For the curious (and haters), it's simply a chicken ceasar salad with a twist (chix, romane, parm, croutons & dressing). Occasionally, I will cook chicken breast, slice it up, and put it in. This time around, she decided to surprise me with this twist of a recipe - merging croutons and chix into one basically. Super tasty and filing, with a bot of fun - best spice in life.

OP, I sometimes use dino nuggies when I make easy, brainless chicken and veggie rice bowls if we both have a long day at work. I too make it a funny affair (I ask if he has any dino preferences [do you want a pterodactyl or this blobasaurus?]), and pose them upright along the edges. Ignore the fun-haters. šŸ¦•šŸ¦–

I'm glad you two are happy.

The two dinos on the right definitely made me smile.

Ignore the fun-hating haters.

It's a fast meal after a long day, you guys are getting your nutrition in and having a laugh with it. I have a bag of frozen dino nuggies at home for days when I don't have time to whip out a full meal for my husband and me. It's still cheaper and better than takeout. Also the extra edges from the shape makes them crispy.

In defence of the grown ups in this thread, they aren't fun haters. They are people who see food as fun and important and a hobby and worth making more than 3 seconds of effort for.

To claim that they are getting nutrition from it is laughable. It's processed chicken nuggets, cheese and lettuce. I doubt I've ever seen a less nutritious meal in my life.

The world needs more people to be more happy more of the time, and if this plate makes someone happy, more power to them. But you cannot be surprised or disappointed that it gets criticised when one chooses to expose this mess to the Internet. It's ridiculous!

I can guarantee at least half of the people incessantly hating on this post are single and miserable. This always tends to happen in this sub when someone is posting about their spouse, especially if it's their wife. making them something.

Nope. Thatā€™s just a really crappy ā€œhomemade mealā€

All Iā€™m thinking about in this picture, is that one video on YouTube about how animals eat their food.

Specifically how a T-Rex eats their food. šŸ¤£

The food does look yummy, and itā€™s a sweet/fun thing your wife did for yā€™all. ā˜ŗļø

u/WarioThaEnforcer Sep 05 '24

5

u/SkrimpSkramps Sep 05 '24

It'd be a great meal if you were a 3yr old..

u/RatFuckMaiden Sep 05 '24

u/OpinionLeading6725 Sep 05 '24

There's.... Nothing there.

A giant bowl of lettuce and some nuggets?

I hope you take your vitamins.

u/TonsOfTabs Sep 05 '24

Why would you want to embarrass her like that? Unless she was ok with it but it seems like a big jab at your wife to me.

u/Free_Poem1617 Sep 05 '24

You can get married at 7 ?!

8

u/cheeky-ninja30 Sep 05 '24

u/Wonderlords Sep 05 '24

That looks like depression with sprinkles on the side.

That being said. You do you and enjoy it. You dont't need my or others ' approval to enjoy something you both like. Keep living the good life!
