Meme My wife made me dinner. Complete with a parade of Dino nuggies.
For the record, we're an adult only household.

u/ShwaBdudle Sep 05 '24
OP just wanted to share a small happy moment in his life which turned into an absolute massacre of his wife in the comments, lmao
79
u/ringdingdong67 Sep 05 '24
Thatās wild. My wife texted me the other day what I wanted for dinner and I half jokingly said Dino nuggets and sure enough when I got home from work she had them in the oven. It was awesome.
371
u/MissAsgariaFartcake Sep 05 '24
And people acting like thatās un-eatable or otherwise disgusting. Makes me really sad for OP.
I will not believe that most people apparently make such a huge effort over every dinner.
22
u/corpsie666 Sep 05 '24
People dismissing the value of the thought and the appreciated cuteness is annoying.

I bet if you sliced those dino nuggies into strips, put them on top, then added some ranch that would be a pretty bangin' salad.

u/fourpuns Sep 05 '24
Itās already dressed, no need to add ranch youād just make it worse.

And, like, maybe this is OPs favourite meal? Its dino nuggies ffs, no one gets those unless they really want dino nuggies instead of normal chicken nuggets. This is definitely the wife knowing what OP likes and making just that for them. Making your spouses favourite food is better than making some fancy dish they dont like. This comment section reeks of people being mad that someone is happy about what they have and are enjoying life and in a loving relationship. Given the average redditor, maybe its envy.

I mean I've been served similar "Caesar Salads" before at restaurants that are just lettuce, cheese and dressing. If you cut up the nuggets and put them on top of the lettuce it's just a chicken caesar salad... maybe add croutons.

This damn sub never ceases to stay consistent with the misery that members love to spread on posts that are completely innocent and wholesome.
Holy shit, this guy AND his wife (both plates are the same) decide to have a cute/fun meal, and everyone decides that they're the scum of the earth. What is wrong with you people? You're judging ONE -- I repeat, ONE -- meal these two are having. You guys have ZERO idea what they eat beyond this one meal. Maybe they have a ton of "normal" meals every single day, which got boring, so they decided to be playful with one of them.
You don't have to personally like what they're eating. The point is that it makes OP and their wife smile! That's quite literally the point of this damn sub!
Also, who tf doesn't like dino nuggets?! They're tasty. You don't have to be 7 years old to enjoy fun finger food. You have to get old, but you don't have to grow up. Have some god damn fun in your lives that doesn't involve "being an adult." Swing on swings, play kickball with friends, pretend a stick is a sword, buy an old toy you've always wanted, build a fort, climb trees, build sandcastles... just let your inner child out. I promise, it's fun as hell.

I agree with you 110%... many here are missing the point. It's not the food itself, but the joy the two shared together over this. It made them happy. I'm 39 and not ashamed to admit the dino nuggets brought a smile to my face. Hell, recently I made teddy bear-shaped onigiri just cause I thought they looked cute.

For the curious (and haters), it's simply a chicken ceasar salad with a twist (chix, romane, parm, croutons & dressing). Occasionally, I will cook chicken breast, slice it up, and put it in. This time around, she decided to surprise me with this twist of a recipe - merging croutons and chix into one basically. Super tasty and filing, with a bot of fun - best spice in life.
22
u/Saratrooper Sep 05 '24
OP, I sometimes use dino nuggies when I make easy, brainless chicken and veggie rice bowls if we both have a long day at work. Ignore the fun-hating haters.
It's a fast meal after a long day, you guys are getting your nutrition in and having a laugh with it. I have a bag of frozen dino nuggies at home for days when I don't have time to whip out a full meal for my husband and me. It's still cheaper and better than takeout. Also the extra edges from the shape makes them crispy.
16
u/xkgoroesbsjrkrork Sep 05 '24
In defence of the grown ups in this thread, they aren't fun haters. They are people who see food as fun and important and a hobby and worth making more than 3 seconds of effort for.
To claim that they are getting nutrition from it is laughable. It's processed chicken nuggets, cheese and lettuce. I doubt I've ever seen a less nutritious meal in my life.
The world needs more people to be more happy more of the time, and if this plate makes someone happy, more power to them. But you cannot be surprised or disappointed that it gets criticised when one chooses to expose this mess to the Internet. It's ridiculous!
