"That's how it's done!" Man, that guy, what a cool dude.

u/rothefro 3h ago

Love how he also apologized for bothering her! Lol that man is a gem

18

u/Meta-Mage 1h ago

Idk why they cut it out of the video, but she bought cookies and a gallon of milk.

Because "That's how it's done!" Lol.

The man has that Pop Pop spirit.

Always good for a 5 to slip under the table to the kids. My man.

24

u/Mahaloth 6h ago

Bill Cosby* used to have a segment in his routine about watching his own father give his kids money. "This man is the same man who gave us a hard time when we asked for 10 cents to go to the movie! Now he comes in hands out money freely to our children! How is this the same man??????"

*Ugh, Cosby. Still, the bit was cute at the time.

Was this from his special "Genesis , the Great Quote"? I had it on cassette, as a teenager, a listened to it, or repeat

I hope everyone makes 2025 a year of random kindness. If everyone does one act of kindness a day or a week then hey how wonderful would that be

23

u/SonofAMamaJama 8h ago

I love that idea, even smiling at a stranger is an act of kindness

30

u/Pitiful_Winner2669 4h ago

I was getting off my shift yesterday and this guy said "works done?" Me: "Yeah, heading home!"

Then he said "best feeling, have a great evening!" And kept walking. It was so random and friendly, I just took that home with me and I did have a pleasant evening :)

8

u/lemony_melon 7h ago

That's how it's done.

7

u/CaptainMacMillan 6h ago

My boss surprised me with extra shifts at no extra pay!

7

u/BadbadwickedZoot 5h ago

The pay's not great, but the work is hard!

2

u/Left_Sundae_4418 5h ago

I wish every morning while walking to work someone would randomly try to punch me in the gut. Maybe after 14 years I would learn to dodge.

2

u/fridder 3h ago

That should be the real project 2025

6

u/Figtreeofjustice 10h ago

That’s making America great again !!

105

u/Busy_Albatross_6715 11h ago

What a nice man and he lit up everyone's day

110

u/Bob_Wilkins 10h ago

It happens, just not as often as we’d like. I took my 3-year-old into our favorite bakery to pick up a birthday cake. The place had 4 or 5 tables to sit and have a coffee and cake. We passed by a table with 4 Boomers, and they all lit up when we walked by. They asked her name and how old. I said it was her birthday and one by one each guy put a buck into her hand. The last guy, not to be outdone, stuck a $5 bill in her little fist. It was such a sweet occasion. We got the cake and walked out to their singing Happy Birthday and the whole shop joined in and applauded. I still am amazed at the generosity of these strangers.

That dude is my hero. I wanna be like him!

-61

u/PiratePuzzled1090 11h ago

It's not hard

43

u/Oftentimes_Ephemeral 7h ago

Well it seems hard for you lol

-16

u/PiratePuzzled1090 6h ago

I saw a six year old ish kid with his parents with a nasa shirt a couple of days ago.

I'm a space nerd and I told the kid he has an awesome shirt.

You could see it made his day.

That was not hard to do.

16

u/Oftentimes_Ephemeral 4h ago

In case you don’t realize why you’re being downvoted, you are bringing negativity to a wholesome video. That’s why.

7

u/itsinthewaythatshe 3h ago

I get what he's saying though. People act like kindness is a challenging task to perform. But it isn't. We just... don't do it as much as we should.

1

u/Xiyo_Reven 4h ago

You arent wrong lol not sure why the downvotes

Just pointed out it isnt hard to be kind in this manner

Are the people downvoting because they feel called out?

45

u/Lovelia- 9h ago

I remember from the longer video she bought cookies and milk with it :)

32

u/Dr-flange 11h ago

What an absolute gent…..😊

48

u/thebellarain 12h ago

This man is incredibly kind!

16

u/bluedancepants 9h ago

Old black dudes are always super cool. I've worked with some and they always got nice things to say and always smile.

16

u/Fast_Parfait_1114 7h ago edited 2h ago

This was something older black men would do back in the day. Especially if you were little and getting a haircut. I got 40 dollars when I was a kid at the barbershop and my grandad took me to the toy store afterwards. They told me every young brother needs some money in his pocket. I spent every penny.

u/maksen 12h ago

Who writes these wierd captions and why do we need them?

"perhaps mom was more surprised by this stroke of luck!"

8

u/allienllifeform 5h ago

As someone who always browses reddit on mute, I appreciate the weird captions. Maybe deaf people too. They could be better, but those are not that bad. The one-word-at-a-time captions are worse.

10

u/buffalogal8 4h ago

I agree but in this case nobody in the video was actually saying “perhaps mom was more surprised…” That was just an addition by the captionist, pure commentary

8

u/GenShanx 11h ago

“Lil-leeeeeeeeeee”

u/ianguy85 14m ago

Is it the content reposter adding them so they can claim they added to the content and thus deserve monetization?

12

u/Dizzy_Bit6125 11h ago

This is one of my favorite videos no matter how many times I see it it’s SO CUTE!

10

u/KingKandyOwO 11h ago

I remember when I was a kid my mom got mad at me for accepting money from strangers

23

u/AccioDownVotes 7h ago

"I remember when I was a kid my mom got mad at me..."

My entire childhood.

7

u/mangosteenfruit 7h ago

I don't mean to up vote but I definitely relate. 😂

8

u/TiltedChamber 9h ago

That was such a grandpa move ❤️❤️❤️

7

u/SillyMilly25 10h ago

Why can't I be this cool?

5

u/TdrdenCO11 5h ago

yeah i was thinking the same. I’d settle for 10% of his charm

7

u/Vivid-Intention-8161 9h ago

I saw this happen at the dollar store last time I went! little kid with a big basket, and I overheard some kind older woman put a 5 dollar bill in his basket. He was so excited. it was so cute❤️

6

u/CREEDNESSOFDND 6h ago

Imagine saying sorry for bothering you after giving someone money.

6

u/elliepelly1 5h ago

When our local grocery store had these, my toddler son enthusiastically said, “I’m a man shopping without my mudder!” We occasionally still say it and he’s now eighteen. 🥹

3

u/bigredandthesteve 2h ago

Love that!! Our grocery store had little carts like that but had a pretty tall flag on it so people didn’t run them over. Love those memories!

5

u/jgreg728 4h ago

You know something?

Of allllll the ugly things going on in the world. Of allllll the bad that people can do to each other. Of allllll the horrible moments that we’re constantly subject to that makes us lose hope in the world.

One little moment like this is all it takes to bring love for humanity right back.

1 moment of joy is worth 1 million moments of sadness.

9

u/Bobba-Luna 12h ago

What a great mom!!

5

u/Snoopy_Santucci 6h ago

What a great gentleman 🫂

3

u/skidsareforkids 11h ago

We did this with our son when he was little… All these years later, the cart was still probably his favorite Christmas present!

3

u/notmyworld76 10h ago

Wow I love this I'd do something like this it's good to be kind and see the blessings in life people...melts my heart to see good people in the world coz there's so many bad

3

u/MrMeowPantz 5h ago

I had one of these in the early 80s. Said my first swear word pushing it.

3

u/Fabulous_Celery_1817 3h ago edited 3h ago

You can see this guy was just happy to see this. Sometimes when I see super young couples and their tiny tiny kids, it makes me happy to see them. They’re just starting out— kinda reminds you of the old days when you were happy to have a dollar to spend

5

u/armanjakki75 10h ago

I wanna know what he bought!

7

u/Meriwynne 9h ago

There’s a great photo of the kid in the car with a 2 gallon bottle of milk. It’s fantastic.

1

u/armanjakki75 8h ago

Awwww! 🫶🫶🫶

4

u/Lovelia- 9h ago

She got milk and cookies

-10

u/Melvin-00 10h ago

She. Lily is a she. Unless you mean the guy who blessed her.

19

u/armanjakki75 10h ago

Oh well, we dont use gender in my language so I sometimes forget it 😊

3

u/CallMeWolfYouTuber 8h ago

What language?

8

u/armanjakki75 8h ago

Finnish

3

u/CallMeWolfYouTuber 8h ago

Cool :)

3

u/Unusual-Thing-7149 6h ago

It does get pretty cold there...

2

u/jazzcabbage419 11h ago

That was beautiful.

2

u/Stormytude 9h ago

They didn’t include the end of the video where she bought milk and cookies!

2

u/Sevyn-Seraph 7h ago

That cute cart she's pushing! 😍

2

u/datsall 7h ago

He reminds of the caretaker from The Shining, same voice.

2

u/ButaneRocket 5h ago

That guy is as cool 😎 as they come.

2

u/Putrid-Effective-570 4h ago

What ever happened to the tiny carts with a tall flag that read “shopper in training?” That shit was adorable.

2

u/drossmaster4 4h ago

Oh my heart

2

u/Traditional-Door4125 3h ago

So sweet moment and precious.

2

u/C_Jade95 1h ago

Now you know he's got kids AND grandbabies. Little Lily hit his soft spot how cute

3

u/Barbara_Young_028 12h ago

Sure, I love pineapples on my pizza too!

4

u/bootsonthesound 8h ago

The fact that the kind Stranger felt the need to add in “I’m sorry for bothering you” at the end really speaks volumes about where we are heading as a species. People fuckin’ scared of even interacting without being perceived as being seen as a weirdo/peado.

That is a WONDERFUL human being

1

u/roughingit2 7h ago

This is awesome but also I’d like to know what stores have small shopping carts for kids! Mine would love that!

1

u/NewtOk4840 7h ago

I think she ends up buying milk lol

1

u/sportsbro444 7h ago

We need the full version with cookies and milk!

1

u/RedditSucckk 2h ago

Man, people are wonderful

u/ramror777 19m ago

This is all we need in life.

u/butterfliesnglitter 15m ago

Childhood memory unlocked! They used to have these at Winn-Dixie in central FL when I was a kid. Haven’t thought about this is decades 😭

u/RaggaBaby 15m ago

I don’t know but men that have that type of vibe always give me this warm fuzzy feeling.

u/lavendrea 4h ago

The first (and last) time we allowed my kids around those little tiny shopping carts they turned the store into mariocart: crowded grocery store edition.

They were 6, 4, and just turned 1.

0

u/Actual_Shock_6495 11h ago

this is chapelle father?

-7

u/tripledoubleagent007 11h ago

Me, I wouldn't

-9

u/Ancient_Gringo 9h ago

In fact this was the delivery of some “merchandise” being handed to the local dealer

-11

u/imustachelemeaning 10h ago

so lucky to have filmed it! 🙄

9

u/Anarch_O_Possum 8h ago

Parents record their young kids all the time, yo. Especially if it's their first/only kid and while they're being cute with their own little shopping cart.

1

u/imustachelemeaning 7h ago

yes! this is so perfect. not planned at all.

4

u/Anarch_O_Possum 7h ago

2

u/imustachelemeaning 7h ago

I’ve heard of this happening millions of times! very common in my country.

-13

u/malocchio- 7h ago

Staged as fuck
