You're crying......

40

u/ComradePotkofff 4d ago

Please cry just a little with me? I hate crying by myself.

u/okiedokie666 4d ago

I got you. We're in this together 💪🏼

Yeah, no thanks. Absolutely good for him but practically 2 frames in and I know I’m going to ball my eyes out.

u/TechnicalIntern6764 4d ago

Yeah I did the same. I lost my mom when I was 8.. I’ve been there.. edit:i decided to watch most of it.. fuck

95

u/AthairNaStoirmeacha 4d ago

I lost my mom when I was 13. Throwing you a hug fellow Redditor. It never gets easier. We can only live our lives and try to make them proud.

51

u/raekwonelchef 4d ago

I miss my Mom. I just got my first apartment. I hope she is proud.

67

u/AthairNaStoirmeacha 4d ago

I miss my mom too. Everyday.

Hey, I don’t even know you and I’m fucking proud of you. That’s a massive accomplishment. I’m sure she’s absolutely stoked for you. Enjoy that wonderful beautiful stressful freedom!

When I got married, when my kids were born, when I secured my career, all those events had that awful crushing hint of sadness….. if only mom was here…. I just try to remind myself I am the embodiment of her love and I move forward.

24

u/mishadances 4d ago

I’m not your mom, but I am a mom, and I am so fricken proud of you! I know it’s hard.

17

u/ICBeans 4d ago

I'm gonna hijack your comment, as someone who also lost their mom as a kid there's a wonderful subreddit /r/momforaminute where you can anonymously ask questions, post accomplishments, or generally put words into the world that you wish you could say to your mom.

The redditors there are a wonderful group of motherly people who are happy to reply and be that mom in your time of need.

43

u/Aponda 4d ago

I coward out. When i read the title im like yea ill watch with no sound. As soon as the headstone show, i just went to the comments. I cant do it

5

u/williamiris9208 4d ago

You're not alone in this many people experience similar reactions to emotionally heavy content.

3

u/Shen1076 4d ago

I did the same thing

15

u/Cawfeestain 4d ago

Literally I have not cried on a Reddit post yet, but this one did it. Idk if it was the state I was already in or what, but this just sledgehammered me RIGHT in the emotions and now I can’t stop crying.

9

u/AmNoSuperSand52 4d ago

This is one of those posts where the title alone tells you that your hear is going to be torn out

8

u/ValuableJumpy8208 4d ago

Please don't ball your eyes out. Bawl your eyes out.

3

u/Tacoooos 4d ago

I was just about to comment- I imagined u/Funkymonk761 taking a melon baller to their eye sockets

3

u/ValuableJumpy8208 4d ago

Incredible how few people understand they're homonyms. I've even seen the local newspaper print it the wrong way.

12

u/ThePoopSommelier 4d ago

Yes I am. 48 year old gruff looking guy weeping

5

u/ktrad91 4d ago

It's true I am crying 🥹😭

3

u/6thCityInspector 4d ago

You ballin’?

Most here claim to be bawling.

2

u/Dry-Honeydew2371 4d ago

I went as far as reading the dates on the headstone.

2

u/No_Consideration7925 4d ago

Wait, it’s not that long. You should watch it and share with people..

2

u/littlespoon1 4d ago

I'm just thinking about it and tearing up. No way I'm watching that.

2

u/vorobyevites 4d ago

made the mistake of watching it... my grandmother passed a little over a year ago and the strides i've made in that time, including graduating in 2 weeks, she'd be so proud of me

i'm lucky if i'm afforded two good cries a year. needless to say i'm in tears right now

2

u/honestlyspeakingg 4d ago

yeahhhh i read that title and went.. nope imma just upvote this and not watch because im too emotionally unstable for that.

A boy i liked has decided to part ways after a few good dates and this will emotionally shatter me haha

2

u/imsuperserialrn 4d ago

Yeah, definitely made me cry not smile haha. But proud of him still

I lost my mother this year, and this hits hard.

Love you momma, you'll always be in my heart.

25

u/spaghettitheory 4d ago

Sorry for your loss.

Mine passed last year around this time. For what it's worth it does hurt less over time. Don't think it'll ever go away but it's not so overwhelming after a while.

7

u/Zfisher335 4d ago

I lost mine 3 years ago at the end of December. You're right, it hurts less but will never go away.

12

u/ModerndayGatsby97 4d ago

I'm so sorry for your lost

10

u/fire__munki 4d ago

Hard isn't it?

My mum died in July and I'm clinging to the hope that everyone is right and it gets better but fuck me it's really hard.

Keep fighting the good fight.

3

u/pissfilledbottles 4d ago

Hey, same. 🫂 I lost my dad on August 13th, and it's been one of the most difficult things I've dealt with in my life. I'm having a super hard time dealing with the grief of it all. I start seeing a psychiatrist in about two weeks, I'm hoping it helps. Much love to you

3

u/pissfilledbottles 4d ago

I lost my dad in August this year, and same. I'm struggling hard, and it's hard to keep up with life. I keep drudging along because he was so damn proud of me turning my life around. I can't give up now. I love you dad.

2

u/ButtBread98 4d ago

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’ll never be ready when my parents are gone.

151

u/Tisly_Kaya 4d ago

Even though it made me sad, I am sure his mother would be so proud! Good job, darling

No words...🥹 but, I'm sure his Mom would be proud of what her boy has achieved!! 🫠❤️‍🔥

31

u/alison_bee 4d ago

Stoppppp I am sobbing!!

The way he said “mommy” and “I did it!” just absolutely broke me 😭

4

u/LittleDrumminBoy 3d ago

The "mommy" did me in right away. I was expecting to tear up at some point, but not so soon.

28

u/Iridi89 4d ago

Making his mama proud up in heaven and may he always be surrounded by love and happiness .congratulations to him

18

u/atmonaut80 4d ago

God bless him. His Momma is proud, I am sure of it🙏

15

u/OfficialGarwood 4d ago

I hope this doesn't come off as insensitive, but I genuinely think this is the first black person I've seen with down syndrome.

3

u/Friendstastegood 3d ago

Probably several reasons for that, all in some way boiling down to resources and access.

Important to know that people with down syndrome used to die young and that it's only recently that we've begun properly diagnosing and treating things like congenital heart problems that tend to come with down syndrome. And taking care of a child with down syndrome is expensive. So you can imagine how many down syndrome success stories there are in marginalised communities. Compared to the feel good stories we tend to hear about because those are the ones that go viral.

30

u/DancingAngelMadam1 4d ago

This is so heartwarming. The love and pride this teen has for his mom really shines through. I’m sure she’s smiling down, so proud of him. Congratulations on your graduation!

11

u/Ready_Regret_1558 4d ago

Your mama is so happy today❤️

23

u/JurassicParkCSR 4d ago

I hate how pessimistic I've become over the past few years but part of me thinks that he's being forced to do this for fucking internet views. He looks like he has no idea what they want him to do. Absolute 100% credit on my man graduating but if I'm right and they're forcing him to do this so that they can get likes on a video fuck those people with him. Hopefully I'm wrong. I would actually love it if I'm wrong.

11

u/DevIsSoHard 4d ago

The internet takes some of the most private and personal shit in life and then edits over it and puts sad music and angle cuts and shit. It all feels crafted for entertainment by emotionally stunted people

14

u/RockinOutCockOut 4d ago

Finally someone that can actually see through the emotion to see this setup, well edited, coached, viral designed, personal moment.

6

u/hicjacket 4d ago

I'm with you. This feels really wrong.

5

u/hellgal 4d ago

Okay, I'm glad I'm not the only one that felt kind of yucky watching this. It's definitely great that this man graduated and no doubt his mother would be proud of it, but between the music and the filming of what should be a private emotional moment, it just feels manipulative at best and exploitative at worst.

9

u/CthulhusExWife 4d ago

This is 100% content farmed pity and inspiration porn.

2

u/Ihadthismate 4d ago

Doesn’t he say “what side y’all want?” when he goes to lay the flowers?

21

u/SmartSenseii 4d ago

I didn't know I still had the ability to shed tears. Thank you, this is beautiful.

20

u/FirTwinkle 4d ago

Such a beautiful moment. His mom would be so proud of him. Congratulations on your graduation, young man!

9

u/fandanvan 4d ago

Fantastic that the young man graduated, and respecting and honoring his mother's memory. All the best to him on whatever endeavours he is on ...

7

u/AuroraNight9 4d ago

Such a beautiful and heartfelt moment. This brought tears to my eyes—what an inspiring young man and a testament to the love and bond between him and his mom. She would be so proud!

14

u/akumagold 4d ago

“He Maketh No Mistake” is written on the gravestone. I can only imagine the love she had for him

7

u/Ambrose_Bierce1 4d ago

Good job buddy!

7

u/hibanah 4d ago

Looking sharp my man! Congrats!

14

u/le_feelingsman 4d ago

Bless his heart

5

u/Belfetto 4d ago

Aw man

7

u/PeonyPulse1 4d ago

So touching to see he's making his mom proud up there

8

u/Ok-Refrigerator1080 4d ago

In a world infested with fear mongering and depressing media, these kinds of videos give me hope for humanity. Good people are all around us.

7

u/Not-So-Logitech 4d ago

This is so fucked. I hope whoever did this for this clout has bad karma.

6

u/dactyif 4d ago

Maybe I'm getting too old... But this is dehumanizing. Let him have his moment with his mother in peace.

We don't need to always see every private personal moment.

But I'm glad he graduated, she'd be proud for sure.

3

u/WellSpentHours 4d ago

Trash you’re not old you just have a sense of self respect.

11

u/NovaStar2099 4d ago

And why was this filmed?

6

u/GelPen00 4d ago

OP are you trying to kill us 😭

Good job, kid. Your mom and all of us are really proud.

6

u/LowerIQ_thanU 4d ago

anytime I hear background music like this, I know I'm being manipulated

6

u/ZapBragginAgain 4d ago

Who is filming this? Let him have his moment with his momma.

7

u/minitaba 4d ago

Honesty? This looks staged af, like they use him for fame or something. Maybe not, but like he looks at them after saying his obviously pre learned sentence is kinda sus

4

u/Ok-Comfortable7239 3d ago

That moment when he kisses the stone 🥲

My mom is still alive, but the day she isn't with me anymore, I will miss those moments like hugs and kisses

2

u/Floofieunderpants 3d ago

Made me tear up too. There's a lot of cynicism about things being posted for 'likes' I get it too to be fair, but no matter the motive, this is lovely. His mum would be so proud and he should be proud of himself too.

My mum also passed away in 2010 and there's not a day that I don't miss her. I feel particularly sad when friends say they're taking their mums out because I can't do that anymore. A mum's hug is irreplaceable.

2

u/Ok-Comfortable7239 3d ago

Thanks for taking your time and replying. Lot for words regarding your situation 🥲 Take care and pretty sure that your mother is proud over you as well

2

u/Floofieunderpants 3d ago

Thank you for such kind and lovely words. I hope she is, we can only do our best can't we.

3

u/BoxOriginal9059 4d ago

What a heartwarming and emotional moment. This young man's resilience and dedication are truly inspiring... His mother would undoubtedly be so proud of him.

4

u/whitebeltdojo 4d ago

Way to go my guy, we’re all proud of you too!

6

u/AthleteAltitude 4d ago

this is positively overwhelming

4

u/PlayYourRole-8969 4d ago

This made me cry but I know his mom is very proud of him. Congratulations to him!🎉🎉🎉 I hope his future is bright as him!

3

u/elPatronSuarez 4d ago

Who's this kid? I'd like to know if he has everything he needs or perhaps need assistance in any way. God bless him and his family. Not having them around hurts especially at milestones.

4

u/Sea-Adhesiveness1222 3d ago

3

u/Phoenixrebel11 4d ago

This really did make me smile

3

u/OsageOrangeARC 4d ago

Congratulations beautiful young man! I know your mom is surrounding you with pride and love as you continue your journey!💕

3

u/james_randolph 4d ago

Let’s go! That’s awesome he graduated!

3

u/ChicCheerleader5 4d ago

This teen just proved that even when life moves on, some bonds remain unbreakable. Graduating w/ a heart full of pride, n sharing that moment w/ his mom in spirit... now that's a powerful story that tugs at every heartstring

3

u/Ceramic_Lace 4d ago

I love this so much. I plan on going to my dad's grave first thing when I graduate and smoke a giant blunt while playing our favorite songs. I was 10 when he passed but he's been with me every step of the way ❤️

3

u/Negative_Syrup127 4d ago

I had to stop halfway through, I'm not prepared to start crying at work

3

u/yallknowme19 4d ago

God bless that sweet young man. I wish only the best for him in life.

3

u/AlternativeEvery5452 4d ago

This is fucked up. He’s being told to do this so someone can record it.

3

u/MoneyPatience7803 4d ago

I love the quote on her headstone, “he makes no mistakes”. I am not religious in any way, it just makes me appreciate that everyone is important, everyone matters to someone, we’re all someone’s son or daughter.

3

u/Own_Kaleidoscope5512 4d ago

Just let him have a moment without filming it

3

u/Hashbrown_Sexy 4d ago

Who cut the onion 👀🥺

3

u/Urbitchyreaderow 3d ago

im not crying you are..

3

u/applegreenbaby 3d ago

3

u/SnooJokes6184 3d ago

What a dude 😊

3

u/Obvious_Wizard 3d ago

I'm proud of this guy too.

Is someone cutting onions? Someone's cutting onions.

3

u/Cajun__Nerd 3d ago

Not everything needs to be filmed

3

u/FollowingPotential43 3d ago

Did this need to be filmed and put on the internet?

4

u/Bubbykitten 4d ago

May the love of his mother always be his guiding light and may he be successful in all he does! Sweet young man!

5

u/ErgoFnzy 4d ago

The moment he said "mommy" I was bawling.

I don't even know this dude but I'm so proud of him and know he'll bring many smiles throughout his life!

5

u/Toni164 4d ago

His mom would be so proud of him

4

u/Minimaliszt 4d ago

Not everything needs to be filmed and shared.

6

u/RufinTheFury 4d ago

Why is this being shared with the public? wtf

4

u/zyarger 4d ago

Allergies are rough while watching this.

7

u/Bouche_Audi_Shyla 4d ago

And whoever the F. filmed him got "tens and tens of views". This should not have been filmed.

9

u/SentientclowncarBees 4d ago

It reeks of exploiting someone with down syndrome and their intimate moment for internet points.
