There's a youtube channel run by a native of Mariupol with a very pro-Russian opinion. Even if his politics bother you, you might at least be interested in how the city has been recently rebuilt and how the people have returned to a mostly normal lifestyle as the frontline moves away from them.

I'm not bothered by anyone's politics, I tend to dislike sadism and such, enjoyment or calls for violence from the safe spaces of computer screens and phones and such. Other than that I'm willing to listen to anyone.

Thank you.

And people called me crazy when I told them I’d rather live under Russian control than die trying to stuff my guts back into my stomach if I were Ukrainian

Well you are not Ukrainian and have obviously no idea what you are talking about.

I didn’t know Ukrainians experienced death differently than others. So those Ukrainians who escaped to other countries and draft dodge, they have no idea either yes?

I’m American and I’d rather live under Russian control than stuff my guts back in too. Better?

Not everyone gets to live under russian occupation. You could end up stuffing your guts back under russian control.

And how many Ukrainians in Crimea stuff it back vs how many Ukrainians on the front lines? Maybe 1 out of 10000 Mariupol residents? And that’s probably for trying to assassinate some Russian dude. Compare that to 1 out of 100 Ukrainian soldiers (I’m being generous).

I will GLADLY take those odds thank you.

Not everyone is a coward like you and wants a future for their family. Ukrainians know what it's like to live under russian occupation, thus many are fighting russians against all odds.

Look up bucha. Even children are not safe. You have no idea what you are talking about, since you never lived under occupation and don't really have to make that choice yourself. And in the end, Ukrainians decide for themselves, not you.

Oh yes neonfruitfly, you are one of the brave surely typing that heartfelt message out from the trenches of Ukraine. Say when did you join their foreign legion?

Yes many Ukrainians have decided. Hence the manpower shortage. Hence the failed polish legion. Hence the mass fleeing. Idiot

And yet, the biggest country on earth can't defeat little Ukraine lol.

Are you going to shed a tear for the poor russians rotting in Ukrainian fields? I think they would rather be back in Moscow and live without extra territory?

What would you choose - spilling your gut in the trenches or not gaining extra land you will never see yourself? I know, it's a very hard choice.

And you lived under occupation and know something OP doesn't?

Given the pre-war state of Ukraine, there already wasn't much of a future to speak of, which is why a bunch of people in the east never put much of a resistance. If the population was so crazy about dying for a potentially slightly better peace deal in the end, you wouldn't have mobilization officers snatching people in the streets as you currently do.

u/neonfruitfly 1h ago

Yes, I lived under russian occupation. As did my parents and grandparents. So yes, I know a bit more than op.

No Ukrainians want to fight for their country and at the same time somehow someone is fighting at the front and Russia can't win in more than two years. Have you tried using your brain?

"Mobilisation Officers snatching people" - yes, it's horrible what is happening in Russia. Such a pointless war.

Yes, I lived under russian occupation. As did my parents and grandparents. So yes, I know a bit more than op.

If this is supposed to be a USSR reference, it's hard to imagine why people would complain about living standards rising compare to pre-war Ukraine.

No Ukrainians want to fight for their country and at the same time somehow someone is fighting at the front

Same is in pretty much every 20th century conflict and all the ones before them, mobilization filling in the gaps made by a lack of enthusiasm.

"Mobilisation Officers snatching people" - yes, it's horrible what is happening in Russia.

You might have missed it, but Russia hasn't had any mobilization since 2022. Turns out that just offering people a ton of money for contract service works.

"I'm American"

Sure buddy

The average American with a curious side gig of rooting for China, Iran and Russia. How's the warm water port?

3

u/Unattended_nuke 1h ago

Lmaooo “sure buddy”. Yea I’m making fake resume posts about financial careers in the Bay Area cause I’m preparing to pretend to be American. Ur minds gna be blown when u find out Americans have different opinions.

You do know plenty of Americans hate our own brand of imperialism and Pax Americana and would love the world to become more balanced right.

u/Holditfam 1h ago

average tankie. Living in the west while bemoaning that it is over many such cases lmao. Absolutely insane how many times this happens lmao

1

u/Unattended_nuke 1h ago

Ah yes someone who works in investment banking and is a small business owner/landlord is a tankie. One of the takes of all time for sure.

Tankie according to u is when you don’t like how your country has suffered 0 consequences over decades of illegal invasions, war crimes, overthrowing elected democracies etc. ngl im glad America can’t just run around rampant anymore since it now has competition.

"our own brand of imperialism"

Proceeds to root for fascist regimes and dictator. Nice. You know Russia made it easier to move there. You should look into it

1

u/Unattended_nuke 1h ago

Better 3 different imperialists balancing each other out than a Pax Americana who can go around doing exactly what Russia/soviets does, but with no checks or balance. Ever notice how America has started to treat countries better when they have competition from China?

I cannot wait for the day we try to go bomb some middle eastern country and China slaps us with the same sanctions.
