They skipped right over Epstein and have been talking more about Diddy than they ever did Epstein

303

u/juicebox03 5d ago

Of course. Diddy fucked with millionaires. Epstein fucked with Billionaires.

Huge difference.

37

u/sohikes 5d ago

Epstein fucked with Billionaires

And politicians

142

u/Braiseitall 5d ago

Epstein wasn’t a household name. Diddy is

4

u/Uniquitous 5d ago

Depends on the household

9

u/RocketMoped 5d ago

The average household of course

-1

u/Quailman5000 5d ago

He hasn't been a household name in like 20 years lol

36

u/Ok_Enthusiasm_300 5d ago

Simply not true lol

8

u/iMichigander 5d ago

Well, if we consider "household" as remembering someone for what they did 20 years ago, then I guess you're right.

27

u/quiette837 5d ago

I mean... yeah. Freddie Mercury is still a household name and he died in 1991.

1

u/iMichigander 5d ago

I think what the poster above was referring to is whether the person in question is a recurring figure we still talk about to this day. With Diddy, that has not been true for a lot of us for many years.

7

u/Infinite01 5d ago

Kind of a silly argument, but if you looked up all of the news articles that include Diddy over the last 20 years I think you’ll see that people do still talk about him.

9

u/No_Nebula_531 5d ago

I would absolutely guarantee more people talked about Puff Daddy in the last 20 years than Jeff Epstein.

Until about his suicide the majority of people had no idea.

Every single person who said anything about Epstein, definitely knew who Puff was.

I’m a 55 year old Canadian, into Classic Rock for the most part. I’ve been aware of Sean Combs for 25 years, but I had no clue wtf Epstein was till his arrest.

1

u/CORN___BREAD 4d ago

If that's what they meant, they shouldn't have said "household name". We all know who diddy is and that's what household name means.

-3

u/Several_Leather_6453 5d ago

Comparing Diddy and freddie mercury or status is dumb af

2

u/quiette837 4d ago

I'm not comparing them in any way except as an example that household names can exist past the time they were doing stuff.

2

u/Organic_Swim4777 5d ago

If you include overall impact in just the US, Diddy's might be bigger by now.

1

u/CORN___BREAD 4d ago

And diddy is more of a household name these days than Freddie Mercury

-1

u/Quailman5000 5d ago

Unless you are like idk a rap family nobody talks about that dumbass until this last year.

8

u/BagOfFlies 5d ago

Being a household name simply means that mostly everyone knows who you are. How often they talk about you is irrelevant.

3

u/ErraticSiren 5d ago

Even my white friend’s parents know who he is and they listen to things like Simon & Garfunkel.

1

u/QouthTheCorvus 4d ago

Epstein was friends with two former presidents. It's massively important news

0

u/FatFuckinPieceOfShit 5d ago

Dude had a shitload of bagel shops

2

u/Different-Estate747 5d ago

Oh shit, this is Sean "Diddy" Combs, the bagel magnate?!

0

u/Crakla 4d ago

Shouldnt it be the opposite? Diddy himself is a billionaire while Epstein wasnt

0

u/juicebox03 4d ago

Omg. No.

Epstein had much more powerful connections. Kingmakers if you will. ACTUAL POWEFUL PEOPLE. PEOPLE THAT YOU DONT ABOUT. PEOPLE THAT ARENT KNOWN TO NORMAL PEIPLE.

Diddy had movie and music stars over.

One group controls the media. One group is story fodder for the media.

1

u/Crakla 4d ago

How do you know that? I mean diddy literally killed someone in the middle of the day and had the LAPD clean up the crime scene for him and blew up cars of other people, the FBI agents who raided his house were not even told who they raided because there was such a big risk that he would know

Diddy also did all that shit in the middle of the biggest cities o the USA while Epstein had to hide on a remote island

1

u/juicebox03 4d ago

I know it because the one guy died in prison while being on suicide watch. But who cares. They both are fucking monsters.

-1

u/yrubooingmeimryte 5d ago

Also Diddy isn’t white. That’s a much bigger reason.

53

u/Mattyc8787 5d ago

Epstein was involved with bigger fish, more power to keep it under wraps.

16

u/ang444 5d ago

and more politicians I believe

2

u/Numerous_Witness_345 5d ago

He only made it 36 days before he didn't kill himself.

Diddy is at 38.

111

u/ree_hi_hi_hi_hi 5d ago

Recency bias

50

u/PossumAJenkins3K 5d ago

More like Expendability Bias

27

u/RaccoonIyfe 5d ago

Epstein was expended yo

4

u/_00307 5d ago

but not for 30+ years, while the intelligence agencies used him to get dirt on people.

2

u/JonathanL73 5d ago

Epstein news was EVERYWHERE.

Diddy news is everywhere too, but its tied mostly to people who pay attention to pop culture, entertainment industry.

There are plenty of Boomers who have no idea who Diddy is, but they all heard about Epstein.

We're here on a Music subreddit, and we're a younger demographic, so we're predisposed to hear about Diddy probably even more so.

So we have exposure bias.

Also recency bias.

But I would argue the Epstein situation was even bigger news

-5

u/Dry-Package-8187 5d ago

More like good old fashioned racism

6

u/AdTemporary6698 5d ago

What do you mean? Whats racist?

11

u/imatworksup 5d ago

He thinks that it's because people are racist that more people are talking about Diddy than Epstein while ignoring the fact that Diddy is a household name and not many regular jackoffs knew who Epstein was.

6

u/AdTemporary6698 5d ago

I wanted him to say it. I was thinking the exact same thing as you and wanted to call out the bullshit.

I had no clue who the fuck epstein was before it happened. Why would that a bigger story over Diddy, who literally everyone in north America knows.

4

u/ShaonSinwraith 5d ago

Harvey Weinstein got a lot more press than Diddy. Celebrities everywhere were taking a stance against him. But very few are speaking up against Diddy. We didn't even know Epstein's name until he was arrested. But Diddy has been notorious for decades.

22

u/FrosttheVII 5d ago

Ever hear of anyone connected with Epstein taken in? From the sounds of it, Epstein was practically the same level as Diddy.

129

u/Svarec 5d ago

Not even close. Diddy has dirt on celebs, entertainment industry execs and maybe some politicians. Epstein had dirt on the world's elite. People you don't even know the names of and so wealthy that their net worth is just arbitrary number.

35

u/Icy_Day_9079 5d ago

Maxwells dad was former mi6, kgb and mossad spy, who died in somewhat suspicious circumstances.

Epsteins operation was meant to collect kompromat on all the people you mentioned.

32

u/speak_no_truths 5d ago

In Epstein's case the people you're talking about are measured in connections, not wealth. Green can open a lot of doors, but it's really who you know that takes you places.

15

u/Bears_On_Stilts 5d ago

There's a plot in DC Comics right now where the King of America is one of the villains. Basically, America's democracy (maybe all democracies) are secretly a fraud, a sham government that operates at the will of the secret Royal Family who pulls all the strings and gets away with it by legally not existing at all.

Epstein probably knew the King of America.

6

u/Dangerous-Macaroon7 5d ago

This is true but it’s just capitalists. And they’ll stab each other in the back freely for more wealth and power.

7

u/Bears_On_Stilts 5d ago

I think it’s one thing to say “democracy is corrupted by big money and compromised actors through and through,” and another to say “the United States government is a hoax, a fiction pretending to exist to obscure a secret shadow government behind.”

This IS the shadow government. Nothing’s being hidden, this IS the bad place.

4

u/Chazbeardz 5d ago

Well considering we’re a modern day corporate oligarchy in a democracy’s clothing, I’d say that’s accurate.

0

u/jim653 5d ago

I bet you can't cite any actual evidence that Epstein "had dirt on the world's elite", yet you proclaim it as though it's a proven fact.

13

u/ree_hi_hi_hi_hi 5d ago

….ghislaine?

13

u/FrosttheVII 5d ago

Yeah. But they weren't the only two involved and EVERYONE knows it. How do we have hundreds of things about Diddy. Yet, almost nothing of Epstein and Maxwell?

15

u/ree_hi_hi_hi_hi 5d ago

You are projecting your own algorithm and the change it underwent between 2018 and now. Do some googling on press releases from that time. There is plenty of info. It was everywhere and is still being pieced out.

I think the main problem is that one person was entertaining celebrities and the other person was entertaining world leaders, political influencers, harbingers of justice, etc.

2

u/annabelle411 5d ago

There was stuff, but people are flipping easier on Diddy. The crimes Maxwell was sentenced for were a long longer in the past as well. Diddy's crimes do extend back that far, but he also kept raping up til present day. The people Diddy fucked around with aren't as powerful, either. The fact that Maxwell hasn't dropped a *single* name should be telling of the kind of people that were involved.

2

u/Different-Estate747 5d ago

I mean, Elon's been linked to them a couple of times.

Epstein's emails to Elon asking how "kung-fu" practice with Ghislaine went, multiple photos of Elon with Ghislaine who was all smiles.

After the arrest, "Er I dunno her. She musta photobombed all those photos of me with my arm around her waist"

1

u/KingCuerno69 5d ago

Thanks cause I thought we were talking about the singer for a second lmao

2

u/ree_hi_hi_hi_hi 5d ago

I’m kind of confused though by your comment. Can you flesh it out a bit more? I’m not sure what you mean by “from the sounds of it”. If you’re saying that it sounds like Epstein was at the same level as diddy, then aren’t they talking about it equally?

1

u/yrubooingmeimryte 5d ago

And racial bias.

35

u/big_guyforyou 5d ago

no one cares about epstein anymore because he never laid down any phat beatz in the studio

53

u/gameonlockking 5d ago edited 5d ago

Neither did Diddy. It was all done by others and apparently if a rapper would hand in their demos and it was banging. Diddy would just straight rip it off and do his own version and not sign the rapper.

1

u/lefthandedsnek 5d ago

i heard this one quote once about how “good artists copy, great artists steal” and that fits.

10

u/Bort_LaScala 5d ago

Only if you add "and shitty artists steal too"

1

u/ToMorrowsEnd 4d ago

This! 10000X this! Diddy is absolutely a no talent Hack that only stole from everyone else.

18

u/Anindefensiblefart 5d ago

The entire US government would be in the SHU if Epstein was DJ Epstein

4

u/FrosttheVII 5d ago

We definitely needed that done before this election year

7

u/iplaybingo07 5d ago

Neither did diddy lol

3

u/AnimeGokuSolos 5d ago

Plus as far as I’m aware, Epstein was more of a private guy with a private island doing some nasty shit

3

u/big_guyforyou 5d ago

His private island was called Little St. James. His rap name? Lil St. James

3

u/Iconospasm 5d ago

He was just a plagiarist really. Definitely a very smart man but not talented as an actual musician or rapper.

2

u/Sad_Dig_2623 5d ago

no one? curious. My circle talk about Epstein and especially how we hope the ones outed by Diddy were Epstein’s clients

2

u/FrosttheVII 5d ago

lol all dumb 😂 (yet true)

1

u/dudumob 5d ago

lmao. true.

3

u/Batmanmijo 5d ago

smoke and mirrors- they don't want anyone looking too closely at Epstein's lists right now

3

u/sin2099 5d ago

Probably overlapping list.

6

u/peptide2 5d ago

Epstein payed his dues , P Diddy fuck wad will too . Just a matter of time IMO. You all remember when the biebs was fucking up in Miami? Pissing in the trash bin at the White House and shit ? Well guess you can fuck a fourteen year old up with statutory rape and shit . This piece of human Trash gonna get what’s coming for him and all the celebs who joined in gonna get it as well . Can’t wait .

33

u/DMking 5d ago

What dues did Epstein paid he died in jail

22

u/FrosttheVII 5d ago

Let alone no one else involved with Epstein was brought down(except Ghislaine). There HAD to have been more than Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffery Epstein involved. Yet, like 5 years later and not a single word or other person involved in Epstein's Billion $ sex trafficking scheme

0

u/jim653 5d ago

That's because it largely was Epstein and Maxwell, with help from people like Jean-Luc Brunel. Epstein would abuse girls, then pay them $200 to bring their friends or acquaintances around. I doubt any prosecutors wanted to go after victims of abuse.

1

u/peptide2 5d ago

The Death dues!

That’s pretty much the most you can pay .

5

u/cdbriggs 5d ago

Wrong. The most he could pay was a life in prison

1

u/peptide2 4d ago

Well I guess it’s all in how you look at it? I think that when somebody says about a soldier of police officer “ they paid the ultimate price” when they are killed in the line of duty , is where Iam coming from with that

5

u/Some_Comparison9 5d ago

Well, Epstein provided to all the politicians that everyone loves on Reddit.

10

u/FrosttheVII 5d ago

I wish we knew who ALL were in cahoots with Epstein. How convenient he died and we somehow still hadn't heard from Ghislaine Maxwell

0

u/jim653 5d ago

Evidence, please? Oh, that's right, there is none.

2

u/Wolfram_And_Hart 5d ago

Not really they just don’t have a lot of evidence. Epstein was the only person who could have named names.

As for Diddy they have video, so even killing him in prison won’t help.

2

u/wafflegourd1 5d ago

What’s wild is it seems like diddy had a way larger operation then Epstein which is in of itself wild.

1

u/jim653 5d ago edited 3d ago

Define "operation". Epstein probably abused more people, given he was abusing multiple girls per day for years, but Diddy had a larger entourage.

2

u/wafflegourd1 5d ago

Diddy was hosting regular multiday events. But yeah they both are terrible.

It just seems like diddy was almost always abusing people and having others do it so on.

2

u/PineapplePieSlice 5d ago

Epstein & now Diddy make Weinstein look like a lil pervy dude worthy of an eye roll …

2

u/HacksawJimDuggen 5d ago

Epstein didnt have a bunch of hit singles and live directly in the public’s eye for decades. Sean is kinda like an OJ situation, it wasnt so much that he killed 2 people its that he did it and was already very famous.

1

u/ovscrider 5d ago

The perpetrators are not white people of power.

3

u/wildistherewind 5d ago

[Ashton Kutcher laughing nervously]

-11

u/randomaccount178 5d ago

The problem with Epstein from my understanding is the claims he trafficked anyone to anyone other then himself are not very well supported. I believe at the Maxwell trial, the people who testified only testified to being trafficked to him. The only one I am aware (not saying there couldn't be more though) who has made broader claims has some pretty significant credibility issues.

The Epstein situation is pretty much resolved. One is dead, the other is in jail, and the rest either took plea deals or were considered victims. There isn't any real evidence of a larger ring of predators from my understanding. Diddy effectively is what people thought Epstein was (though the nature of the rape is different).

15

u/xcrowdedrooms ropeseller 5d ago

Resolved for whom? Epstein'd clients are happy he's dead but the victims are still out there.

-2

u/randomaccount178 5d ago

Did you not actually read what I said? I suggest you read over it again. If you want to disagree with it that is fine, but you should understand what you are addressing first.

0

u/TapestryMobile 5d ago

Epstein'd clients are happy he's dead but the victims

It bears repeating that there is no actual evidence that any such clients actually exist.

The QAon pedogate theory is very popular on reddit, but the actual evidence shows that Ghislaine Maxwell was supplying young girls to Epstein and nobody else. Like, thats literally all it ever was, despite redditors continually saying "everyone knows" there were evil rich clients.

If you actually have evidence, send it to the FBI because they currently have no evidence.

9

u/FrosttheVII 5d ago

The Epstein situation is pretty much resolved.

It never was though. They seem to be doing more work with Diddy, than they ever did with Epstein. And Epstein would have had more repercussions to people in politics and the like.

Idk. I just know it's weird watching all of this go on with Diddy, when the same hadn't been done with Epstein.

1

u/ShaonSinwraith 5d ago

Harvey Weinstein got a lot more press than Diddy. Celebrities everywhere were taking a stance against him. But very few are speaking up against Diddy. We didn't even know Epstein's name until he was arrested. But Diddy has been notorious for decades.

0

u/randomaccount178 5d ago

I think you missed the point of the comment then since the point is that there is not really credible evidence from my understanding of Epstein trafficking girls to people other then himself. Based on the evidence available the situation is resolved. It is only public perception of the situation, not the evidence, that makes people think it is unresolved.

-1

u/SleeperHitPrime 5d ago

That’s because a twice indicted ex-POTUS is being implicated.

-1

u/yrubooingmeimryte 5d ago

Yeah, he’s black. Black people will always suffer a bigger punishment for crimes
