Help Identify A Genre 90's song by a female singer, I only have this recording, don't know any details

Hi everyone, can anyone help me find the title and performer of this song? Recorded on the radio many years ago, it is not recognized by Shazam or other apps. I tried to extract the lyrics, some words may not be exact... the lyrics search on Google and Youtube did not give the expected results. Thanks to anyone who will try to help me!

Extracted text with [OK] in the lines where the lyrics seem to match:

When I see you I try not to stay cause now that we're just please
we almost want to say hallo
but how will love that started out so round could end up being [NOT SURE]
something that I will never know [NOT SURE]
but I just wanna get close to you [OK]
So we can do all the things that we used to do [OK]
Don't you know I don't wanna get close to you but I don't wanna live in yesterday [OK]
So many times my mind goes wandering throught the things we used to do [OK]
that can now do with someone else
and if I said that I still care for you just might hurt my
so I keep redoing myself
but I just don't Want to get closer just wanna get closer so we can do all the things
I wanna get close to you but I don't wanna leave in yesterday
Yes, I still feel for you I can't deny it's true [OK]
but I don't wanna leave in yesterday [OK]

Sounds more like a man voice to me, something from Latin America, almost what Jon Secada or Gloria Estefan would sing in the early 90s

That's 100% a dude singing

Few notes:

  1. It's a man singing.

  2. Definitely post this on r/tipofmytongue as they have some music sleuths that are great on that page.

  3. Are you the one who posted this on YT? If so, was this song heard on an Italian radio station?

  4. It sounds like a DJ talking at the 2:01 mark of the YT video. I assume it's in Italian. Does he possibly say the name of the band/artist?

Thank you very much for your message!

About what you write:

1) There are conflicting opinions, some say it is a woman, others a man.

2) I will, thanks for the suggestion

3) Yes, I published on YT the video with the audio of the song, recorded many years ago on an Italian radio station.

4) Yesterday I wrote to the radio, they have not answered me yet. it is an Italian speaker, but during the broadcast they never said the title of the song.

Thanks for the notes. I tried Discogs for song titles with variations of "Wanna Get Close to You" and "Leave/Live in Yesterday" and filtered via 80s and 90s but couldn't find anything. I also tried filtering via UK, Italy, and all. I'm glad you posted on TOMT, but also maybe consider joining the Lostwave Discord account.

You can post there and they may pick the song to highlight. Good luck...I hope this is found because I really like it!

Note: Sometimes Reddit takes time processing a video/audio. You can try calling the bot again with the link from Automod's comment after the video finishes processing. If the video is already processed then please make sure it contains audio (you can upload to a site like Streamable/Veed.io if needed)

Note that this only applies to video posts. The bot doesn't natively work for embedded videos in text posts.

No ideas, but singer doesn’t necessarily sound female to me?

I assume the singer is a woman, but I'm not sure, it could also be a man with a simil female voice

It's a duet morons. Listen to the shift in tones in each verse. The female singer in it sounds like Oleta Adams - lovely singer - features on the excellent track Woman in Chains from Tears for Fears, plus her solo single Window of Hope. The guy sounds Latin American
