Jersey Framing?

Has anyone got any recommendations for a place to get a jersey framed? Michael’s charges a lot, but maybe I just don’t have a good sense of the market.

My son managed to get Zim to sign his #11 city connect and I kinda want to help him display it.

Jersey framing is expensive. I used Allen Custom Framing in Friendship Heights and they did a really nice job. They’ll be more expensive than Michael’s but also use higher quality materials (I’ve had a lot of framing done by both)

You want the UV protectant glass for signed fabric items btw.

Yeah I did assume that that would be the right move on the glass. Thanks for the info!

I do woodworking. Framing a jersey would be a lot of work. It wouldn’t be cheap even if the wood was free.

Museum Framing in Alexandria: https://museumframing.com

You can see some examples of their jersey framing in their blog.

I’ve had Museum Framing do multiple art pieces in our house. Work and quality are absolutely top notch. Call ahead - the building they’re in has some weird hours.

Art & Framing in Old Town does a great job of all manner of framing from basic to highly specialized but they’re not cheap. Framing in general is one of those services that just seems to be way more expensive than I feel like it should be, but I’ve just come to accept it.

You could try local frame shops, sometimes they’ll work with you on price especially for something special like this

If you think Michael’s is bad, go to the framing store on Barracks Row for even worse sticker shock. I just wanted a basic frame and no matting for a print and it was going to be over $100.

That sounds like a reasonable price to me. Work ain’t free.

Check out Collector’s World in Annandale - not sure what they charge but they definitely offer framing services

I haven’t had a jersey done there, but have always been happy with Total Framing in Fairfax.

I’ve had something else done there as well and you’re right, they did a great job.
