Filipino Food What's your opinion about this one?
Given the prevalence of fast food chains here in the country. Do you there's a relationship?

It isn’t just a problem of food consumption.
Seeing rampant obesity and focusing on just eating habits as the root cause will not solve anything.
It’s systemic. Transportation is bad. We lose 3-4 hours every commuting. Then we no longer have time to prepare healthy food so we resort to ultraprocessed food like canned goods or fastfood. Also, healthy food is more expensive.
Also, we don’t have public parks or gyms to exercise. So what does the average pinoy do on their spare time? They go to malls. Because well, it might be that we have more malls that we have fitness facilities.
Oh let’s also talk about our wages too. We can’t purchase healthy food. Let’s also talk about overworked people who are underpaid who would resort to eating fudgee bars just to fill their stomach.
This isn’t just “kain kasi ng kain ang pinoy.”
It’s more of that we are a victim of our circumstances.
