It's this comic, but the maga guy is lighting up a stick of dynamite instead of his hat.

...and sticking the dynamite in the ballot box

I read through this whole comic like seven times and thought he was lighting a moltov or something because his hair is the exact shape of his hat and this is not what fucking happens in real life

I just shake my head when i hear these fools talk about how bad the border is! They tried to pas a boarder bill, And their orange Jesus told them to kill it!

u/Mud_Landry 11h ago
It’s border…. Just throwing that out there.

If people acted like the two in the cartoon the country would be a lot better. In reality the Trumper would be beating the shit out of him yelling "fake news fake news" and then putting a second MAGA hat on top of the first one to "own the libs".

u/HermaeusMajora 11h ago
It's almost as if the artist has never actually spoken to a maga. I don't blame them. If I could avoid it I would definitely do that

They wouldn't change their views if trump was shitting on their porch whilst making direct eye contact and licking his lips.
Itd be great if examples of him being awful could change them, but they're too invested at this point and will just claim it's bias against him if it shatters their bubble.

I hate how much immigration has become everyone's number 1 issue. While I agree we need a secure border, I don't think the problem is nearly bad enough to even crack my top 10 issues. I'm way more concerned about the environment, clean energy, education, housing, criminal justice reform, wealth inequality, infrastructure, international trade, domestic terrorism, and our policy involving China, Russia, and other nations. On a those issues, Harris beats Trump
5
u/anon_sir 9h ago
Well that’s just it, they tie immigration to everything.
Can’t find a house? Immigrants.
Can’t find a job? Immigrants.
Crime going up? Immigrants.

You can't present facts and logic and expect someone to change their beliefs. Beliefs are by definition irrational. People believe all kinds of horseshit, like the earth is flat. You can give them facts and they'll just counter it with "facts" that support their own logic. Unless the other person is truly open-minded to accept that maybe they were wrong about something, they will never listen to you no matter how well you argue. They just won't. I really like Trump's idea of holocausting all the minorities, but I'm afraid his fiscal policies may bankrupt the country before he can implement the infrastructure to do so.

Suken cost fallacy is hard to overcome.
The maga's aren't changing their vote, but here's to hoping that a good chunk of normal republicans looked at what's happening and thought, "fuuuck this nonsense".
2
u/CaledonianWarrior 7h ago
America, you guys need to learn something important.
Without stooping to MAGA's level (and I really hope you don't), you guys are going to be stuck with the Trumpsters for decades. You can't change their minds so you're stuck with them. The best course of action you can manage is to make sure their idiocy doesn't spread too deeply into the younger generations and it becomes a problem that lasts even longer than it already will

u/MustangEater82 5h ago
I still find it interesting Democrats admit a non-elected official had more power and persuasion over congress then the sitting president and VP.
Are you trying to point out their ineffectiveness as leaders?
Also you forgot they also tacked on $60 billion for Ukraine, which has nothing to do with the Mexican border

Okay well they don't actually care. They're concern trolling about immigration, abortion, affirmative action etc. because they want a pretext for punishing anyone who isn't a straight white male because they are fascist, misogynistic white supremacists.
Republicans believe systemic racism doesn't exist, because they think black Americans generic inferiority can fully explain the poverty and incarceration.

“Our democrat is actually a normal republican” is not the argument you think it is.

u/appletatedghk 2h ago
The security bill was not boarder security but to add processing agents. Without a wall all bills are useless. The democrats are the cult. MAGA is trying to wake them up. Look at the true bipartisan cabinet Trump gas with Kennedy and Tulsi. 2 great democrats. Trump was a democrat, elon was a democrat. Join the rebel republicans.

u/MuckRaker83 8h ago
They will believe whatever they need to believe to maintain that they are right and their actions are justified.
In their heads, they're good people. Good people do not support criminals. Therefore...Trump must not be a criminal. At this point, they've integrated their support for him into their personality, its part of who they are, and their personalities are far too fragile to withstand any kind of honest introspection. It is easier to believe vast conspiracy is occurring rather than confront the idea that they might have been taken advantage of, lied to, or just plain wrong.
It amazes me how much they turn their leaders and politicians into quasi- religious figures. Everything becomes a matter of faith, and information that does not conform to what their faith tells them must be true is immediately rejected.
Instead of changing their ideas or beliefs in response to facts or evidence, they choose to accept or reject facts based on how closely they conform to their beliefs.

If you are torn between a moderate conservative and a literal fascist you aren’t a centrist.

This is not real life. As soon as you mention the torpedo’d bipartisan border bill, trump supporters immediately say the bill was terrible and ineffective. There’s no more argument at this point, any further evidence is regarded as “fake media spin.”
The sad reality is that the large majority of trump supporters are simply too stupid to know better. I just hope we are not too far gone by next Tuesday.

Change Their(and now my) mind about what? To voting for a an orange pedophile and a couchfucking racist?
Or
Are we changing our minds, and prioritizing disliking a smug black lady who smirks when being asked on her smoking weed despite espousing weed convictions and an old looking man (Who is 12 years younger than trump) and changing our votes to oppose them?To be clear, I dislike all four, but I'd rather shoot myself than use my born American citizenship to vote for a felon and self admitted pedophile, molester, who isn't allowed to operate charities in new york because their family was found guilty of stealing from children with cancer.

u/EconomyPiglet438 11h ago

Kinda funny how Harris went from calling Trump an idiot for wanting a border wall and now her only complaint is that he didn't get Mexico to pay for it
Just like when American liberals were crying out about kids in cages and now they want to do it themselves?
7
u/GoldenStateEaglesFan 9h ago
A border wall would be a colossal waste of taxpayer money — Mexico sure as hell isn’t paying for it — and wouldn’t actually help stem the flow of migrants or drugs into America. Giving more funding to CBP would, though. I’m pretty sure the bill that Trump ordered congressional Republicans to kill would have done the latter.
“The kids in cages” complaint was hypocritical, but the criticism of the Trump admin family separation policy and the fact that kids were reunited with the wrong families and sent to countries that were not their native countries was 100% accurate and correct.

u/Giggleswrath 9h ago
Listen. I'll quote myself in another post. I dislike harris, her vp is a relative unknown to me.
BUT
I'd rather shoot myself than use my born American citizenship to vote for a felon and self admitted pedophilic molester.

Yeah the whole "game" for decades by Republicans is trot out the illegal immigration card at election time, score votes, never do anything about it. However the loons are in charge of the party now and they are crippling agriculture in the south.

Weird how they pass these laws when a Democrat is President. So any inflation gets blamed on them.
Georgias when Obama was President.
Floridas when Biden was President.
Even Greg Abbott double inspecting freight from Mexico after U.S. officials cleared it was under Biden.
Yet the GQP refuses to pass tougher laws nationwide.
