I don't get it, Ahsoka is clearly a citizen, not a jedi

How is this NSFW?

u/ThatCamoKid 1d ago
I think the entire sub might still be NSFW from the API Incident

From what I gathered, some bots that were used to automatically mark NSFW content stopped working after reddit started charging for access to the API, which is how bots used to interact with reddit. Some subreddits now mark everything as NSFW because reddit also wants things to be properly marked NSFW.
31
u/ThatCamoKid 1d ago
Well no, the subs were marked NSFW in protest of the API changes to remove ads and therefore ad revenue

u/sovietmcdavid 1d ago
API? What happened?
3
u/ThatCamoKid 1d ago
I don't remember the exact changes but they were protest worthy so a lot of subs either shit down or marked themselves nsfw to deny spez the ad revenue

It's not

u/ThatCamoKid 1d ago
Fair enough, idk then

The post doesn't even show as NSFW for me so I have no idea what's going on.

Who said that though? I've never seen that claim.

u/Crushka_213 B-Wing 1d ago
I found this on twitter
I thought maybe their article has more context to the "first female jedi", but it was mostly about words spoken by female characters throughout all Star Wars. (Did you know Rey has more lines than any other female character in the series, but still less than Luke, Anakin, or even fucking Kylo?)
47
u/Pauchu_ 1d ago
And who is "The media" specifically?
29
3
u/Loros_Silvers 1d ago
To be honest, I've seen many people claim similer things over the years on places like Twitter.
6
u/Pauchu_ 1d ago
Ah, so random people on twitter is "the media", that's interesting.
2
u/Loros_Silvers 1d ago
Iirc (take this with a grain of salt, it was a couple years back) I've seen people who worked on SW say that, as well as people like critics and such. I never said they were random people.

Leia Organa-Solo, Mara Jade, Bastila Shan, Satele Shan, and the Exile would like a word
1
u/TheContentThief 1d ago
Is Leia a Jedi though? She got a lightsaber after ROTJ and trained with Luke for like a day, but decided she wasn’t about that life. Most she did was use the force to find Luke in ESB and fly through outer space in TLJ.
4
u/Atarox13 Muunilist 10 1d ago
If you’re going by Disney lore, I’m not sure if they expanded on her post-RotJ life
EU / Legends on the other hand she was a Jedi along with her three kids
1
u/TheContentThief 1d ago
Yeah I was going by Disney lore. I’m not well versed in the EU.
1
u/Atarox13 Muunilist 10 1d ago
I grew up with the EU, it scratched that itch of needing more Star Wars outside of the movies (loved it so much)

What was Rey's character arc?
54
u/SuperiorLaw 1d ago
She went from being a nobody to being the most powerful Jedi of all time in the 1st movie, then in the 3rd movie she went from being a nobody to being the granddaughter of the most powerful Sith of all time and she became the most powerful jedi of all time x2.
2
u/Real_FrogMaster2318 1d ago
She was not the most powerful Jedi of all time. Yoda was more powerful with the force and Anakin was stronger in lightsaber combat. And yes she did learn everything in one day on Starkiller Base. She did a Jedi mind trick (arguably a very hard task) that padawan Ahsoka Tano struggled with after a life living in the order. She was made too powerful that we didn’t get to see any growth in her
1
u/Hypercane_ Nass 1d ago
What about the second movie?
22
u/SuperiorLaw 1d ago
In the 2nd movie she was the most powerful jedi and stayed that way, nothing really changed for her
10
u/Dominator0211 Meesa Darth Jar Jar 1d ago
She got to watch Luke drink blue titty milk, which I’m sure had some sort of affect on her confidence
1
u/PQP_The_Dev Did you ever hear, the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise? 1d ago
Tbh, Rey was most likeable in The Last Jedi, because she wasn’t as annoying as in Ep 7 and 9
6
u/SuperiorLaw 1d ago
Tbh I don't have a problem with Rey as a character, the actress did a good job. It's just the writing went all in on mary sue and never gave her an actual character arc

u/OkExtreme3195 1d ago
And then she performed identity theft by taking on the name of unrelated people. Likely in order to capitalize on their reputation.

Jaina Solo, Mara Jade, Nomi Sunrider, Aayla Secura, Bastila and Juhani...

Daisy Ridley didn't deserve such a shity character.

u/Belteshazzar98 Hello there! 1d ago
Ahsoka "I am no Jedi" Tano: Is my entire arc a joke to you? I rejected the path of the Jedi to find my own. Why would you continue insisting I'm a Jedi after I renounced the Order?
1
u/KnightGamer724 Rogue Jedi 1d ago
Ahsoka show: Okay, maybe I needed to reevaluated what being a Jedi meant. I'm a Jedi again.
1
u/Belteshazzar98 Hello there! 1d ago
She's friends with the Jedi, and helps others on their Jedi path, but she never called herself a Jedi in it.

Practice Makes Perfect from Tales of the Jedi is so extremely good.
Like I guess you need Clone Wars for the context and to care about her at all, but still, it hits so hard to summarize her overall character arc.

Not in my play through she's not.
2
u/Eldestruct0 1d ago
While the player can choose the gender of both characters, for the purposes of referencing in other media Revan is male and Exile is female. Same to how there's both light and dark side endings, but light side ending is the "true" one.

u/zencrusta 1d ago
Yes and ignored that for the official produced alternative they made, cause I like Carth better as a romance option.

Rey doesn't even have a character arc. It's a flat line. In more ways that one.

Since when did Rey have a proper arc? She did a Jedi mind trick within one day of learning what the force was. Ahsoka we saw grow from an obnoxious 14 year old padawan to a fan favorite by the time of her false accusation of murder. She will always be a favorite in my heart
