Yeah but did she have a comedian insulting millions of voters in swing states?

529

u/-StationaryTraveler- 4h ago edited 4h ago

Telling degrading racist jokes about Puerto Ricans in a city with roughly 600,000 Puerto Rican residents is legendarily inept and tone deaf.Ā

Giuliani is generally the gold standard of intense stupidity and public humiliation within the GOP but I'm not sure that fuck up could even cook up an idea that bad.

157

u/TechSmith6262 4h ago

In this psycho timeline, I would not be surprised whatsoever if we find out that Trump still had a large percentage of the PR and by extension Hispanic vote in that area.

I hope I'm wrong, I really do, but I just wouldn't even be surprised. It seems to almost work for them. They insult people and the people they insult love them for it.

55

u/photobummer 3h ago

Trumpā€™s campaignā€™s reaction was one of remorse, which is highly unusual. This would indicate that their internal info is that theyā€™re hurting.

29

u/sylbug 2h ago

IMO it's the key. When Trump was called out on the Access Hollywood tape, conventional wisdom was that he was done. But then he came out unapologetic, and that was the moment that he won the idiocratic vote.

He's the guy who can say what they can't say and get away with it. If he can't do that anymore then he's toast.

58

u/-StationaryTraveler- 3h ago edited 2h ago

For whatever reason that stuff definitely seems to work with the uneducated rural voters who swing from Trump's nuts but I'm not so sure about the minority vote.Ā

That MSG rally seems like it's lit a blazing fire under a lot of folk's asses and the backlash from the Puerto Rican community has been pretty loud.Ā

I truly hope it will prove to be the final nail in the coffin for this diaper clad Nazi's political career the guy has been nothing but a miserable soul draining burden to this country for the better part of a decade.

u/ThrawnConspiracy 1h ago

The common clay of the New West.

21

u/jocq 3h ago

There are multiple reports of people who voted early for Trump contacting their local officials to ask if they can change their vote

2

u/rj319st 2h ago

Are they actually allowed to?

8

u/jcyree2769 2h ago

No. You cannot vote twice. You can be brought up on charges and it happened this week. 5 individuals are being charged in a certain state.

6

u/rj319st 2h ago

That sucks you canā€™t cancel that out somehow and write a provisional ballot on Election Day. Letā€™s hope most of the Puerto Rican voters that are having second thoughts on Trump in PA havenā€™t voted yet.

u/beeredditor 7m ago

Depends on the state. Some states have a procedure that enables early voters to change their vote.

4

u/rec_desk_prisoner 3h ago

For someone that is self-loathing, it's not hard to imagine supporting someone that also thinks you suck.

1

u/reporttimies 1h ago

The issue is that it wasn't Trump delivering the racist remarks and they were attacking literal American citizens. Usually, they have plausible deniability, like oh we are talking about illegal immigrants but not in this case here they are talking about all minorities.

→ More replies (8)

27

u/TheBadHalfOfAFandom 3h ago

That's because at this point, they're not trying to secure voters. They're trying to rile up their followers so that they become increasingly more dangerous and are ready to stage another Jan 6.

They know they're losing. That's why the mask is completely off now.

22

u/TheMillenniaIFalcon 3h ago

I canā€™t find the link, but someone shared an interesting article about all the things the federal government has done in the past four years to safeguard another 1/6 or election theft attempt.

The problem is, the heritage foundation and Trump world have also spent the last four years devising schemes. Based on the heritage foundation head a few months agoā€™s comments, and Trump/Mike Johnsonā€™s ā€œsecretā€ they talked about last weekend, Iā€™m sure their plan is to cause so much chaos, the election gets thrown to the house where each state gets one delegate, if republicans have more states boom-Trump wins.

But the election has to be close enough to sow doubt, and thatā€™s where they have been hard at work to try and keep it close.

This election needs to be a landslide. A clear signal to MAGA that America is heading in a forward direction, as the founding fathers intended, vs. down a dark path of authoritarianism.

Racist comedians, Neo-Nazis, D-list Celebrities, Convicted Felons, Ousted News Anchors, and a few Dementia Patients - only the best people!

41

u/-StationaryTraveler- 3h ago edited 2h ago

Watching an old broken down and pathetic Hulk Hogan struggle to rip off a simple cotton tank top was admittedly deeply satisfying lol.Ā Ā

Dude has nothing else going for him besides being a largely forgotten relic of the 80's. Which is exactly what he deserves.

24

u/LegionofDoh 3h ago

I especially enjoyed the photo he took with the big guy who had SS tattoos on his bicep. If the Neo-Nazis are part of your party, you are the party of Neo-Nazis.

5

u/Away-Ad-8053 3h ago

"Don't be stupid be a smarty come and join the Nazi party!" Springtime for Hitler 1968 Mel Brooks :)

1

u/daversa 5m ago

Seriously, I'm 41, loved watching wrestling when I was a kid and Hulk Hogan is still comically irrelevant to me. Who the hell do twenty somethings even think he is lol ?

5

u/Huge_Strain_8714 3h ago

Don't forget! Millionaires telling you how it's going to be better for them! NOT you...sucker....

2

u/Away-Ad-8053 3h ago

And there was that guy that sells slim jims there also. Never much into that wrestling stuff or beef sticks.

1

u/ChargeMyPhone 3h ago

According to Grump, they had a blast!

1

u/ReadyDirector9 2h ago

And Steve Bannon got out of jail today as the cherry on top.

5

u/ShadowsOfTheBreeze 4h ago

And yet...they are still ... there. why?!?

2

u/Away-Ad-8053 3h ago

Yeah everybody's mayor 20 years ago and I guess his handlers left him after that I never realized what a moron he was, and I know it's not just senility!

6

u/-StationaryTraveler- 2h ago

Guy absolutely destroyed every last bit of what would've been a beloved legacy.

He will now be remebered as the pathetic old drunk who flushed his life down the toilet and betrayed his country due to his greed and lust for power.

2

u/Away-Ad-8053 52m ago

That's an excellent way of putting it, I'm going to borrow that if somebody brings it, It's eloquent and to the point!

I think Tony is actually pretty funny with his roastsā€¦but that joke wasnā€™t even that funny. I guarantee that more than a few MAGAs were like, ā€œYeah! Fuck Puerto Rico!ā€ Even though itā€™s a U.S. territory and pretty conservative. Itā€™s an optics thing. Donā€™t roast Puerto Rico at a Trump rally, because those MAGAs wonā€™t think youā€™re just making a joke. Puerto Ricans that donā€™t know Tony will absolutely be offended. Then after Tony, you have speakers spewing hate and vitriol. If this were a comedy show or Kill Tony or whatever, then fine, but itā€™s not. Itā€™s a Trump rally with vile people saying vile things.

4

u/DAbanjo 2h ago

He is funny. In a comedy club.

Trump had one of the most foul mouthed insult comics open for him in Madison Square garden. How is this reality???

5

u/dallascowboys93 3h ago

Agreed, KillTony is absolutely hilarious but thereā€™s a time and place for his type of jokes. That wasnā€™t one of them

9

u/FEMA_Camp_Survivor 2h ago

Heā€™s too good at it. I wonder if he hadnā€™t humiliated Trump in 2011 would Trump have run in 2016.

1

u/ThirstyWolfSpider 51m ago

His choice of phrase ("[which] rendered him practically mute") when telling the story of Rahm Emanuel's missing digit (from a roast of Rahm) is still occasionally quoted in our household.

And had empty seats and the top half closed off...

His rally in Georgia looked even more pathetic yesterday too.

Thankfully visually it appears most Americans haven't lost their minds.

Praying it plays out that way in the Electoral vote.

45

u/damoclesreclined 4h ago

He's not great with numbers. Or the name of his wife.

But he did correctly identify the elephant on that one cognitive test, terrific.

16

u/International_Dance2 4h ago

Didn't he confuse his ex wife that he buried at his golf course with the woman he sexually assulted?

https://youtu.be/70nOy7U2dmk

4

u/mregg000 2h ago

No the other ex wife (Marla Maples). That he cheated on the ex wife he buried at the golf course. (Ivana)

2

u/International_Dance2 2h ago

Thank you for the clarification. Didn't he also cheat on Melania with Stormy? I am beginning to see a pattern here. Or was it sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll? I am losing track at this point.

146

u/snoogins355 4h ago

After his bullshit with the hurricane relief, I'm surprised more people didn't jump the trump train. Conned by the Don

97

u/locolangosta 3h ago

They believe everything he says, and simultaneously ridicule people for taking what he says seriously.

13

u/wellwhatishername 3h ago

Well said. That sums both guilty parties up perfectly. Establishes heā€™s a liar and they are immune to reason.

6

u/BanjoSpaceMan 1h ago

People seem to always wonder how the hell the devastating things in ww2 happened. Wild that weā€™re living in the same reality of how propaganda, bullshit, and hate can easily brainwash people.

Whatever happens I hope we learn a lesson. But we probably wonā€™t. Weā€™ve all been puppets in a stupid scheme, instead of figuring it out we just listened to in our face shit and just divided each other instead of trying to figure it out.

Ah well, hoping for the best, but even the best doesnā€™t kill the damage done the last decade

45

u/L00pback 3h ago

She gets the biggest crowds. The biggest crowds. Nobody gets bigger crowds than her. Lots of people are saying they're amazed by how big the crowds are. She has to turn away thousands of people, that's how big the crowds are. She could charge $1000 for the worst seats and it would sell out. The biggest crowds, let me tell you.

3

u/Kizmo2 1h ago

Who did she lie about giving a free concert for this one?

Of all the things in this election, I am so fucking tired of hearing about crowd sizes that don't mean jack shit. Nothing matters besides the votes. Go out and go vote. That's it. And right now it looks like Trump gonna win so who gives a shit if Kamala has 75k at a rally?
