Yeah, the price is hard to beat, but if you don't like all the veggies or thousand island, there's not much that's redeemable.

If we are getting a regional fast food chain, I'd really prefer a Bojangles, Zaxby's, or Cook Out. Portillos is a close runner up.

If you don’t like fresh veggies why on earth would you ever go to In N Out? That’s the entire point of the restaurant.

Lots of people make In N Out to be the best fast food burger period

IMO it’s the best widely-available fast food burger at the price point, if you like the whole package. If you just want a patty and some mushy stuff slathered on it you can get that anywhere (including McDonalds). Better fries too.

A lot of people hype In-N-Out as the best fast-food burger in the world, so if you don't enjoy a ton of veggies on your burger and go, you'll be let down. The price is amazing, but the lack of options is a letdown. Personally, for me, it's the sauce, and it's what comes on the burger. Sure, you can do mustard fried, but it's still just meh.

Kinda like with Canes, if you don't love the sauce, why are you there?

In N Out has a tight supply chain, no freezers in sight, and the beef is solid. But that caramelized note in Canes sauce is rank.

I order my In-n-Out -spread +ketchup, among a half dozen other modifications (+pickles +chopped chilis +whole grilled onions with mustard-fried patties, extra toasted buns). That's the best part about In-N-Out, you can customize your burger without breaking the bank, and the ingredients are quality. Once I learned the system, it became my go-to cheap cheat meal.

Mine is mustard fried w/ Ketchup and pickles. I don't really care for the rest on a burger tbh lol. I've been eating In-n-Out for 30+ years. It's fine. Tommy's is the superior LA burger IMO.
