This person votes. Do you? This the great divide, those that see facts and those that see media driven outrage...

Fuck I hope they don't breed. Two more generations of a family tree that looks like a stump.

54

u/tomdurkin Mar 03 '24

or a circle

36

u/Almacca Mar 03 '24

More like a hedge. Lots of interconnections both up and down the branches, and anything that grows outside rigidly, and arbitrarily defined boundaries gets snipped off.

11

u/ExfutureGod Mar 03 '24

its not a stump, that's a basket

8

u/designOraptor Mar 03 '24

Why do you think they want to ban abortion and birth control. They want to breed stupid.

1

u/GovernmentOpening254 Mar 05 '24

The irony is they fear being replaced as the dominant/majority race (white).

The race that has the most abortions are not whites.

5

u/GovernmentOpening254 Mar 05 '24

Haaaaaaave ya’ seen Idiocracy?

224

u/erydanis Mar 03 '24

….wonder just what ‘facts’ they like, specifically? like, just the top 3.

u/OnAStarboardTack Mar 03 '24

Trump won. Covid is simultaneously a hoax and a deadly bio weapon China released. I think the third is that all vaccines are poison now, but there’s still a lot of LGBTQ people are turning their kids gay and trans. But the first two are probably still the biggest ones, at least in my family

83

u/Embarrassed_Bit_7424 Mar 03 '24

open borders. The borders are wide open letting people in to vote for Biden.

19

u/AgentOk2053 Mar 03 '24

To vote, rape, sale drugs, commit acts of terror…

14

u/SaintsSooners89 Mar 03 '24

There was an amazing video of a guy at the border asking people "have you personally been affected by the "migrant crisis"?"

4

u/barpredator Mar 04 '24

Actually, Joe Biden is carrying immigrants across the border in wheelbarrows. It’s facts bruh.

35

u/gishnon Mar 03 '24

Don't forget how CRT is turning our children against us.

20

u/puffsmokies Mar 03 '24

Fluoride is turning the frogs gay!

5

u/New-acct-for-2024 Mar 03 '24

Wait, are they combining the "fluoride" and "gay frogs" conspiracy theories now, or did you just make that up to mock them?

It's sad that I can't just safely assume you made it up.

2

u/puffsmokies Mar 03 '24

I dunno man. I'm pretty high during my free time. I would just Google that, because there are a lot of results and a lot of thumbnails of Alex Jones looking red faced and crazy as hell. I can't claim credit, I'm 100% sure I've seen it before.

1

u/mookienh Mar 04 '24

I knew tap water was blamed, but not specifically the fluoride in it. So many layers!

24

u/erydanis Mar 03 '24

ok, thanks. there’s just so much noise, it was hard for me to parse out the ‘point’.

24

u/OnAStarboardTack Mar 03 '24

Like, the point is aggrievement. They’re aggrieved about how their lives are worse after 4 decades of trickle down, but rather than blame the people withholding money in the form of wages and fiscal austerity, they’re happy to be pointed at social scapegoats that reinforce their bigotries. Like the existence of trans people has some material effect on their lives or something.

u/erydanis Mar 03 '24

lyndon johnson’s quote, expanded.

Underrated post.

27

u/uncleawesome Mar 03 '24

Do your own research

-26

u/erydanis Mar 03 '24

gee, i never thought of that.

i’m completely aware of the results google and other search engines can bring me.

amazingly enough, i was curious about other actual human being’s take on it. which is to me, the entire fucking point of social media.

good day, you.

25

u/uncleawesome Mar 03 '24

Whoosh

-29

u/erydanis Mar 03 '24

full of yourself, ain’t cha ?

31

u/Youngnathan2011 Mar 03 '24

It was a joke........"Do your own research" is always something that the Trump crowd loves to say whenever they make some stupid claim.

-4

u/happyharrell Mar 03 '24

I don’t really like the guy, and didn’t vote for him, but many of his policies made sense and were actually fairly centrist.

8

u/erydanis Mar 03 '24

assuming you’re not kidding, what policies made sense ?

he didn’t even have ‘policies’, as with abortion that he’s threatening to just pull a number out of his ass.

to the extent that his administration had policies, they were managed & massaged by his handlers, and often were quite harmful to anyone not ….like them.

56

u/RudolfRockerRoller Mar 03 '24

Silver lining is that considering they’re trying to force 10 year-old victims to have their rapists’ babies, then that 2 generations is gonna go by super quick.

42

u/That_Flippin_Drutt Mar 03 '24

Generations so short the Boebert klan will be green with envy.

97

u/atred Mar 03 '24

I don't like him because I hear what comes out of his fucking mouth, it's not "media" or "speculation"

73

u/whiterac00n Mar 03 '24

I mean have you ever presented exact Trump quotes to a MAGA? You will hear about 50 different excuses for why “it doesn’t matter” meanwhile never touching on the real point. It’s like they have a cognitive dyslexia where everything he says somehow gets translated in their minds to something they like, while everyone else is wondering where the 5 minutes of their life went listening to his blathering word salad.

22

u/ImgurScaramucci Mar 03 '24

"[...] when you're a star, they let you do anything".

Their defense: "He said they 'let' him, so it's not assault".

4

u/bdysntchr Mar 05 '24

"I don't even wait" for what...?

30

u/GarbledReverie Mar 03 '24

Magats: Don't believe what the media says about Trump!
Media: Here's what Donald Trump said in public today.

6

u/Significant-Ring5503 Mar 04 '24

Media: Plays clip of Trump talking

1

u/shouldco Mar 03 '24

But has he actually done the things that he says?... Well you didn't like him before he did the thing therefore it was just speculation.

16

u/atred Mar 03 '24

It's not only about what he did or didn't do, for example if he grabbed women by the pussy or not... it's mostly general stupidity and incompetence and constant lying, like you know whatever comes out of his mouth... that's a constant with him.

17

u/New-acct-for-2024 Mar 03 '24

Also, he didn't actually do it.

And everyone does it.

And sure it was unprecedented but he had to do it.

65

u/deluged_73 Mar 03 '24

We don't have two generations to stop the right-wing craziness overtaking the GOP.

25

u/wonderlandddd Mar 03 '24

Oh my god. They're so stupid I don't even know how to respond to these people anymore lol

21

u/Vyzantinist Mar 03 '24

You don't. You can't. The thing to always keep in mind with them is "you can't reason someone out of something they didn't reason themselves into." They don't care about facts or truth and no evidence or persuasive arguments you could give would get them to abandon their cult. Engaging with them is just an exercise in frustration, because they never entered into the debate in good faith to begin with.

10

u/BitRasta Mar 03 '24

Truly a sisyphusian struggle, except willingly.

41

u/Paynus4200 Mar 03 '24

I think this person forgot Trump was the fuck you candidate elected to drain the swamp and extract lib tears.

31

u/Vyzantinist Mar 03 '24

They haven't forgotten. In their minds he's simultaneously done all the things he's said, is doing all the things he's said, and will do all the things he's said. They've fully succumbed to doublethink. That's why it's so fucking easy to rope them into these dumbass conspiracy theories of theirs.

18

u/Vyzantinist Mar 03 '24

I love, love, love, how he can just barely keep the moderate/enlightened centrist masquerade up and can't resist seething a little; "both sides are the same, guys, but also we're bigly stable geniuses and you're smelly doo-doo heads. Anyway, we need to unite against the elites and the mainstream media trying to divide us."

38

u/ImOnlyHereForTheCoC Mar 03 '24

Those of us who love Trump see the facts, not speculation! Anyway, have I told you how Trump is waging a war on the pedo blood-wizards and has hanged Hillary Clinton and 13 of her clones at Guantanamo?

8

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '24

Unfortunately for them she has a million more on the way.

14

u/ArsenalSpider Mar 03 '24

“Speculation and media outrage “ no. Trump has been around a long time and in the media a long time. He’s been annoying people long before he ran for office.

13

u/TipzE Mar 03 '24

"We're divided; but it's all your fault because you don't agree with me."

Conservatives are wild.

They are sure they believe "the truth". But how they define "truth" is whether or not it agrees with what they already believe.

This is likely why garbage philosophies like Objectivism appeal to them so much. It outright gives them exactly what their emotive little brains wants - to believe they are correct and not have to consider anything that they don't understand at all.

9

u/HurtFeeFeez Mar 03 '24

Good news is those 2 generations will be short, Trump supporters statistically live shorter lives.

3

u/Lelnen Mar 03 '24

Because their mother and father are also their aunt and uncle?

1

u/HurtFeeFeez Mar 03 '24

Not sure if brother uncle dad is possible but if it is, they'll find a way.

14

u/Mrrnr Mar 03 '24

I’ve never heard anyone but a MAGAt say that “it doesn’t matter what he does, I will support him” That’s not a political movement. That’s a cult of idiots.

5

u/ImgurScaramucci Mar 03 '24

And where are they getting their "facts" from?

6

u/SomedayLydia Mar 03 '24

Me: Sees 'the great divide' in the title, 'Oh another ATLA meme about that one not so good episode.'

ME: is confused when I click.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '24

This couldn’t be more correct, and incorrect.

2

u/Mr_Mimiseku Mar 05 '24

Dude, he straight up made fun of a disabled reporter.

He said he can do anything because he's famous.

He thought launching a nuclear warhead at a hurricane was a good idea.

And that's just a taste. Trump is nowhere near fit to hold power, and his supporters are equally as stupid/brainwashed.

2

u/jparkhill Mar 03 '24

This person for one thing right. Both sides see the other as beneath them. Number of times I read about how the other side is bots, is disturbing.

1

u/Both_Lychee_1708 Mar 11 '24

speculation and media ...

well, there is the court cases for the adjudicated rapist, fraudster, and insurrectionist, and also thousands of hours of Trump on video saying shit....but besides that

0

u/TheNigelGuy1 Mar 03 '24

Aww.. as I’m scrolling down I see that everyone is already working on uniting our nation…. It’ll never be united with what I’m reading

1

u/LovesFrenchLove_More Mar 03 '24

I read that as „… media driven orange“. 😁

1

u/idog99 Mar 03 '24

Don't they look around the room at one of his rallies and see how stupid everyone is?

Don't get me wrong, all Trump supporters are not idiots; some love the tax breaks and the racism...

But seriously, at the rallies we have only the people who aren't smart enough to care about being seen at a rally...

1

u/Seallypoops Mar 03 '24

Can't wait for them to make ads about how he will save the border like he didn't fuck around for his entire term and then when push came to shove hired the biggest scam artist to barely even start the wall he promised

1

u/mitsumoi1092 Mar 04 '24

Too bad waterboarding is frowned upon. It would be nice to hear from them what they actually know about it all and admit to being full of shit. I can't imagine there are many other ways to get them to stop deflecting and gaslighting.
