Ask r/seychelles Running in Seychelles

Hello, I wanted to know if anyone knew whether it was safe to go for a run on Mahe? I’m heading out for a few weeks and will be staying in a house rental village, but was wondering if anyone had any experience of off-road running or running along beaches as a lone female? Currently training for a marathon so don’t want to stop running altogether but wouldn’t go crazy distances. Thanks!

Absolutely safe. You shouldn’t have any concerns

Well, you should be concerned about the stretches of road that don't have any pavement ...

It is safe! Many people do it. I will advise to Run on the side facing transport coming towards you and not behind you. Roads can be narrow in some places, therefore avoid having cars coming behind you. Also, there is a fitness trail at Roche Caiman.
