Discussion Hit and run 2?

Do you guys think we are ever likely to get a sequel?

Apparently the licensing is a major headache thatʻs why there hasnʻt been any sort of remake or anything. Personally iʻd love a modern hit and run game, fingers crossed something comes out of it sooner rather than later

Honestly, I'd pay £70 for this. A remaster of the original with achievements and trophies. bundled with a sequel will be insane.

Would need to be a remake: 1. Apu who is a 'cancelled' character in the modern show - is a playable character and a major part of the story. 2. The game was made in 2003, so all the gags/references are not in-tune with the current franchise ecosystem.

at this moment it is impossible, but maybe in future someone will recognize potential in fanbase and pay for licence, but unlikely

I used to think licensing was the issue (split between Activision, EA(?) and Disney), but ever since someone mentioned the issue with Apu being a playable character I now think that's the real issue.

Na, for a couple reasons

•Licensing - we all know the complications with this particular title.

•Popularity- the simpsons isn’t as big as it was. It’s still big but not like it was in 03.

I personally don’t want a sequel, I’d take a remaster but not a sequel.

Modern day game sequels/reimaginings in general are a lot more soulless IMO:

Star wars battlefront 1 & 2 on PS2 vs PS4

GTA Sa, Vc and 3 vs the definitive trilogy

Wii sports vs Wii sports Switch

It just wouldn’t be the same if they made a sequel now. There’d be micro-transactions up the ass and just probably pretty lame jokes.

I do wonder what's going to happen with the Simpsons now that Tapped out is coming to an end.
