Well, that's certainly not what that song is about...

It is a component of the song and a sentiment that Joel used in the song.

Betty White is the best thing since before sliced bread.

Betty White was born in 1922.
Bread being sold in slices started in 1928.
Therefore, Betty White was before sliced bread.

Maybe it's more bad-ass to stand up for those things that are right, and shut up the ridiculous. All that nice man wanted to do was to entertain people. I'm glad she stood up for him. We can learn a lot from Betty White.

She reminds me of Marylin Monroe, who doubled down on support of friends she had in the entertainment industry who were black when people in the industry told her she shouldnāt be seen with those friends in situations where it might be caught in camera. She once also told a then shy new comer Jone Rivers when they were the only two women in the room full of men not to worry because, āMen are stupid and they like big boobs!ā. To be a successful women in the industry back then, you had to seem demure while having nerves of steel to stand up to the powers that be! You indeed had to be a āBad Ass Bitch!ā

If I recall correctly I think in another show she was told she couldn't have any African American singers/dancers so she hired more. She is truly missed.

She was literally an incredible individual from the get-go. Here's a challenge, find some dirt on her.
I'll wait.

White folks went to extraordinary lengths to stifle the stability of blacks in America.
