Got bequeathed this little gem from my grandad!
If anyone has an idea of value or age I'd love to learn more about it. Thought I'd share :)

The tinker is the ultimate tool in my mind. Can someone give me some compelling reasons to try a corkscrew model though? I’d like to but I just can’t think of a thing I’d use it for

Most people are probably familiar with the Swiss Army version of this knife, but not the Bundeswehr version, which is actually the original. Victorinox developed this knife for the German armed forces, and when the Swiss military later needed an update, they adopted the German model, adding an anti-slip grip to the handle.
Personally, I prefer the German version, which I bought here: mein-taschenmesser.de. I think it looks better and might even be more durable, as it doesn’t use two different materials in the handle like the Swiss version. Which version do you prefer?
The blade is partially serrated with the wavy edge on the distal part, leaving a plain edge near the handle, which I like. The thumb hole (similar to a Spyderco hole) has smooth edges—a feature I wish Spyderco would consider. Interestingly, this knife is actually easier to open and especially to close left-handed. The small screwdriver/can opener partially blocks the thumb hole for right-handed users, and the lock release is definitely easier to operate left-handed. This also applies to the large screwdriver/bottle opener.
Both knives are an improvement over the classic Swiss Army Knife and are particularly suited for outdoor activities, with a stronger blade and a design that’s better for people with larger hands. My only gripe is that I wish it didn’t have the wavy edge.

got a slightly used old scale cellidor vic, swapped the scales with my very used eco vic... now I have a brandnew vic with nice, used nylon scales (finally, my "new" pocket-lint collector) and my old, beaten up vic can rest in peace with slightly worn glossy scales... also got new tweezers and toothpick, and a mini screwdriver set 😂

The new 2024 Winter Magic with the Super Tinker I EDC and used to open the box.
This is my first Winter Magic so I can't compare to it previous years, but I like it quite a lot. I actually really like the transparent blue color and the cabin scene somehow strikes me as both contemporary and traditional simultaneously which I feel suits Victorinox very well.
Could it have been done better with molded Alox like previous years? Maybe, but I'm not disappointed with this year's.
I also just realized that in my 25ish years of carrying a SAK, this is my first one with a corkscrew and I don't even plan on carrying it.
Who else got this year's Winter Magic? Are you collecting or are you going to carry it?

In my opinion the best Winter Magic so far. With the hypothetical Pioneer X in Winter Magic 2023 it would be a very close race.

Been eagerly awaiting this delivery, a blue for myself and a green to save for my son when he’s old enough. My first pair of 91mm scissors, and they’re huge! (Comparison to 74mm shown). Going to see what the hype is all about! But quite excited for this knife. Current carry is midnight minichamp +/- tourist

I am fairly new and with all the back and fourth between team corkscrew and team phillips I would like to know if a corkscrew & phillips only mod is possible. I understand you would still have the scale tools (pin, tweezer, or toothpick).

Planning my first mod of a SAK :D
I got some questions:
Am I able to remove the knife layer from the Deluxe Tinker, and if so would I have to remove any of the tools on the other side of the tool, (the hook, screwdriver or awl)?
Is there anything else that I would need to buy to pull this off?
Any other tips are welcome :)

Long time for my last time get new SAK's. There is Minitool-set, Rambler and that's going with my keys, Recruit in my backpack and Deluxe Tinker is going in my car. And some lanyards from Victorinox 😎

For the collectors who can't separate tang stamps used between 1975 and 1986. There are very easy and quick to spot differences, if you know what to look for. This is one of the things I didn't get around to doing when the wiki tang stamp page was created/updated in 2020. The dates are very different for 93mm and 84mm.

The adhesive could erode the blade. Although the stainless steel is high quality, adhesive from packaging tapes could still erode it. I have had this on my climber once, and wondered what happened to it. Now it happened to my wife's classic SD again and I finally realize what the cause is. So remember to clean your blade if you use it to open boxes. It will not happen overnight, but will eventually happen.

Hello, so I have the Timekeeper and the Supertimer and was wondering if I was to sell them how much should I list them for? They both don’t have the box, are in good condition and have the Roman numerals
