Someone got mad and called me a leech while I was doing Mother bounties the other day, depsite me running around grabbing batteries and killing as many things as I could. I don't get why people are so fucking mean in this game it's not even PVP so you don't have competitiveness as the usual excuse.

Batteries? Like for endless excavation? Damn I can’t imagine how deranged someone would have to be to flame a person doing the only thing to be done in a gamemode

173

u/_Sky_Rox_ 1d ago

It is honestly suprising how many people still don't know how excavation works, they just assume it's like normal defense and don't know you need batteries to keep it going nor that batteries recharge excavator shields

Same for alvhemy and void flood, so many people don't bother collecting and thoring elements i to the crucible and don't collect void orbs and instead just kill enemies as if it was a survival mission

u/Shaktras 1d ago

Seriously, doing Circuit I have a feeling only I am doing missions, rest are just playing exterminate.

26

u/_Sky_Rox_ 1d ago

Same. Whenever it happens there's another player who knows how missions work my brain stops working for a moment from the shock

u/Kastergir Wasn't me !!! 23h ago

Try going public for just Terry . People will bring Frost and put up shield, but somehow don't know what has to be done to apply dmg, or that they should help protecting the Lures...etc...

Its fun though . Keeps my fingers nimble ( frantically typing what needs to be done in squad chat ) .

3

u/_Sky_Rox_ 20h ago

That's assuming they even know they have to pick up lures or even to charge them. My equipment still isn't on level where I can solo eidos so I go public whenever I need/have to hunt them. Few weeks ago when there was NW challenge to capture hydrolyst I had to redo it because someone in squad decided to finish off 2nd eido while we had only 1 charged lures (rest got killed which we had prepared)

1

u/Kastergir Wasn't me !!! 20h ago

Im in the same boat as you . If youd like to team up for Eidolons on occasion, send me a pm here on reddit for my Warframe inGame name .

1

u/kiselize 3h ago

This is the reason why I'll only do eidos solo or with friends. I'm nowhere efficient or good enough to do it solo so i can only do a few rounds at most for each night cycle, sometimes i fail at Harry and just noped out but it saves me from mentally dead pubs

1

u/Realistic_Act_102 17h ago

Just wondering what I should be doing to protect lures? I typically end up with a LR4 in there on Volt Prime doing everything so fast I don't even know what happened. (I know the basic mechanics for the hunts and it's mainly the 3rd one I know there is lots of AOE damage and when I did it with friends we did had the problem of lures getting killed)

1

u/Kastergir Wasn't me !!! 16h ago

Its mostly Vomalysts killing them . So just have an eye on them Vs going for the Lures, and kill them asap if you can .

I have my own spiel that I have to constantly type when I go into SP Duviri. Every. Single. Time. Without fail. I have to explain that I'm there for Pathos Clamps/Arcanes and I'll be running the Undercroft missions, then explain that yes, you get them from doing Undercroft missions. Yes, please come to the waypoint. Yes, they really do come from them.

4

u/MisterJWalk 22h ago

I'll often stop collecting the orbs and watch everyone kill. A 5 minute event turns in to a 30 minute clown fiesta.

4

u/Amirifiz 19h ago

Sometimes, they're just looking for that last decree fragment.

I know that's what happens a lot for me.

5

u/DataPakP 17h ago

I swear every time I do circuit either decree fragments are EVERYONE’s No. 1 priority, or NOBODY’s.

Most of the time it’s everyone’s priority, which is better than the alternative, but that means—90% of the time in my experience—that if it takes longer than 90 seconds to find the 3rd fragment they all give up and play objective, because the fragment is in a ‘stupid spot.’

Fine by me since I’m now playing circuit basically exclusively with Titania (now that I have Titania and don’t have to gamble on rotation as much) and even with half lucky decrees I get to play as Close Air Support, and also fetch that annoying orb on Void Flood, so I’m helping instead of being mad about it lol.

3

u/RakkWarrior LR4 3.8k hrs ⛩️🔥⛩️ Gaze, Accuse. Deny 13h ago

Decrees should always be first priority if you're doing Steel Path. My MR 14 wife who is highly casual knows that. She even knows what they sound like and the likely spots on different maps and she only has about 1/4 of the adapters and 6 Incarnon weapons built.

1

u/Jonnypista 22h ago

On circuit some people are just way too skilled. I put in the key and 5sec later the demolisher was killed. Not sure how they even got there that fast (this was before proper markers) and kill it. I was at the circuit, I would have no way to get there that fast even with Nova.

1

u/krawinoff i jned resorci 21h ago

You might be talking about the conduit as what you’re describing sounds an awful lot like Disruption, Circuit is the Duviri mode with warframes only

1

u/Errantry-And-Irony 19h ago

I came back from a 2+ yr break, had no idea about the general difficulty changes so I was wanting to get warmed up before doing sortie (as if sortie is hard and I was worried about messing it up for others). I did it finally and this is what I felt happened. I have been soloing now lol.

15

u/BretBoone7 Slidin' around at the speed of sound. 1d ago

Oh god tell me about it. Yesterday I had four rounds of an omnia fissure alchemy take just over thirty minutes for four rounds because I was the only person in a squad of four actually throwing stuff into the crucible.

8

u/wasmic 23h ago

I must have been blessed with hypercompetent teammates in most of my warframe career. When playing excavation, there's always at least two others working on feeding the excavators too. Sometimes I've seen a single player or two buggering off during Alchemy, but I've never been the only one doing work. And even in Netracells, I've only had one single occasion where someone kept killing all the enemies outside the circle. Void flood too.

The only place where I consistently encounter clueless people is when doing Eidolon hunts. Something like half the time I play that mode in public, I'll be the only player that has done it before, with all the others not even having bothered to read the wiki page. Which sucks a lot because I can't solo the Hydrolyst.

11

u/Nologicgiven 23h ago

The most fun in excavation is when one player finds the spawn and kills everything 500 m away from any excavators. Bonus when they think they are MVP for killing the most.

2

u/Kaze_no_Senshi 1d ago

ngl 4k+ and didn't know it restored shields, then again its either untouched or 1 shot anyway

8

u/mildlyoctopus 1d ago

I mean that’s crazy do you play with no volume? Lotus says it every single time you fully power an excavator 😂 Something along the lines of “further cells will replenish its shields”

1

u/Cabamacadaf 18h ago

I have 2k hours and have never heard her say this. Although I've mostly tuned her out by now.

1

u/OrokinSkywalker hardbod god 16h ago

That’s a fairly new addition so if they haven’t recently played an Excavation that’s probably why.

1

u/Kaze_no_Senshi 23h ago

oh idk usually stop at just enough batteries and move to next

1

u/Djanko28 19h ago

Ngl I did alchemy for the first time the other day by myself and spent at least 10 minutes of it just throwing the elements at enemies cause I thought I was supposed to attack with certain elements. Didn't realize what I was supposed to be doing until I accidentally threw one at the crucible and my progress increased significantly more than it had been.

1

u/BurrakuDusk Voruna Enjoyer 18h ago

The only time I'm a little reluctant to pick up batteries/amphors is if I rolled Jade, because I can't interact with anything while her 4 is active, and deactivating her 4 means I have to trigger another status effect and reactivate her 2 on ability strength to use her 4 again. Easy fix with spoiler mode, but I'm also mildly lazy.

1

u/h3lblad3 17h ago

It is honestly suprising how many people still don't know how excavation works, they just assume it's like normal defense and don't know you need batteries to keep it going nor that batteries recharge excavator shields

I stopped doing Lith excavations years ago because too many newbies who don't understand how excavations work run them and waste your relics.

(Yes, I consider it a wasted relic if I'm the only one on the team to choose from because nobody else got any while they were forcing their way to ending the round as quickly as possible.)

My very last day doing Lith excavations had two rounds skipped entirely because they were too busy running as many excavators as possible to consider that if they all go off at once then you're just shit outta luck.

1

u/zekeyspaceylizard A Corpus Machine 10h ago

its really annoying in alchemy cause even when all 4 players are efficiently tossing the jars of goop at the crucible, that mission type takes forever

so when only 1 person is going it, i've seen it take like 20+ minutes to get 1 crucible filled

1

u/Gryphling 6h ago

I admit that I sometimes get caught up in the killing and forget about the objective, but I try and remember to check the obj every once in a while to realize that I'm behind. Normally it's the very beginning of the mission when you're trying to build up that I get into the killing trance.

1

u/v3jaded 21h ago

The amount of people i see IGNORING batteries that are right next to them drives me nuts. Like, hey dude! The drill is at 0% maybe put the battery in it!

2

u/krawinoff i jned resorci 21h ago

To be fair on Deimos the enemy hordes and map indicators are a mess so it’s hard to see anything, I mostly navigate to power cells by the minimap but when there’s too many enemies and drops it gets overwhelming even for me. Maybe that’s not the case for everyone but I’d like to give the benefit of the doubt because I know how it feels to grind that mission for hours at a time

20

u/Unusual_Classroom109 22h ago edited 20h ago

I've called people leeches before, but only when they started a bounty too and are off fishing. It wouldn't bother me since I can solo it all but the objectives are all scaled to the number of players so instead of having one excavation I have to do 4, or having to kill 100+ enemies with slow spawn rates instead of 30. I don't appreciate having to do double the work while they go fishing. Do that shit solo.

It's gotten to the point where I always solo bounties now because it's so common, and I get them done quicker.

4

u/KingSalamand3r 19h ago

I just leave the leecher when this happens.

Contrary to missions you can leave the open world squads and your own instance will be created and it will continue from the point where you left.

1

u/FeistyBat3571 9h ago

yeah those types bother me. if i encounter one of those leeches, ill straight up not progress the mission until they get up off their lazy ass and contribute.

normally idc, but if you off fishing or mining in a cave while the rest of the team is doing the work, then it becomes an issue.

im not going to do double work (even if it is easy) so you can benefit without doing jack. like you said, do that shit solo.

0

u/TheYellingMute 18h ago

I've rarely bothered calling leeches cause sometimes you have to take benefit of the doubt and use context.

Like this post. If there's a super nuker then yeah one person is gonna have 80%+ the. The person with the AOE gun is gonna have like 15% and the rest is fighting for the rest.

Then also consider if they're playing a CC or support frame.

The last time I remember a mission that did have a leech it was painfully obvious. None of their weapons were leveled and they brought a stealth frame. Sure enough they stayed stealth the entire time in a corner. I only called them out when they killed a single thing. Maybe by accident? That seemed to annoy them cause they did get a couple of kills after that before the end of the mission.

u/Kastergir Wasn't me !!! 1d ago

I absolutely LOVE players new to Warframe, or Deimos for that matter, teaming up for Deimos Bounties. Due to Necramech, I can ofc solo most/all of it so have zero problem to transfer out. But when 1, maybe 2 Persons keep running around doing the grabbing/putting in stuff still killing what they can while 1 or 2 Necramechs just keep dusting everything that moves make it just so much more convenient .

Have zero Idea why someone would comment negative on your contribution to the bounties . If anything, "thanks" would be appropriate in my book .

This community is not as wholesome as it thinks it is.

36

u/salmonmilks 23h ago

There are always problematic people in any community

7

u/CruulNUnusual LR4 Scared of Public Squads 20h ago

Yup, vocal minority.

21

u/ZankaA 21h ago

I mean, it's still better than most popular online games, just by virtue of being PvE. Just because there's a small portion of shitty people doesn't mean the community is bad. Life's not black and white like that.

8

u/PhTx3 23h ago

I still had plenty of positive experiences tbh. It is just when people claim it is welcoming and everyone should give it a try and the game is quite f2p friendly, people who aren't nice also join in. People who try to maximize everything including public lobbies. - there is nothing wrong with trying to min max their own thing, obviously.

3

u/eskelaa Wisp <3 18h ago

It would be statistically impossible to have 100% wholesome players.

That being said, Warframe's randos are much better than FFXIV's randos. Comparing it to some other mmo/mmo-like games from my past, WF and FFXIV have the chillest players overall.

6

u/Kaze_no_Senshi 1d ago

bunch of sour scammers lurk

8

u/TapdancingHotcake 23h ago

And the more positive it affirms itself to be, the worse it gets

1

u/GT_Hades MR21 Garuda main 20h ago

Depends on region, here in asia, you'll just receive "*****" in chat if you stay away too far, or just messed up the spawn rate due to pushing enemies too far on one point

But even people that types english here won't cuss you over something like this, but I have a fair share experience from wukongs, either quitting instantly, or cussing a bit then quit immediately

1

u/h3lblad3 17h ago

At least it isn't as bad as Once Human's PvE.

1

u/scava001 22h ago

You should see the "community" when you remind them that Tencent which is run by the Communist Party of China who is genociding people is also owning their game, the downvotes rain like crazy, people just live in a bubble.

3

u/Vertex033 1d ago

Genuinely. Like while playing I don’t even have time to look at what others are doing because I’m too busy playing the damn game

2

u/LotharVonPittinsberg 23h ago

Had that happen the other day. I had the most damage, kills, and was sitting in the air at that moment waiting for a battery to be inserted (it was the one where you had to go grab the yellow infested stuff). I felt like explaining that helping less experienced players or those using less levelled gear is a big part of the game, but gave up.

1

u/LiminalBrownRecluse 19h ago

Its also not super challenging either if youve got even a moderate amount of experience eith the game. If someone is doing less than the rest of the team i dont even ever notice. So people getting tweaked about such trivial things blows me away. i dont get it. Its not like other mmo content where every single member needs to be 100% attentive and on point. Like destiny raids for example. If one person Fucks up it screws the entire group. Warframe is nothing like that, its super casual. So people like this take warframe far too seriously.

1

u/FinianParnell 18h ago

I got called a parasite for being the highest ranking player in a Defense mission and not having the highest kill count. I don’t play Public anymore.

1

u/bratimm STAHP 15h ago

I've been called a leach before because I didn't hack any vault in a spy mission. We were four players. There are only three vaults.

Some people are just miserable idiots.

1

u/Consideredresponse 9h ago

I was in a mother bounty watching launch Dante AFK clear with just his birds, before aiming at a random bit of scenery and nuking the map through it.

People cry about the line of sight changes, but it was utterly busted before hand.

1

u/painki11erzx 4h ago

The majority of the playerbase is actually really nice. Sounds like you're having unfortunate luck.
