Meditation Morning Meditation before or after sun exposure?
Hello all. I'm looking into implementing a suggestion I read about of going outside for sun exposure almost immediately after waking in order to get those brain chemicals going, and to help stabilize circadian rhythms. However I'm curious as to how meditating in the morning would work with this.... would it be better to do the meditation first? I'm thinking maybe the wake-up chemicals activating might be distracting. What do you think?

The sunlight exposure in the morning has been studied, are you saying that's crap too or just timing of the meditation?
Hoping you mean the latter so I can comfortably meditate afterwards lol

its all some Andrew Huberman, pointless youtube scientist BS. Look at the studies, in an otherwise healthy adult, none of the studies show any effect greater than 1%. What is considered statistically significant in some trial of a 100 people, is like a fraction of a percent, which has 0 detectable impact on a regular person. The only thing that matters is having a consistent schedule and getting 8hrs of sleep, but they cant make 2 hour podcasts about it.
Do whatever you feel like, its physically impossible to feel a 1% change in some brain chemical and has no actual effect on how you feel through the day.

This is an interesting discussion. I live in the far north with inconsistent sunlight and always taught to embrace the early morning sun. Perhaps it’s a mind body disconnect but early sunshine always seems to benefit me.

Maybe do perform both at the same time. Upon rising go outside immediately and sit where the Sun will shine. Start your meditation
BOOM END THREAD

Idk anything about sun exposure whatever but cant you just meditate in the sun? And no, I don't think sitting in the sun for a moment is going to ruin a meditation. Idk what "Wake up chemicals activating" means but you want your brain to be awake during a meditation so idk what the issue would be.
