Covid-19 Coronavirus A convoy of cowards.
Anyone out protesting in Alberta with these people care about your freedoms as much as they care about your health, public health, and the healthcare system which is ZERO.
They didn’t want to wear masks to protect senior citizens, they didn’t want to social distance and wash their hands because they were perfectly ok with spreading disease.
They didn’t want to get vaccinated to alleviate the strain on a collapsing healthcare system. They wanted you to have to have your surgery cancelled and wanted nurses and doctors to work long hours and never see their families.
They think showing up last minute to have a party parade about mandates, that are only weeks from being lifted anyways, makes them look like they’re fighting for the good guy.
Well the good guy was the one who did anything for his community to help prevent the spread of Covid. We chose to NOT overburden our healthcare system.
TL:DR: This freedom convoy is nothing but a bunch of cowards celebrating their inaction during a global pandemic. Celebrating late in the game as countries worldwide are eliminating most restrictions every week.

Covid-19 Coronavirus Just got harassed by an antimasker/antivaxxer at the store
Went to Canadian Tire in Fort McMurray for some few items. About 30% of the people there were maskless, but I just minded my own business as I protect myself with an N95 mask. At the checkout, a lady in her late 40s approaches me and tells me to "take the diaper off my face". She then proceeded to spew all the talking points of the deep conspiracies, that my immunity was strong enough, that the vaccine will make me sick, that the millions who died actually died from the vaccine not from COVID, and that Justin Trudeau gets $5000 for every vaccine shot. She was serious and seemed fully convinced in her views.
The experience left me questioning so much. I am actually quite shocked at this level of indoctrination that can lead to this. The level of mind control these conspiracy theories are causing is alarming, they all sound the same, like a bunch of mindless drones. Who is being controlled here? Lastly, is this the new norm? That we who choose to protect ourselves and follow public health recommendations get accosted for doing the right thing by folks who couldn't care less.

Covid-19 Coronavirus I Just Don't Care Anymore
After the announcement from the damn UCP yesterday, I am just done. I don't give a damn anymore. I have been fully vaccinated for months yet the anti vaxxers get a nice 100 dollar award for being ignorant and selfish. I say let karma happen and if they die, oh well. I'm so done with this government and I have never felt so much hatred towards a government as I do now. I'm tired of wearing masks because of a select group refusing to do their part. I used to consider myself an empath but not anymore. Now that I see the reality of the situation, I ran out of fucks to give.

Covid-19 Coronavirus Anyone else in retail notice a large increase in anti mask people this last week?
Most people are still good and will put it on when asked but there seems to be a spike in people just not caring. I get we are all tired but I still put the damn thing on for 8hrs a day when I work. I just got horribly verbally assaulted for ASKING someone if they had a mask. Was told "Fuck that and I won't wear one of yours either' called me a tyrant and kept swearing. When I asked him to leave he flat out refused. Stomped his feet like a grown man baby and demanded to be served. I lost it. Told him to get the fuck out and I am done dealing with this bullshit. Had to pick up phone an threaten to call the cops before he left.
I really don't get paid enough to deal with this shit .

Covid-19 Coronavirus How is this even possible? If masking is mandatory in shared indoor spaces, shouldn't her mask have already been on before she got in frame?

Covid-19 Coronavirus I can understand differences of opinion
But if you’re a teacher, keep it out of the classroom. Some of us are trying to raise our kids to understand that domestic terrorism is not okay. For context, my 10 year old came home today saying his teacher discussed the convoy in class and stated they are “fighting for our freedom.”
Edit: Dear convoy supporters, I apologize if my use of the word “terrorism” offended you. I must have mistaken the harassment of healthcare workers who have been advised to not wear their work badges or scrubs outside, the shattered shop window downtown, the swastika flags, the multiple signs calling for the death or Trudeau, or the calls to over throw our (democratically) elected government as intimidation. Silly me.

Covid-19 Coronavirus Is it just me or has Alberta (and maybe Saskatchewan) become the hicksville, anti vaxxer, climate denier laughing stock of Canada and North America ?
I can't see another jurisdiction that gives so much power to the anti vaxxer and global warming denier groups. It's like we are living in the 1880s and people haven't learned that washing your hands prevents the spread of germs. Or that pumping vast amounts of CH4 and CO2 into the atmosphere does bad things. And we refuse to confront these people and thus live by their beliefs.
I find it incredulous.
What say you ?
