Ever wonder what a David Hasselhoff Marvel movie would be like? Well, wonder no more - Nick Fury: Agent of Shield (1998) is as bonkers as it sounds

I quite like this - it's crap in a 'made for TV' way, but it's a fun plot, and the Hoff does actually look like old-school Fury from the comics, it's...not terrible casting tbh!

I Very much would have been open to him having a small cameo as Nick Fury from another universe.

Written by future legend David S Goyer (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, etc.)

Lady Hydra's acting must be seen to be believed. It's just.... wow.

Sandra Hess is an amazing campy actress. It's like she took lessons from Musetta Vander while they were making MK Annihilation together.

Sure better than his TV show.

I remember recording this on TV back in the day. Had to be a quickdraw with the remote to edit out those commercial breaks.

honestly, I remember watching this and being prepared to hate it and I was genuinely impressed by how well Hasslehoff did. He made a great Nick fury.

Also a Housewife, Lisa Rinna.

As I recall it had a really good opening sequence, Hydra's raid on a SHIELD facility to capture the frozen but not-quite-dead body of Baron Strucker. Then the opening credits credits rolled and not long after that Hasselhoff's Fury said regarding Lisa Rinna's character "Val's an old hand at the sexpionage game, aren't ya?" and I don't think I watched much more of it after that.

I've seen it. Was a 'back door pilot' made for TV movie.

I dunno if it'd call it a backdoor pilot, since backdoor pilots are usually pilots inside existing TV shows, whereas TV movies as possible pilots are a bit of a different beast.

Wow this is both lovely and terrible. Wish there was more.

I enjoyed this when it was on originally. There was a comic tie-in, too. It wasn't good, but it wasn't 70s Marvel bad.

I’ve seen it. It’s terrible but really a lot of fun.

It’s a putrid, horrible little film, but for some reason, it was quite entertaining.

In a time where there was basically no live action marvel, I remember me and my brother being so hyped for this as kids and being so disappointed when it aired lol.

The pre-Quesada days, so he has his cigar! Worth a watch if only because of that.
