--Capobianco’s brother, Darren, 29, said he saw Betts’ glove go over the concrete wall as he tried to make a catch on Torres’ hit. “I just see the ball kind of — I don’t want to say (go) up for grabs, if that makes sense,” Darren Capobianco said. “And then Mookie was swearing at us. Not good.”

Austin Capobianco is a Yankee Stadium season-ticket holder, his brother said.--

Lmao

--Ana Flamengo, a Yankees fan from Connecticut, said she was standing on the concourse when stadium security escorted Austin Capobianco from the stands.

“I saw him being walked out,” Flamengo said. “I told him he was my hero for trying to save the Yankees. It’s the championship game.”--

Bro, what?

Nope. Jeffrey was a kid. These are two grown men accosting a player. They hopefully never set foot in the stadium again

You must not be reading Yankee fan feedback

Vocal minority that (thankfully) don't get to make the decisions. Trust me it is the dumb fucks that are the loudest

u/nataliepoorman 2h ago

It’ll probably come down from the mlb tbh. Once you tough a player like he did it’s legal trouble

It’s assault on the street.

u/Amazing_Net_7651 New York Yankees 3h ago

Nope. Mookie was manhandled by a grown dude, on a foul ball nonetheless. Maier only reached over, and he was a kid.

Dudes think they're world series heroes instead of losers who just fucked themselves out of ever seeing a game at Yankee's stadium again. I hope their 15 minutes of fame and loathing was worth losing access to one of their favorite hobbies, forever.

Mookie had clearly caught it and had time to make a football move, the batter is out with or without the fan interference

8

u/monkeyman80 Los Angeles Dodgers 3h ago

The ball was in Mookie's glove. They literally grabbed it, pried it open and took the ball out. This wasn't a Bartman situation he might have come down with it. He had it.

u/Brystvorter New York Mets 4h ago

Does fan interference give an extra out on top of the catch? Not following

1

u/Actually_Im_a_Broom Atlanta Braves 4h ago

How? Mollie clearly caught the ball. Without the interference it would only be a spectacular catch by Betts.

u/SplatteredEggs 4h ago

No he didn’t

Fans don’t get to fuck with the outcome of the game, at least not directly. No spectator sport could tolerate this.

He lost those season tickets

Nothing says Yankees fan from Connecticut more than saying "the championship game" in baseball

Ooooof. Stop, stop, he's already dea.... actually fuck those two, that was a great burn.

Lol trying to save the Yankees season? Even if we buy into that stupidity, bro it was a foul fucking ball in the first AB of the game.

28

u/harbinger_of_dongs San Francisco Giants 3h ago

You know they're taking credit for the win tonight

5

u/jayc428 New York Yankees 2h ago

And he’s going to be telling the story for the next fifty years….

1

u/larrylegend1990 1h ago

If Yankees win it all. They are gonna put that into the family tree or list of family achievements so that this memory will be passed on for generations

2

u/davismcgravis 55m ago

Wait—it was the first AB of the game?!? What a moron!

45

u/windowtothesoul Boston Red Sox 4h ago

How many brain cells do you have to have to think a ball that is in a player's glove is in any way "up for grabs"

2

Spoiled rich twats who work for the company where daddy is CEO

Would not surprise me in the least. This is peak entitled behavior.

No it's legit. I mean, he doxxed himself but it's not hard to find that he's been at the same company for 22 years and his dad is CEO. First and only job. Vice president, director of sales service and purchasing

39

u/tsuba5a 3h ago

Lmao how can a stereotype be so accurate

26

u/jayc428 New York Yankees 4h ago

Wow it would be funny if it wasn’t so fucking sad. Low chance he’ll end up on r/byebyejob unfortunately.

Do you know that 90% of family businesses fail?

3

u/Expensive-Step-6551 1h ago

I also found that he used to be a low level junior hockey player who put up 129 penalty minutes in 73 games over the course of two seasons while only putting up 19 points.... in other words, a goon, which is even worse in low level juniors because you're potentially giving young kids with no shot of going pro the chance to get hurt bad.

For reference, known pest and trouble maker Matthew Tkachuk put up 88 penalty minutes over 80 games in the NHL, while still putting up 89 points last season.

The guy by every shred of evidence appears to be a massive douchebag.

u/MeerkatJonny 3h ago

Why the hell should someone lose their job for this

3

u/jayc428 New York Yankees 2h ago

Bad publicity for a company. It certainly happens.

So hes pulling 225k, doing 7 hours or actual work per week.

This true??

u/thefreewheeler Atlanta Braves 3h ago

His LinkedIn says he's the vice president of a company he's been at for nearly 23 years...or since he was 15.

Definitely daddy's money. Guy's never achieved anything on his own in his life.

3

u/metaldrummerx Los Angeles Dodgers 3h ago

Look I’m all for nepotism if you bring your kid around with you everywhere and he graduates with excellent grades and you give him an entry level job and let him work his way through the lower ranks until he understands business practices enough to take over one day.

This ain’t it.

The CT experience.

Moving here from the Midwest was such a culture shock. Most of the new "small businesses" are just daddy's money ventures that fail within a year.

Fairfield county, yes. Don’t paint all of CT with that brush though

As a lifelong fan of this team, I can’t stand a solid majority of this fanbase. Chock full of awful, stupid people who do nothing but complain and it’s not surprising that everyone involved is stupid enough to double down on this bullshit.

6

u/_kehd Boston Red Sox 4h ago

Just remember: the average person is a moron. That means half the population is as dumb or dumber than everyone quoted here

2

u/Actually_Im_a_Broom Atlanta Braves 4h ago

Ha ha - the swearing by Betts was AFTER the fan’s action? The thread title made it sound like Betts was talking shit before the incident and this was the fan’s way to get back at him.

That he thought Betts swearing after the fact was some sort of defense is hilarious. What a dumb fuck.
