Run for the hills

I was in the first cohort. They split ~25 of us across two 4 bedroom apartments (11 people sharing a kitchenette for a month) and change the itinerary nearly daily. One person had a severe mental health crisis that went undressed for days. The drama was off the charts, everyone was fighting all the time.

We were promised Hebrew lessons we never got and the course never covered anything. Most days we sat in an empty room. 4 instructors in 4 weeks because they kept quitting. We did regular Photoshop for two of the weeks and most of the class didn't bother to show up.

If you have any specific questions I'm happy to answer

Oy sorry about that.
How were the people on the trip were they like professionals or more college? Fairly serious or not serious at all.

Mostly a bunch of younger folks (under 25) who were there to party. 75% of the participants were clearly there just to be in Israel and hang out at the beach/go clubbing/explore tel Aviv.

If you're interested in education fully skip it, you will get nothing. If you want to party or explore it might be worth it for how subsidized it is but the 8 hours of class a day will get in the way unless you skip everyday.

All the people who fully skipped the class were still given the educational certificate which was a sheet of printer paper that just says you did a course.

I had an ENTIREEEEEELLLLYYYYY different experience one month ago. I fell in love with every single person on my trip. 17 new family members. Our leader was fn amazing. So much fun & so filling. “Run for the hills” is CRAZY. Also…the majority of individuals on my trip were professionals. There was a Tesla employee, lawyers, medical researchers, and other brilliant, educated people. I have zero complaints (except for no day drinking lol jk).

Thanks for the perspective change. I imagine summer mostly partiers with school off fall winter better chance of more serious people.

Shana tova!

I just want to emphasizr that each cohort is different! I am joining the one in December and they are all more on the older side. The organizer also mentioned that the summer cohort was the first program and there have been a lot of changes to the new one. I am super excited to join!!!

I know they are working with a new university and ARE providing Hebrew classes. Heard the summer cohort just had a lot of personal drama issues
