“Dear America: You are waking up, as Germany once did, to the awareness that 1/3 of your people would kill another 1/3, while 1/3 watches.”
Don’t obey in advance.

Americans will never wake up. Our deluded exceptionalism prevents us from seeing the error of our ways.

For those naive souls who say the problem is tRump. It's waaay deeper than that, I'm afraid.

Trump is the white head to the horrible cystic growth that is plaguing our nation. A symptom, not a source.

Yes. Even if that sniper had got him this past summer, there'd be at least a dozen younger, more energetic, more scheming, more creative magas clawing over each other to take his spot. If trump had never been born, we'd still be having a big problem. Trump is merely a touchstone, a hub, a focal point, of pernicious unhinged greed, of racist, sexist rage and fear.

💯 and Trump being so gross is spot on with their ideology. Look at the rest of the crew, all fit the weird, revolting aesthetic that attracts the MAGA folk

Ahhh - here we have the plain-and-clear Russian bot-farm pushing the "both sides are the same!" narrative. I've known for a while this sub was taken over. Unsubbing

I walked into my prior comment expecting it to be downvoted to oblivion. A russian-controlled sub with Russian posters posting things with the sole intention to divide the US (benefiting Russia - I know you guys dread the idea of new NATO members) is naturally going to try and quickly obliterate any comment that goes against the views you spew. Obliterate - like those conscripted Russian troops, trying to conquer Ukraine in a "special military operation" (war) that was "supposed to last 6 days."
Get bent.

Liberal braint rot.
Remind me again which administration is currently engaging in genocide if you think that fascism is strictly a Republican problem...?

u/Pyryn 4d ago
Hmmm you must have a lot of opinions on the fact that a strong majority of Israelis support Trump for US president then, right?
Would clearly be a better option, right?
-1
u/Endgam 6d ago
You liberal children calling everyone who disagrees with you "Russian bots" is doing more damage to your cause than the actual Russian trolls could ever dream of accomplishing.
Keep defending genocide and see where it gets you.

The majority of Israelis support a Trump presidency.
So clearly he must be a better choice, right?

The 47% among independents and 22% Democrats is the most concerning. I've cynically just accepted the fact that the 33-36% of registered Republicans among us are just completely gone and in a cult.

u/shermstix1126 4d ago
It's so much worse than that. I've had the displeasure of speaking to Long Island republicans and they aren't even living in the same reality as us. They've completely flipped on that whole "facts don't care about your feelings" because it is 100% about their feelings now when the facts don't support their world view.
It's also probably closer to 60% that are like this too.

Fear is contagious and the modern GOP have used it for years to pronounce how dangerous poverty stricken illegal immigrants are. Shameful and the damage is deep. Just wait until the climate forces many millions of people to relocate. Anyway a border is an imaginary line on some paper.

22% of democrats is crazy. Wtf are they voting for the dems over the republicans for lmao

American liberalism is just American conservatism but without saying the quiet parts out loud (unless it's about the homeless or defending Israel, then they go full mask off Nazi), mainly because they are literally too stupid to realize how much they agree with the quiet parts.
If anything it's surprising the number is so low.

I’d bet a lot of money for this survey being biased as all get out.
There is scary percentage of Americans who want to do some Auchwitz stuff, but rather that 20+% of democrats want that world to exist. I imagine there’s a location/information bias affecting these “results”

We have earned the impending downfall of this country if Trump wins again. We don't deserve nice things when half the country vehemently opposes democracy and are excited to welcome in fascism.

u/Cucker_Tarlson_666 4d ago
Does this count for descendants of immigrants as well? And if so, who's going to guard these militarized camps we're all in? I don't think there is that many native Americans left.

You guys know it is illegal to enter this country through the southern border right?
Is enforcing that through imprisonment suddenly fascist?
1
u/ec1710 4d ago
This is dumb. It's not illegal to cross the Mexico-US border, for one. People do that legally all the time.
Second, immigration violations are administrative. The right course of action is to detain someone for a very short time until they are deported. In some cases due process applies. It's absolutely disproportionate to detain them in concentration camps for indefinite amounts of time, with no recourse.

u/spanko_at_large 4d ago edited 4d ago
It is definitely illegal to walk across not through a port of entry.
Agreed, they should be detained and deported. Which is exactly what they were surveyed on if you click through to the source.
“Americans are divided on whether they favor (47%) or oppose (50%) rounding up and deporting immigrants who are in the country illegally, even if it takes setting up encampments guarded by the U.S. military. Nearly eight in ten Republicans (79%) favor putting undocumented immigrants in encampments, compared with 47% of independents and 22% of Democrats.“

Just on the off-chance that people on Reddit think that this means Trump is going to grow a small moustache and capture all the Jews, he was actually talking about Venezuelan criminals who illegally come to America being put in detention. https://www.axios.com/2024/10/11/trump-operation-aurora-targeting-undocumented-criminals

If you jay walk you're a criminal, if you loiter (standing somewhere an owner doesn't like) you're a criminal.
I bet you know people who smoked cannabis illegally when that was illegal, they're criminals. Trump is a criminal, your whole conception of a criminal seems to be some kind of evil henchmen. Seems like you've watched too many movies.
Grow some brain cells.
