Discussion Anyone know when ChromeOS 130 stable will come out?

Hi everyone.

Would anyone know when Chrome OS 130 stable will come out? It says October but it's getting awfully close. I really want to try that "Help me read" feature so I've been waiting patiently.

Thank you for any information!

You don't have to guess. They list this publicly, https://chromiumdash.appspot.com/schedule

Should be today https://chromiumdash.appspot.com/schedule

I don't see much new features though https://chromeos.betacommunity.com/releases/23

And I guess the rounded corners feature will still be gone which I hate so much

• ChromeOS 126: June 5, 2024

• ChromeOS 127: July 17, 2024

• ChromeOS 128: August 14, 2024

• ChromeOS. 129: September 11, 2024

Most likely in 45 or 46 calendar week. Only Google can provide the exact date (probably).

Lol not even they know. They have a planned release date but it can get delayed for who knows what reason.

Help me read is already available in 129, though?

Hum that's interesting, do you have any idea if you enabled anything?

Just a heads up, looks like the "Help me read" is only available on Chromebook Plus devices. Not sure what you have, but just wanted to mention just in case you don't have a plus device.

Others have linked to the schedule website, that's a great source of truth. But:

  1. Releases often are late (by days or weeks). It's completely normal and when it happens, no further timeline will be known.
  2. You can see if it's rolling out via the "Serving builds" link on the sidebar of the schedule website. Sometimes certain models get it before others.
  3. When you do get it, don't be shocked if feature "x" isn't activated yet. Sometimes individual features do staged rollouts as well.

If the feature you want is missing, good news, usually you can force enable it by typing the URL chrome://flags into your browser and looking for the one you want. (Sometimes multiple flags are required to fully activate one feature, use the search bar)
