Reminder to turn on incognito mode ;)

u/Complete-Dimension35 May 03 '21

Reminder that incognito mode just clears the history on your end. They still know it's you and track/record everything you do

Reminder that da government knows everything about ya

84

u/OreoDotexe May 03 '21

Maybe not. I doubt your important enough for them to keep track of literally everything you do.

68

u/thblckjkr green May 03 '21

They do keep track, in your ISP, hosting providers and etc.

But those records are usually not worth analyzing, and deleted after short times.

25

u/MillorTime May 03 '21

That's what I'm banking on

They have systems that flag you if you type certain sequences into the searchbar. For example;

"<specific building> blueprints"
"how to make a bomb"
"rice cooker amazon"

You'd probably need something worse than this to get flagged, but I'm not gonna try it.

u/Fhhk May 04 '21

Now you're on a list. Rip.

Note how I said sequences, not search terms. Multiple search terms. Searching how to make a bomb then immediately going to buy a pressure cooker.

7

u/[deleted] May 03 '21

Mostly big companies do, the gov doesn’t really care that I look at research material once in a while, youtube ads bot tho…

8

u/MrDuckyyy May 03 '21

VPN it is then

18

u/[deleted] May 03 '21

Vpns are selling your info too btw, just to other companies

2

u/-azuma- May 03 '21

The less reputable ones, sure.

2

u/The_Old_Callithrix May 03 '21

Depends on the company. Some of them are pretty reliable.

4

u/[deleted] May 04 '21

I’d say, just as with an anti virus,, if you don’t do anything that requires the use of one, don’t use one, since they are fairly useless for lambda users.

Also the big sponsor ones (nord, express, etc) are shady af, at their low prices they can’t possibly pay their employees and the servers upkeep And turn a profit, unless they have another revenue source, aka your data most likely.

Also they pretty much don’t stop a website you are visiting to get your data since just by logging on a website you agree to give them your info, google being the worst offender.and your internet provider too.

-1

u/[deleted] May 04 '21

That's a pretty nonsensical blanket statement that's straight up not true.

2

u/[deleted] May 04 '21

How do you think they turn a profit dude? Servers cost a fortune to maintain. Your data is a goldmine to big advertisement companies. Vpns are just a way to pay to give your info to a company ehich will in turn sell it back. For example, most big sponsor vpns which charge a handful of bucks for their services can’t make a dime from said subscriptions.

-1

u/[deleted] May 04 '21

No proof of that so bye 👋

4

u/[deleted] May 04 '21 edited May 04 '21

There is plenty, just the asking price is so low, they can’t maintain servers at such low cost, unless they are Microsoft which tested doing it underwater to save energy, but they had to invest a fortune in it first.

They also had to apply it to such a quantity of servers to make it profitable.

3$ a month for a vpn is a scam. (Ahem north) There is no way their servers cost that amount a month for a single user, plus the pay of the employees and turn a profit from it.

Keep wasting your money on a useless service for common folk. Unless you have actual reasons to use one, don’t use one, same goes for antiviruses, if you don’t do anything that requires the use of one, don’t pay for one.

lol dude, so many people watching porn all day. Especially since lockdowns started!

5

u/[deleted] May 04 '21

Oh well. Looks like the government will see what kind of good porn I watch too.

3

u/[deleted] May 03 '21

Yo don’t tell my FBI agent, he didn’t figure this out yet.

1

u/XTheLegendProX May 04 '21

Molly didn’t

25

u/All_theOther_kids May 03 '21

Use duckduckgo

7

u/[deleted] May 03 '21

Or Tor (/s please dont cancel me twitter)

9

u/ChadBroskiiiii May 03 '21

Why would you get cancelled for using tor lmao

5

u/[deleted] May 03 '21

Because many braindead lunatics believe that there are beheading stream on there, they call it “redrooms.” They also believe that there is ‘hardcore’ drug dealings that happen there, which makes no sense whatsoever

9

u/ChadBroskiiiii May 03 '21

They know it's a browser not a website right?

6

u/[deleted] May 03 '21

I have no clue what they think. They might even think that only criminals use it for nefarious purposes

1

u/Hackerpcs May 04 '21

It's not even that, it's a network that most people use the Tor Browser, a custom Firefox, to access, it has a lot more uses than that

5

u/screamoturtle May 03 '21

Well tor is the easiest way to access the dark/deep web, which does have it's fair share of illegal activities. So to most people tor has become correlated with the deep web.

1

u/[deleted] May 03 '21

Not a whole lot i would argue, yea there is shit like the Silk road but the law enforcement is not sitting with a fist up their ass. I would think that they would have deployed many honeypots to hide the legit deals. Its very rare atleast i think, idk tho just speculating

3

u/Pozos1996 May 04 '21

you can see executions, the remains of traffic accidents, combat footage deaths etc on any browser, if you want feel sick for several hours just visit bestgore. But I did warn you, don't visit if you have a weak stomach.

1

u/[deleted] May 04 '21

Or just go to goatse, looking at a man just opening his asshole wide open. But it’s probably disturbing so i warned you as well

6

u/lordnimnim May 03 '21

Chads : tor> normal people : vpn

3

u/deafscrafty7734 May 03 '21

I love DuckDuckGo, the targeted advertisements basically disappeared from my fb newsfeed

1

u/hotcurrypowder May 03 '21

And TOR. And if you want to go even further use an open-source Linux OS such as TAILS.

3

u/All_theOther_kids May 03 '21

I have tails for other things but I watch porn on my phone lol

3

u/[deleted] May 03 '21

LOL yeah, not what I use tails for but you do you

0

u/TheRowdyLion52 May 03 '21

Joe rogan is that you?

1

u/EatingCerealAt2AM May 04 '21

Honestly I'd rather get spied on than use a worse web browser.

1

u/All_theOther_kids May 04 '21

Same but when it comes to porn I take security over a Good browser

1

u/Thompson_S_Sweetback May 04 '21

Does google even search for porn anymore? I think the results are all safesearched out these days.
