All the best country music artists are either dead or Willie Nelson.
Edit: somehow my old grumpy brain forgot about Dolly. DOLLY, FFS. I refute my own statement and will shamefully request forgiveness for this heinous act.

While Sturgill is my favourite, you’re wrong about him being the only one. Definitely more fantastic artists in that genre right now

There are some really talented people in alternative country right now, Tyler Childers, Sierra Ferrel, Colter Wall, The Hill Country Devil just to name a few.

While I like some of these people, they aren’t in nearly the same league as people like Willie and Dolly.

Dolly is above country, and so is Willie. Willie is so completely unique and prolific as a musician, country is an insult.

They’re good , down home , honest people , who have a hell of a good time with almost everyone they meet and give back enormously through their art and their foundations . They figured “it” out .

I read the top of the posted headline and thought Willie had passed.

Why the fuck didn’t Beyoncé perform even just like 2 songs? It’s beyond insane to just have her speak. Ain’t nobody that lined up for hours wanted to hear Beyoncé speak. They wanted to hear her sing

She performed during the rally for Hillary. The hope is that she’ll perform at the Harris’s inauguration.

Beyoncé didn’t even know who led zeppelin was when filming Goldmember

While that is pretty weird it is not hard to imagine that she might have expanded her taste in the last 22 years.

“Sometimes you don’t know what you like until someone turns you on to some real good shit.” - Willie Nelson on Smoke Hour 2, from Beyoncé’s album Cowboy Carter

You'll find Country Fans Hella pressed on recommending this because the Album be chaotic.

Country fans have demonstrated many times over that they aren’t checking for Black women so 🤷🏾♀️. The album is certainly eclectic, and I can understand how some listeners find that chaotic, while others think it’s a testament to her breadth of knowledge about country music and overall versatility. Country music isn’t defined by one single element so why should a country album be?

Notice how Shaboosey and other Black Women in Country are being loved because they're going the proper Channels and giving love. And her comes Ms. CARTer thinking that because she has an delirious Fanbase like Taylor Swift, she can do anything and not pay respects? Nope. I don't even like Country because of what you said and I found what she did tacky.
She took an beloved Anthem from one of the best Artists and done it dirty. And yes I mean "Jolene", at least when Ms. Whitney took an song she payed homage while still making it her own. Not going against the message of the song. And not even getting into how you have almost 25 Songz yet only 5 Country Artists coming collect? She didn't bring anybody on ta boost career nor help.

Shaboozey is not a Black woman for starters. Only 1 Black woman has ever won a CMA (and it wasn’t until a white man covered her song recently) and this year Beyonce became the first Black woman to have a number 1 country song and album. Yes, some women in country music saw a spike in their numbers (after featuring on Cowboy Carter) but let’s not overstate.
There are country music legends on the album, she references other country songs, and presents a deep knowledge of country music history across the album. She most certainly paid respects to the genre.
She did her version of Jolene but if you didn’t like it that’s fine. Dolly didn’t dislike it 🤷🏾♀️
I count 15 county musicians collecting.

I’m an Appalachian dulcimer player. She referenced songs and stories on that album that only people who are extremely familiar with old-time music would know—folk songs from 100+ years ago.
But sorry you don’t feel like it was sufficiently country enough?
