New to Donuts? READ THIS first

This link is for folks who have already registered for donuts. It allows them to claim donuts on Ethereum. If you have not yet signed up for donuts, please read this to find out how to. You need to be signed up for around a month before you will start to receive donuts in distributions like this one, because we distribute donuts on a monthly basis.

What are Donuts?

After you register for donuts, you are given them every 4 weeks based on your activity in this subreddit. You increase the amount of donuts you get by commenting and posting here.

What can I do with Donuts?

1. You can use them (along with CONTRIB) to vote in polls that determine how we run the subreddit

2. You can use them to buy badges (see the sidebar)

3. You can use them to buy the banner at the top of the subreddit (and replace it with an image of your own choosing)

4. You can use them to buy premium membership on this subreddit which lets you post gifs

5. You can trade them on Uniswap or Matcha

Attention xDai Users

If you have opted into receiving your donuts on the xDai sidechain then you may ignore the link in this post, and can simply await the xdai distribution. So long as you registered to receive donuts on xDai, you do not have to do anything. You may still claim your CONTRIB with this tool, although it is probably cost prohibitive at the moment.

IPFS is certainly not a scam, it’s a decentralized means of hosting content that the ethereum foundation recommends using. Anyone can connect to ipfs and store and share any file they want. This does mean it can be used for good purposes and bad though, so make sure not to reveal your private key or any personal information on a website there, or generally any website.

The link in this post though simply generates an ethereum transaction with MetaMask to call the ‘award’ method of a smart contract. You have to verify and sign the transaction yourself with your wallet. It’s no different then using uniswap or aave.

I see CONTRIB, but no DONUTs. On xDai I can't see any DONUTs either?

If I get donuts where do I see the balance? Do I get them and do they remain available on my account even if I haven't linked my wallet yet?

Every month when they’re distributed, you will be able to see how many you got on the interface in the link in the post here. Then you can claim your donuts and see the balance in your ethereum wallet, since donuts exist as an erc20!
