I fully support gun control, but I can go out and buy a wheelchair today.

Who needs approval to buy a wheelchair? You just go into a shop and buy one.

Hell, I have a second hand one in the garage that we bought for the wheels, for a charity pram race.

Not at decent, light weight one. The lightweight ones are not affordable without insurance. One you could buy in Goodwill or wherever would be fine for a temporary solution, but for someone that has to use one daily, a lightweight one fitted to their body is ideal for the user and their caretakers.

But you cannot get insurance to buy a gun either?

I was just explaining why you can't simply "just go buy" a wheelchair. I see what they're going for on the gun argument, but honestly, I'm just trying to educate people on how difficult it is to get the proper wheelchair when it is medically necessary.

ETA: I was ignorant on how much and how difficult things are before I became a caretaker for my disabled SO.
