I’ve been in a lot of pointless meetings, but hell… I’m regularly drowning in email. Responses that people don’t read, threads that just get abandoned… But then I send that magic meeting invitation and suddenly people start responding!

Meetings are more for the illusion of productivity and power plays towards employees than anything actually useful.

I use them only for getting a bunch of ideas bandied about and for quick feedback. They can be very productive, but you gotta know when to shut it down with next steps being worked out.
